I wonder if that notification for OOS will occur in December. It would be a GREAT Christmas gift (well, if it's not a rejection). UTK is my top choice.

Mine too. I read that OOS won't be notified until the end of January for interviews the first week of February. So we just wait 😰

I have the opportunity to do a “short screening interview” for a second interview pool. UTK is my top choice, hopefully that will be good!

I received a screening interview this morning. Does anyone know if they have done this in the past? From my understanding, it seems like a pre-interview screening to narrow down their final interviewee selections? Or a “second interview pool” per their words.

I got the same email to the screening with Kira talent. For what I understand it seems they have doubts about giving us interviews right away. So they are doing a screening first. Probably they need more information to make sure we have what it takes to be successful in vet school.

Probably you’ll get interview invite. I feel like the secondary screening is a step before getting denied

It seems like some students have been selected for interview (but not announced yet) without the screening and some students they want to know more information to help them decide. I do not think all OOS who will be offered an interview have to do the screening one as well. I may be totally wrong! Maybe someone else can weigh in on how they interpreted it!

I’m assuming she'll get an invite or denial soon? My gpas are below their average OOS admitted students from last year’s cycle, about on par for previous years. Where does she stand with gpa? I know this school is very gpa heavy so I’m not surprised I didn’t get an invite off the bat.

She's around a 3.5 with thousands of hours though.

I used Kira for my interview with TAMU and loved it! It was six questions total with two minutes to think and four minutes to respond to each. Once I started it, I had to complete all six in one sitting. The platform automatically did everything for me in terms of starting and stopping the video recording for me. So basically I had to do nothing but respond when prompted to!

If I’m not mistaken, I think that all IS students have been selected for the class already

I think whoever got an email today is having to go through this screening in hopes of getting a spot on the main interview list. Basically meaning they need extra information before they decide to give us an interview or not. I think no news today means you either will get an interview or you’ll be rejected in a couple weeks instead of this in between some of us got.

Since the screening interview is due in a week, I’d imagine actual interview invites will be sent out to everyone at once in a couple weeks. Including those picked from the screening interview on the original planned date about a week before interviews are scheduled.

Maybe that's when they'll send out the legit interview invites? That would give them enough time to review the "screening interviews" since they're due on 1/17.

Thats what it sounds like. It could also be a way differentiate if the stats are very similar and they aren't sure who to give the go ahead to.

“No decisions for out of state have been sent yet, and we are working on selecting applicants for interviews now. Invitations will be sent in the next couple of weeks.”
