Hey! You can choose to submit either official or unofficial transcript. I'm applying to FL and since Erika isn't there anymore, I've been emailing Diana. She's surprisingly great with responding!
Ahhh, okay, thanks so much! I have actually gotten contact with Colleen and she is super responsive.. very relieving!

Does USA host an interviewing process? Just curious. :)

Do we submit our applications? ( i don't see a button) or does USA just AUTO submit on the deadline?

How did you guys submit your GRE scores? Is it required for USA? There is a slot for them in the documents section of the application. But I don't want to pay to have the scores sent if they're not needed. HELP

Literally from the USA DPT website, come on guys:

"An official GRE score report sent directly to the University from ETS. The test must have been taken within the last five (5) years. A combined minimum GRE score of 294 (new version) or 1,000 (old version) for the verbal and quantitative sections is recommended. The analytical writing score is also evaluated. The University’s GRE Institutional Code Number is 5325. Candidates who have previously earned a Master’s degree are exempt from the GRE requirement."

Their admission process is a bit of a mess. I called in because I didn't know where their other forms were and also because my reference letters weren't showing up? Turns out it was sent in, but the office of admissions or whatnot didn't upload it onto the website.

Anyway, @krissybear is right, you have to email the advisor Yvette Shaver about the pre-requisite form. I was in contact with a Dianna Holle and she was able to send me the form. Secondly, @yogeeeee the credentialing evaluation is only for international students. I wish their application process would be more descriptive and easier than this....

Do you have the contact information for Dianna Holle?

Hey all!
First off, best of luck to all of you in this application process. I'm applying for the Flex DPT program at Austin [Fall 2016]. I'm looking to send out my undergrad transcripts, does anyone know the address I should be sending it to? I'm not sure if everything goes through the St. Augustine campus or not.

Thanks

I sent my transcripts to the San marcos campus. They lost the first batch so I had the schools send them again. They didn't even find my transcripts until after the deadline. An advisor told me that the transcripts are processed in Florida anyway, so you're probably way better off just sending them there.

I sent mine electronically to the main USA admissions email, and they were processed just fine.

just fyi you all. I think we all know by now how the admissions office at USA is like. I guess I can understand since they're trying to fill 450 seats per year. but regardless, I just had a somewhat unpleasant experience with their admissions this week and would advise you ALL to meticulously check on your application and call, email, etc to stay on top of it bc any front office is going to make mistakes and even more so at a behemoth program like USA. looking out for you all since we're sharing the same pain. gluck.

@steveyk Oh snap, what happened? Anything specific we should be looking out for?

enrollment advisor just kept insisting i apply for the summer 16 cohort when the deadline has passed. i called another admissions office rep and she said that was a horrible idea and that i should submit my app for the fall 16 cohort due in december. i would have wasted a lot of time if i listened to the first lady.
and she just didn't quite have the tools or knowledge to help me efficiently. for example, she couldn't tell me which prereq courses i took would count towards certain prereq requirements and in multiple occasions, had to get back to me with more info, which really slows down the process.

I would just make sure whomever you are talking to knows what s/he is talking about (and ask multiple people to make sure that information is correct!)

does anyone know who I can contact.. I emailed someone a few weeks ago and nobody has emailed me back..

Also did anyone have trouble getting the references to show up on the application? I had mine done awhile back and they haven't shown up

If you are applying to either the Miami or St Augustine campus you should contact Colleen Lyon, she is very helpful. I also had trouble with my references not showing up but Colleen helped me find them.

I had the same problem. I was told it's a system malfunction (not too sure how eager they are to fix it). I applied to the FL campus. I literally had one reference send in the form FOUR times because that's what admissions instructed me to do, then I finally got it contact with someone (not a voicemail). I had to give the email address of my reference to the admissions person so that they could send my reference a hard copy of the form for them to fill out and send back. This whole process told a couple weeks. Good luck!

Hi everyone!

With the deadline for Fall 2016 approaching, I thought that it would be nice to start a thread. It will be nice to talk to others that are in the same boat. I am pretty new to this whole application process and I'm excited to get the ball rolling.

Anyone else thinking of applying this December? :)

Yep! I'm applying right now for the fall '16 class. I started my app last year but didn't finish it before the deadline so they rolled everything over to now. I want to upload an updated resume and other material though, any clue how to do that??

Where are you from btw?? I'm from Connecticut, just graduated from UConn!

How do we go about uploading the prerequisite form? I never received an email regarding my application, and on the applicaiton, there wasn't an option for me to upload my prerequisite form.

You have to email your advisor and they'll email the form to you.

Good luck to you all! I was fortunate enough to be accepted into the Spring 2016 DPT class in Austin. If anyone has any questions I can answer to the best of my ability lol.

GOOD LUCK!!

Question for everybody. I'm having a real hard time trying to decide which campus to apply to. I'm torn between the San Marcos, CA campus and the FL campus.

Anyone know the pros/cons of either? Thank you.

Hey folks! The dateline for the fall is fast approaching. Has anyone submitted their app already? I'm in a rather complicated situation as I have everything in but need to retake the GRE next month ( January 2016), the old scores are in but not competitive at all, I actually spoke with an admission counselor and she said it was fine but I am a little skeptical it's gonna affect my application in a way since I will send the scores about a month after the dateline? Any advice?

@Bossman88 I submitted my application in early September. I haven't received any emails from them regarding my application, whether they have received everything, and whether they're reviewing the applications. I'm getting a little worried so I called both Yvette Shaver and Dianna Holle today (they were both unavailable to pick up the call.)

Did anyone else receive any status updates regarding their application?

Dianna Holle has been helping me with my application and I actually emailed her every time I submitted something and she accepted them right away. She was the one who submitted my application about 2 weeks ago. Other than that, I haven't received anything status updates.

If you believe your GRE is not competitive then try to apply for the spring of 2017, the deadline is June 15, 2016. If you feel confident in your scores then submit for Fall of 2016.

so you applied in early September of this year for the cohort starting in September of 2016?

Process is a mess, called in to graduate admissions and she told me to disregard the 12/15 application due date...? I was like wtf. Not sure if she's messing with me or truthful. Harnois never picks up the phone or replies to emails... It's pretty comical. Are Colleen Lyon and Dianna Holle part of the FL campus or can they help? Im missing observation hrs, GRE, and rec letters that were sent weeks ago. The admissions girl told me they were severely backed up in processing everything and that's why I shouldn't worry about the 12/15 deadline.

What's up with this school? Is the program good? Acceptance rate? 450 seats a year is massive.

Honestly, it is so unorganized. I'm so discouraged from considering to attend here even if I get accepted. There are no status updates whatsoever about any parts of your application. Additionally, I had to call in each time to confirm the submission of my documents (rec letters, transcripts, observation hours). The admission counselor, Yvette Shaver, is unreachable by email. I have only been able to connect with Dianne Holle who has been able to confirm my submission and assist me through the process. Nonetheless, this process only works when you reach out to them. I believe they do have a shortage of staff.. Nonetheless, I feel they should be making efforts to straighten things out to ensure a smooth process.

Anyone have good links to information on what makes St Aug's DPT special? Trying to write the essay currently.

Wow, sorry you had a bad experience! When I applied, both Holle and Harnois responded to my emails frequently and thoroughly. Weird. I mean it was tedious to check up on things but it worked out. I also applied for the october deadline, so maybe they weren't as busy then.

I heard glowing reviews about this program, especially if you want to be great at manual therapy. I know, they do graduate a lot of students. Four campuses and class sizes of 50-55 is crazy. I really liked the Florida campus when I went for my interview 11/20. It is very small, and the oldest campus but I don't mind. It was so close to the beach too. The San Marcos and Austin campuses look nicer of course because they are newer. Good luck to you.

Hey y'all good luck as you go through the admission process. I am currently a student at USA-ATX. I graduate Aug '16. I figure you guys will have interviews coming up soon. I have a blog that outline the interview process when I went though. Some thing may have changed but I feel like it might be beneficial to some of you. Here is the link if you are interested http://www.creatingapt.com/2014/07/interview-day.html or send me a message if you have any questions you think I might be able to help with. Good luck!

How do you plug in your volunteer work?
There really isn't a section for that nor do I think they really care. You could include it in your resume that you upload on the application

I managed to submit my application online, but I was also having trouble uploading documents. I ended up getting in touch with the enrollment advisors and the sent me the Observation and Reference forms to have filled out. Those forms need my User ID, but I have no idea where I find this. I never got a confirmation email or anything when I submitted the application. Anyone else having this problem?
you should be able to keep track of your application documents on the application documents tab of your USA application portal. it should show you the date submitted (or date "accepted" if and enrollment advisor confirmed its receipt) on the right side of each category. I will tell you, it is a BUSY time for the admissions right now. You should definitely call multiple times until they pick up (however, I would advise you not to leave more than 1 voice mail). good luck!

When I contacted an enrollment advisor to ask about the User ID, she said to ignore that part so you should be fine!

I got the same answer be two different advisors. Also email them too, I have noticed I get an answer faster this way.

I wonder how many applications these guys get for the florida campus. I'm guessing they get less applications for FL since FL had a ton of PT schools.
Anyone know when the interview invites will come out for those who submitted for fall (Dec 15 deadline)? They still have not put in my Official GRE and observation hours in the application.

I believe it's 4-6 weeks after the application deadline is when they start sending out interview invites. I actually have the same GRE issue, I took the test a while back and had my scores sent out at the testing center. On the ETS website it says my scores were sent out, but they haven't shown up on USA's application portal.

I would call or email them and see if they can get that resolved ASAP. If you need an adviser that can help, PM me and I will give you her email address.

Has anyone received a confirmation email with login information to check your application status and also that says admissions have received your application? Just curious because my application was submitted by an admissions advisor 2 days prior to the fall dateline but haven't received any confirmation yet.

I called earlier today to see if they are processing my application since I sent them an updated transcript when my grades posted after their deadline. Unfortunately I was greeted to an answering machine stating that the office is closed for the holidays until next week.

Anybody gotten any news back yet? I applied end of Oct and Carolyn said I'd be hearing back from 2-6 weeks. Still no update on my Admissions Decision tab.

I haven't heard anything yet! I believe it's usually 2-6 weeks but she also mentioned that they wouldn't start looking at the applications until after December 15. Also, with the holidays and everything they had two weeks off so I think it'll be more like end of January or beginning of February.

Carolyn is new and she's a really nice person, but she has misinformed me of many things. I spoke to an admissions specialist and she said the Fall applicants should start receiving invites in late Jan early Feb

What were you misinformed of if you don't mind me asking? It was an extremely confusing application process to begin with and I'm finding I'm not the only one to feel that way.. I ended up actually emailing admissions (mostly because I didn't feel secure with her) and they relayed generally the same info as her.
