Yeah, I didn't get anything in the mail today either. Oh well, it won't be too long before something gives.

I wouldn't worry, I interviewed on 2/21 and received the mail last night!
I'm kind of surprised they don't email before sending out the snail-mail... this was a real, pleasant surprise 🙂

Wow it sounds like they already decided to accept you before your interview. It's only been 4 days since you interviewed on 2/21. Congrats!!

Oh shoot LOL, I meant 1/21 Sorry ... typo 🙂
and I'm out-of-state...from CA
it's interesting because they're giving me literally less than a week to send everything in...

Less than a week to send what in?

Are you planning to attend? 🙂 Just wondering because I'm from CA too and I'm undecided on whether I should roadtrip it or ship the car over.

Can't wait until August!

I got my acceptance last week too!! I was expecting an email, not snail mail..so I was not expecting it at all!🙂

Maybe if I stop expecting an acceptance I will get in? lol, seems it works for others.

Yeah! I'm going for sure, just turned everything in 🙂 hoping they get it by 3/2 🙂

Haha, I'm sure it's on it's way! Crossing my fingers for you 🙂

Yaaayy! I'm glad there's going to be other Californians (although I heard about 25% of the class is!) Have any of you guys decided on where to live? I'm seriously just considering Fitz out of convenience and stuff but I'm not sure CO gives out a list of students needing/wanting roomies or anything...

Sparkly i would recommend driving the car- i've been looking into freight quotes lately and they're ugly!! for a car I couldn't even fathom the cost, besides its an easy drive.

What I dont understand is how an "in-state preferred" school is so dominated by out-of-staters. its 50% or more.

Craigslist is the way to go for finding a residence, just dont live within a 3 mile radius of campus, unless you dont mind the occasional shady neighbours, drug deals, and violence. I would recommend the Cherry Creek area (not the rich part): affordable housing, quiet, and everything is close!

Hey Megandupe,
do you have any suggestions about finding apartments and stuff? i'm planning on making a trip to aurora to find an apartment soon, do you think March is too early for apartment hunting? I'm planning/hoping to find a place that I can move in around August...
The school gave us a list of apartments for potential housing, did you use that information or did you find about your housing via other means?
The housing closest to campus (or more like on campus) is nice but a bit pricey..
Thanks in advance~

I wouldnt live in aurora- thats the rough part of town, and it doesnt have much going for it (there's nothing to do!). I would hold off a couple more months to come out and look for places. I found my apt two weeks before the lease started, but that was an extraordinary situation. I would come out in May or June. I know that's an antagonizing amount of time to wait, but there won't be any listings until then. Most landlords dont ask their tenants if they want to renew until april at the earliest.

I was old fashioned when looking for my place, I drove around and called all the leasing numbers. Other areas you can look are Stapleton, Denver Tech Center (DTC), Glendale, and capitol hill, they're not too far from campus, and their plentiful with young professionals like ourselves. 😀

thanks! that helps a lot 🙂

Just out of curiosity... does anyone know the last interview date for this school? Maybe they will sent out more acceptances when they are done interviewing? I've been checking my snail mail/email every day/hour like Benelli! oh the anticipation...

Yeahh 🙁 I've seen those ugly prices as well. I was just afraid of making the drive since I've yet to make a trip that far haha.

Thanks for the housing tips 🙂

I got my invitation to interview for March 11. I don't know if that's the last interview date or not, but I was thinking it must be close because then they have to go through all the people they've interviewed but haven't answered yet. Everyone I've talked to here says they were told they'd have an answer the first week in April.

Even though I'm interviewing so late, it gives me less time to wait for an answer! I'm happy about that! Lol

Has anyone created a Facebook group for the wonderful members of the University of Colorado School of Pharmacy Class of 2015 yet?? 🙂

Does anyone know the amount of spots that are left? I have an interview on the 11th just want to see my chances.

during the interview, they said it doesn't matter when you have interviews (early or late), everyone has the same chance of getting in or not. i don't know how many have gotten in but they did say they narrowed down from >900 applicants to 400 for interviews for the spot of 180 or something...

Ooh thanks for the info! Good luck with your interview! I guess it'll still be a while longer until they send out the last acceptances then... le sigh!

I do have a housing question though... I too was considering the Fitz apartments just because of the close proximity to the school and because the vice dean mentioned students missing class due to weather conditions blocking roads... Does anyone know how often that actually happens? Is the area around Fitz any safer than the rest of Aurora?

Is there any new info about when they'll be sending more acceptance letters? It's been a month since my interview so I've kinda forgotten the info that the dean gave us about the timeline lol. My mind has almost gone mad in the last few months with all the interviews and travelling. I'm just glad the hard part is over. Congratulations to those who got in!

She said that you could receive notice anytime throughout the admissions process up until April 7 (I believe), which is when they send out the rest!

It seems like from the responses on this small forum if you are from out-of-state you are getting admission letters before Colorado natives. If you are a Colorado applicant and interviewed in Dec-Feb can you respond with if you have heard if you or in or out? Maybe it is just Out-of-state people who use this website. Thanks!

I hope thats the case. I m in state i havent heard anything from them. But then i interviewed pretty late Mid-Feb. This wait is slowly killing me inside :xf: :luck:

Hello,

I got an interview invitation for March 11th too. Can anyone tell me how the interview went and exactly what to expect?? In the email it says to choose 2 dates on which to go to the interview but then i only saw one date which is March 11th. Does this mean its the last interview??

Anyone got tips in traveling? I am from South CA. Would driving be the best method of getting there?

I would highly suggest not driving from SoCal. I did that drive once when I moved here and won't do it again till I graduate lol. It's around a 16-hour drive and since it's still winter time, who knows if you'll make it through the mountains to get here. It's probably more convenient and less time-consuming if you fly. But since your interview is in a week, plane tickets may be pricey. I hope you get here safely 🙂

I am from Colorado and recieved my letter of acceptance 3 weeks after my interview (interviewed on 24th of Jan). From what I've seen, it appears that most accepted applicants have received notification around 3 to 4 weeks after their interview date. Another Colorado applicant that I know was also accepted about 3 weeks after her interview.

Best of luck :luck: to you!!

Thanks for the info. I am actually waiting for a result from another school but i think the result wont come out before my interview date so i would have to go to the interview.

Any tips on how to prepare for the interview?
Thanks

I am also from Austin, TX and I interviewed on Feb. 4th. Haven't heard anything from Colorado but I did just get an acceptance from Texas A&M today 🙂. I'm super excited but I'm still waiting on UT-Austin :xf:

I just got an email from UCD saying that March 11 is the final day for interviews for this year. We'll be meeting in the brand new pharmacy building. I can't wait! Only 1 week left!

I really don't think that out-of-state students are getting faster or more acceptances right now. It seems that only a couple of out-of-state students have even been accepted at this point. I am guessing that nobody is getting denied at the moment and they are going to take a cumulative look at our applications once the interviews are complete.

Does anyone know how many students they have accepted so far by any chance?

I interviewed 1/14 and I haven't heard anything. Hopefully once they make their final decisions from the March 11th interview they will send letters out.

It just wouldn't make sense for it to be any other way. We all have very good credentials for out-of-state students and it would be statistically unlikely that all of us who haven't heard yet were actually denied or waitlisted.

When you applied or interviewed did you ask what the out-of-state student % is? I know at some state universities they say up front that 80-90% of seats will be allocated for in-state applicants only. I know Colorado is way more lenient and was wondering if they gave a %? Almost 50% of CU-Boulder freshman class is out-of-state and this trend will probably escalate due to Colorado's poor funding to higher education. I think we are the 47th-48th in terms of state taxpayer $$ for higher education. 🙁

I believe I was informed that approx 50% of people are actually from out of state and that out of those 50%, half of those are from CA lol. I'm not entirely sure if they have any set numbers though.

Has anyone from the Jan 31st interview heard back yet? I'm getting so anxious. 😕

These stats are from the 2013 class, but I think the 2014 has a little more in-staters. The school doesn't have a set %; it all depends on who applies that year. CU used to be the only CO pharm school, but now that Regis is open, you'll start to see a change in the in-state applicant numbers.

Alright guys, after weeks of waiting and nail biting impatience, I finally called them last week....to no avail. No one would pick up the phone, not even after nearly a dozen times of calling during different hours of the days. I left a message, and finally got this email today:

Dear XXX,

This is in response to your voice mail today. We relocated our offices this past week and still do not have phone service because we were not supposed to move until tomorrow. Therefore, I am responding via e-mail.
We have our final interview day this Friday. We have not had the admissions committee meet since our move began. The next meeting will be next week, I believe. This way they can discuss the most recent interviews. We hope to get communications out to applicants by the first week of April.

Ah Ha!

In other words, very bad news to those who have received some acceptances already (like me)!

Holy smokes!! They're not gonna get the cream of the crop if a bunch of students have to turn down acceptances b/c they couldnt afford to wait any longer.

I have an interview the 19th for the University of Montana. They have half the interviews but will let us know if we are accepted by the first week of april.
As for UC, it's been 7 weeks since I had my interview, I emailed them to even see if I was still in consideration. I found out I am still in consideration, but they won't have a final word until the first week of april.
