I doubt the recent $200 million dollar gift will serve any great factor in many's decisions, unless UCLA immediately starts dishing out scholarships with the recent donation.•••••Jmejia, I think you'll be quite surprised at how many people turn down top schools including Harvard, UCSF, and Hopkins for UCLA. I know two friends who have gotten into Harvard and are attending UCLA next year, and plenty of people turn down UCSF for UCLA. I think that UCSF is the biggest competition for UCLA and that's because they are both great schools and dirt cheap.
[/QB]••••At the second look weekend, I would say there were about 50-60 students. Out of those a lot seemed sure they were coming, but then a handful were deciding between UCLA and other top schools (UCSF, Stanford, Harvard). You should also consider the fact that a lot of students who were accpeted did not come to the second look weekend. This might mean that some of them are no longer interested in UCLA!
