Waitlist C/O 2029 Hopefuls!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
just found this thread! im on the interview waitlist for Penn (im pretty sure ill be rejected by this point lol) anyone have any experience with being pulled off the interview waitlist?
Not me but someone on reddit posted the other day that they were initially rejected from a school (I think UAZ, so not Penn) without an interview but they were reached out to the other day about interviewing! It may not happen for you at this point, but it could! It ain't over 'till it's over!

Waitlisted CSU and SDSU (#14) OOS for both. Still waiting to hear from Wisconsin and Rowan. Anyone know how much the CSU waitlist usually moves? I'm hoping SDSU gets into the late teens like the last few years but this waiting is ENDING me!

Generally, OOS waitlists see a quite a bit of movement. I wouldn't be surprised if you make it off one, if not both, of those waitlists with how high up you are 🤞 but each year is fairly different.

OOS wait lists can be a little crazy honestly! Sometimes you are seeing movement as late as a few weeks (or less) before classes start, this is true for IS sometimes as well as people have changes of heart, have to defer, etc. A lot of moving parts.

I think you will get off! Hopefully before the April 15th deadline too

its my first application cycle, so i'm hopeful!! thanks for the advice. its so stressful playing the waiting game even longer lol. I've heard the OOS at CSU can be insane right up until the first week of classes.

thanks! I really hope so. i unfortunately have to take into account my pre-existing military contract (did ROTC to pay my way through undergrad) so i hope you're right!! it would make my life easier (with the military aspect) and help me not feel as much of a failure (which I know logically I'm not but 11 rejections gets you questioning a lot)

Edit: also, is anyone else going stir-crazy thinking about their waitlists? I'm trying not to but I just can't seem to help it

It’s hard to not focus on things you can’t control. So I’m trying to focus on the things that I can control like getting a good grades in my last semester of undergrad ever!

I've been waitlisted at LSU and WSU (OOS for both) and interview waitlisted at Penn (IS). I have been accepted to LIU, Midwestern, UMN, and Liverpool so far. Still have some to hear back from as well. Sending everyone here good vibes <3

Not sure if this is obvious, but if we accept our spot at one school (and put down the deposit), and then get taken off the waitlist at another school after the deadline, we probably wouldn't be able to get that deposit back should we switch our decision?

You will not get your deposit. The point of the deposit is to claim your seat, you’re free to give it up but that money is what reserves it. It is never refundable.

Waitlisted today at WSU (IS)
The waitlist isn’t ranked and I have no idea how many people are on it. Does anyone know if it moved much in previous years?

Some updates:
- top tier of WSU waitlist (OOS)
- OOS Tufts and UF waitlists
- rejected from Penn, Wisconsin

Anyone else waitlisted for SDSU? I'm having trouble finding many ppl either waitlisted or accepted
Waitlisted for SDSU! Not a good waitlist number 🙁 but not giving up hope yet either 🤞🏻
Edit: I was also accepted to SGU!

WSU waitlist IS (Idaho) 2nd tier
Hoping against all odds 🙏🏽 does anyone know anything about how the WSU waitlist looks? How much it has moved in the past? How they rank? 🤔 Not even sure how many interviews vs seats there were or if waitlist is a soft rejection like KSU seemed to be.🙈

waitlisted Cornell, Tufts, LIU (top)... anyone know how fast these move/have opinions on letters of continued interest?

Are you waitlisted OOS or IS? I spoke with Cornell’s director of admissions last week and she said the waitlist is ranked already so a letter of continued interest would not be beneficial or add any favor to your application.

Letters of continued interest are not typically considered (if at all) in vet school. Most lists are ranked to an extent from the schools perspective that they don’t share so it’s not going to move your spot

LSU OOS alt & RVC 4 yr hold list. Anyone know how far these two schools generally move in their waitlists?

OOS for all, thanks good to know!

I saw on reddit that LSU went through their entire waitlist a couple of years ago and had to reach out to people who were initially rejected. I doubt that'll happen again, I imagine they've made their waitlist bigger to compensate for that, but it could happen! I don't know about RVC unfortunately

First time applying, low gpa, average hours oos VMCVM alternate, still waiting to hear from western(no interview yet) and Rowan (receiver interview invite). VMCVM is my first choice so praying I get off the waitlist. If anyone has any insight on how much it moves I’d be very appreciated!

if/when schools pull students off the waitlist is it typically a quick turn around to give an answer?
