University of Detroit Mercy Dental Class of 2025 Interview/Acceptance Thread

Anyone know from previous years if they send acceptances to 240 and they have 120 or so seats, then how many from WL got in. Just trying to gauge my chances !!

no one knows where they stand on the waitlist therefore no one can tell you the chances. Just be patient, everything will work out and if it doesnt its not the end just continue working on your app.

Still got rejected with these stats. I don't really know what type of students is UDM looking for. I heard even a student with an academic dishonesty record got accepted last year, too. Nonsense.

AA25 / OC23 / GC28 / BO23 / PAT24
GPA 3.9+

I heard that schools reject people with really high stats because they assume that you’ll get into many schools and are unlikely to choose theirs. I think especially because UDM is kind of known to have a lot of people decline offers, that’s probably why? I’m sure that with your stats, that assumption would likely be correct (as in you’ll get many offers) but I understand your frustration.

High stats doesn't mean you're entitled to an interview or acceptance. Instead of focusing on the flaws of others, realize that an app goes beyond just a high DAT and GPA. I'm sure you'll have many options to choose from. Good luck!!

were you rejected without an interview or did you interview?

When is the next wave date ? When the current admissions confirm

I think we probably will not hear more from them until Jan 15 as that’s the deadline for first deposit. So I guess that will be the next waive of acceptance

With so many people on the waitlist on top of them sending way more acceptances than seats, it feels like that January 23rd interview session will be the last, as those people are interviewing for a spot on the waitlist.
where are you getting this information from? interviews typically last until march

Any current students on this thread? If so, what places other than downtown do students live? If students do not live in the downtown area how far away do students live?

Does anyone know if Dr. Chang will call if you got in off the waitlist? Or is it just an email this time?

Does anyone know if we can send the deposit on 01-15-2020 and send the confirmation email on that date? Or the deposit has to be sent before then?

We have to send a confirmation email?

does anyone know if UDM has block style ( one exam every 3-4 weeks that covers all lectures from all classes in one setting) or are exams spread out ?

You have exams pretty much every week because of how many credits you take, but it’s spread out.
Thank you so much for answering my question! I wonder, If someone gets sick or falls behind, do you know what is the policy on making up a class or retaking a test ?

Past student. Graduated 2016. I used to live in St. Clair Shores/Grosse Pointe area. Was about a 25 minute drive.

Do you guys know whether it’s encouraged or discouraged to send the school an academic update? Or even a letter of intent?

Academic Update is a good idea if you got good grades. Not particularly sure about UDM but a lot of schools view it favorably and AADSAS doesn't let you pick which schools your update goes to.

Wondering if schools know our status in other schools we applied

Anyone know if we can send out the money for the deposit the day of Jan 15 or they must receive by then?

Hey! Dr. Chang said it has to be received by the school by Jan 15th in the form a money order. He recommends to mail the deposit out about two weeks prior to that date.

they said that if you send them the tracking number, they will be okay if your letter arrives at their office a few days late; however, be sure to communicate with them 🙂

Does anyone have any advice on how to prepare for the Kira pre-interview?

Practice sample Kira Q's, learn to think on the spot and record yourself see where you can improve. And also typing speed which may help for the typing open response q but know it's moreso quality over quantity

Wonder how many from wait list will get in. Going by previous years ? Anyone know this
From what I know the waitlist moves a ton at udm I have friends in past years that all got in off the waitlist but closer to the start date of classes so it’s really just a waiting game

If I wanted to send a letter of intent, does anyone know what email I should send it to?
