Anyone have any recommendations for courseload the first semester? Most of the electives they offer sound so interesting but I'm worried about overloading myself right off the bat...

No one would know if you didn't take electives, you're still taking a full course load. The caveat being that some future electives you'll be offered have the first year electives as a requirement, so if you're at all interested in the classes I would take them. Example being the zoo med class you need to take the intro to exotics or whatever they're calling it, and you can't just take them later because it won't fit in with your schedule correctly.Does it look bad if I opt out of taking electives first semester? I want to make sure I can handle the course load first before jumping into electives. I do want to do a residency after vet school and am not sure how this would affect that
Nope. You're maxed out beyond full time within your degree. They'll only get you on extra tuition if you go for another degree like the MPH.Would taking an elective mean paying more in tuition? This might be a dumb question, but I just wanted to check...
Thank you! I'm thinking about taking the non-domestic vet med course. Do any current or past students here have any extra information on that class? No one would know if you didn't take electives, you're still taking a full course load. I just took it this past year! What do you want to know?Thank you! I'm thinking about taking the non-domestic vet med course. Do any current or past students here have any extra information on that class?
I don't know really... I'm just excited and want to know more about what its like/what I'm getting myself into hahaI just took it this past year! What do you want to know?
It's a really easy going class. Basically each class session either you go through cases with Dr. Trent or a guest speaker comes in to tell you about their job and how they got where they are. It ranged from a Public Health/OneHealth professor, to a fish and aquaculture vets, to an exotic companion animal vet. Quite a few different fields revolving around non-traditional animals, including wildlife, are covered, so it's a good class to get an idea of what you may be able to do with your degree or what you may want to do with it.I don't know really... The only assignments are a brief (like a few sentences) summary of your thoughts/something you learned/etc that you hand in before you leave.
Same! I literally made a spreadsheet calculating my odds!! Where are you in rank? I'm #16 for IS but I'm crossing every digit!!!
Looks like they were number 16 and I don't know why I did this searching for you. For people who haven't posted in years I would just do the searching yourself in the future. Gotta be a little proactive and do some digging yourself.Hey what number were you on waitlist
That wasn’t the person I was referring to but it doesn’t hurt to be kind. I have been doing my research.Looks like they were number 16 and I don't know why I did this searching for you. Yes it was, you deleted your post where you quoted them. I was kind, I answered your question. I just suggested to you that since I was able to find the information, so were you. That wasn’t the person I was referring to but it doesn’t hurt to be kind. I have been doing my research.
