Sorry that I have never actually posted before! I read often, but I am very superstitious! I'm so excited that I got in (and to an above poster, I too cried when I found out)!:laugh:

I 'm actually a little surprised because I thought that Michigan wasn't going to start calling their waitlisted applicants until May 1st. Now I am going to be on pins and needles checking my email.

im also on the MSU waitlist and i too was under the impression we had to wait till May 1st! thats what the adcom told me anyway.. im hoping many accepted people declined their spot so they had to start pullng people off the waitlist before they expected?? :xf: thats what im hoping for anyway!!
 
Heck if I had accepted a spot at Kansas, I'd be calling to make sure that they wouldn't take back their offer...just in case I was on a waitlist or something....if it was possible then i'd accept at multiple schools just to see and then forfeit the deposit

I know in the past Penn has done that, and told the students if they moved to PA, they could start that next year as IS residents, with the IS tuition rate.

I _think_ they may just be calling ISers today. I've heard of three ISers who've gotten a call today but no OOSers yet.

And you're very far up the list der, so I'm confident you'll be getting a call. I personally know about five OOSers who have turned Minnesota down, and I really don't know that many people... 😉

So maddsmoltz, are you in? Der, will you be if you get the call? If so, you should both join the Facebook group. :welcome:

So far, I accepted a spot at Michigan state (a fine school too) because I didn't want to pin all my hopes on the waitlist, but MN was my first choice so I really hope I get in...

This was not an easy decision for me based on personal things, but I made it and I am accepting at Iowa State U. It's crazy that I was struggling to decide between Ross U and Iowa State, but eventually I had to make the decision based on facts and not on emotion...hardest thing I have EVER had to do. But hey, I will be a vet in 4 years which is an amazing feeling!

I don't know!!! AHHH I'm so worried/confused/full of anxiety. I was completely convinced and decided on Western whether or not I got into my IS but now it's a matter of making a decision that I can live with the enormous debt. HELP!
 
If you are paying for school yourself, might as well go to your instate. You're gonna be really stressed out whichever place you go to school. You are only in school for 4 years but the debt can last for the rest of your life

go with your IS, the debt isn't worth it. you can do internships/preceptorships/residencies in other locations that give you a change of scenery and an opp to move. i didn't choose OOS debt over IS tuition, and i'm really happy with my choice.

Man, I am also discouraged about WSU. I heard they called someone from the IS list earlier this week (I am OOS, non-WICHE), so I am just wondering, can it really take that long to get through all the lists?

I don't know, I'm sure it takes way longer to work on this stuff than I imagine. I'm just obsessing/spazzing on here so I don't call WSU and harass them. I'm just worried the class is full already.

Did they tell you how far down on the waitlist you were?
My friend is waitlisted for IL and she called today and they told her that they couldn't tell her what number she was on the waitlist....
 
Well when I called she was telling me congrats you're going to vet school! yada yada and I jokingly said "finally!" (third application) and she said well no really you got off the waitlist very soon after the deadline (4/15) so you were very high on our list. Again, my letter said "possibility" but she didn't tell me a rank or anything.
