There doesn't seem to be many viable backup plans these days, it seems healthcare is the one of the last few sectors in America that still has jobs. McDonalds, here we come. Well, you can always go get one of our lost IT, accounting, or manufacturing (aka sweatshop) jobs in India or China I guess, fun times to be had.

Network security or something else network related, harder to outsource overseas unlike support or development.

reapply. Then reapply some more. Then change my name move somewhere far away, and try reapplying a few more times with a Spanish name.
 
Take at least a year off to improve application and reapply.
 
Competition is gonna get even more cutthroat as more and more people's only option is medicine. Morals go out the window when there's no plan B too so EC's will have even less weight as more people just make them up.

I will be doing whatever it takes because this is after all, my dream, and I'm not giving up on it if I don't get in this cycle. That being said, while pursuing this dream, I'll be someone's kept woman so I don't have to give up due to my debt :p

If after all that effort, I get a letter in the mail from the god of medical school admissions, telling me that it is impossible for me to become a doctor...I'll probably become a human rights attorney since that still meshes with the type of ideology I would uphold as a physician.

Lol... the funny (or unfunny) thing is that's gonna be the new america. In China they actually installed nets around the dorms that workers live in cuz so many were jumping off to kill themselves. We're at the beautiful end-result of greed and capitalism guys, see ya'll in the streets when people here start realizing it.

Communism isn't any better, just a never-ending cycle of corruption. Capitalism is just unprecedented in how bad it's managed to give people nothing to live for and destroy the planet (I'm no environmentalist but at some point you just have to laugh at how ridiculous it's gotten).

But whatever it doesn't matter. This topic is about med school plan B's. I just threw in that most plan B's involve working for $1.50 an hour in a global economy.

Clinical neuropsychology was going to be my backup.

It's funny, as a psych major all of my profs told me I was a shoe-in for grad school if I ever wanted to go that route b/c I had the stats and EC's for it. I laugh now because I just barely got into medical school. :laugh:
 
I do not know anything outside school. If medical school does not work out then hopefully pharmacy, if that does not, then hopefully graduate school in general, and if that does not then hopefully I can get a nice pharmaceutical job with the bachelor's, if that does not work out then there is not much left. You spend quarter of your life in school, hoping to achieve something great, something that makes the rest of your simpler...Too much time and effort is invested for it to not work out as planned in the end.

I will probably just be lost not knowing what to do.

A: Doctor
B: Go back to architecture
C: Civil engineering (actually been my backup throughout HS and college in case I accidentally got pregnant or got hit by a car and became paraplegic and had to drop out of school for x years)
D: Biotech (profit off cancer patients. Yes)
E: Clinical psych
F: Go to law school and become a lobbyist
G: Open a pastry shop
H: Invest in eyelid surgery and become one of those pretentious high-earning sexual escorts in China.
I: Investment banking

Now I have no proof to back this up, but I've heard that there are places in Thailand where Caucasian/ Bi racial men etc are paid to sleep with women in order to produce bi-racial babies and use them to represent Thailand. I heard the pay is quite well.....and me being half Norwegian should help.....if all else fail lol.

I bet the women would have to be really hot if their offspring's faces are supposed to represent a country.

That would be pretty disconcerting though, if it were true.

I'm serious. Southeast Asian countries like Thailand etc love bi racial people. if you look at all their movie stars majority of them are half white or they bleached their skin. They prefer the men to be white and female Asian because apparently the offspring has a likelier chance of looking more White than Asian.

Like I said I have no proof but that's what I've heard, they don't come out with it publicly but it is a desired look they go for.

yeah, sure, but it's not based on a biological difference since race and ethnicity are social, cultural, and political construct. if you think it's a biological construct, you are merely culturally inclined to believe so based on illogical reasoning.

for example, in the United States, the chinese, japanese, and indian immigrants used to be labeled as white prior to political changes.

I will make the obvious response to OP - I'd go into master's work with my major (Biochemistry).

From there, I'd probably get on a track to be a college/med school professor.
 
Open another gym, increase the number of accredited courses one of my companies offers, increase the number of seminars I present at yearly. But I'd really prefer medicine to work out.

i was merely expounding. i'm also happa but i'm don't look asian, white, or "half." too bad their reasoning is crap because their reasons are based on pre-conceived notions toward humans. it's just a way for poor people who think it's a way to escape poverty since so many thais are relatively poor.
 
I would find work at places like TGI friday, Gap, Mcdonald, or wherever I can get hired to pay off Undergraduate debt. Or maybe I'll just move to West Baltimore and get in on that drug money. Either works.
