Does anyone either from the area or currently at UMN know which hotels are the closest and most reasonably priced? They sent us a list, but it doesn't show which is the best. Thanks!

Try going on one of the hotel websites (hotels.com, etc.) And compare. I'm staying at the Hampton Inn and Suites on University Ave, but it's about $130 per night. I didn't look at any other hotels.

I posted re. Hotels earlier. I loved Hampton Inn last year. Days hotel is a bit cheaper and closer to restaurants. Both are near light rail. Both have complimentary shuttle service.

I interviewed last Friday and thought I wasn't going to make it because of flight delays and cancellations. Violetta was super accommodating and helpful. She was going to reschedule me to a different day and worse case scenario, do the interview over Skype. I ended up making it, but she was very helpful. Give her a heads-up so she can figure out a back up for you now in case other people are in the same boat as you
 
I’m also flying delta and got the same notification. I sent an email to Violetta just in case!
 
What is the attire for the tour/lunch? My interview is the day before that so should I still be wearing interview attire?

I also have the same question. My interview is on Friday. So would being dressed in more of a business casual be fine for the info session and tour Saturday?

In the interview information email it says business professional for the interview and business casual for the info session if you have them on separate days.

I interviewed last week and a lot of people who interviewed the day before weren't dressed business casual per se, but just dressed appropriately and nice enough to be presentable. I had my interview the day before and wore more clothes from my interview because there wasn't enough room in my carry on for more clothes.
 
Well mine's cancelled! Beat that! Lol yikes. Rescheduled for super early tomorrow morning. I'm thrilled and not stressed at all

Yeah, I called Violetta yesterday about it, and I just left a message for Karen Nelson on voicemail
 
Mine’s cancelled as well. Had to reschedule my flight and my interview. Thankfully Karen Nelson has been really accommodating!!

Do you know where I can find Karen’s email? I’m anticipating my flight being cancelled as well. I’m glad they were accommodating for you!!
 
My flight this morning was not delayed somehow! I flew in from the east coast. Be careful when you all get here the roads are not great. Safe travels!
 
MSP airport is closed and I’m in the airport here in NYC stuck here waiting for my flight. I’m literally about to cry.
 
Wait, apparently it’s opened now?
They need to stop playing with my emotions like this :nailbiting:

These roads are terrible, even for the people who have lived here their entire lives. Seriously be safe people!
 
My pre-interview nerves are setting in! Mines at 8:15, anyone else going to be there at that time?

My interviewers were super nice. Mine asked about by background, then went on to the behavioral type Q’s. Lemme tell you, some of those required a bit of thought, but they encourage you to take a minute and collect your thoughts.

Yeah definitely the hardest interview I've had but my interviewers were nice too which really helped with my nerves
 
Not sure if I was lulled into a false sense of security because my interviewers were so nice haha, but even though some of the scenarios were tough sometimes I feel pretty okay... (don't want to jinx it though!) Good luck to everyone who still has to go! You will do great, just stay positive! To everyone who has interviewed already, here comes the worst part: waiting.

It was my only interview so I guess that made it the hardest by default, but I definitely struggled a little 😕

Also for those that had to reschedule your interviews, did you get moved to the 15-16th weekend or did they make new interview weekends to accommodate? Just wondering if we should expect to hear back later than we were originally planning

Student ambassadors haven't heard anything about additional days, and I think at interviews this weekend, they were told they'd probably hear the week after the last interviews (which are this week).
