Hi yall,

First post ever on SDN. I'm wondering what my chances are of getting that acceptance email into an MD school. I have a lower end MCAT but feel I'm a decent applicant in other factors.

State of residence: Texas
Major: Biology
GPA: 3.83
sGPA: 3.76
MCAT: 25 or 499 (My first attempt)
Volunteer: 700 hours
Research: 100 hours
Healthcare/Patient Contact: 400 hours
Physician Shadowing: 75 hours
Leadership: Good (President of student leadership organization)
Certifications: EMT-B, CPR/AED, Unarmed Security
Jobs while in school/summer: 32 hours/week (during School year), 48 hours/week (during Summers)
Ethnicity: Caucasian

Please let me know what yall think or if you have any advice!

You are competitive for some DO schools so consider all these:
TCOM
UIWSOM
ACOM
ARCOM
BCOM
WCU-COM
LMU-DCOM
UP-KYCOM
WVSOM
VCOM (all 3 schools)
NYIT-Arkansas
RVU-Utah
Your MCAT is below the 10% for all Texas MD schools but you could try them since they like high GPA's which you have.
