UCLA is up there, but when it comes down to it, they accept the same students that higher ranked and more prestigeous schools accept. UCLA is a great school, but how many have the guts to turn down schools like Harvard, Penn, UCSF and Hopkins for UCLA?
I doubt the recent $200 million dollar gift will serve any great factor in many's decisions, unless UCLA immediately starts dishing out scholarships with the recent donation.•••••Jmejia, I think you'll be quite surprised at how many people turn down top schools including Harvard, UCSF, and Hopkins for UCLA. I know two friends who have gotten into Harvard and are attending UCLA next year, and plenty of people turn down UCSF for UCLA. I think that UCSF is the biggest competition for UCLA and that's because they are both great schools and dirt cheap.
