Hey,

All of you folks who are writing NBDE Part 1 in November/December 2009, come and share your knowledge. I have just started my preparation in May.

I did my Graduation in 2007 from India. So the subjects I m studying now were studied by me 5-6 years back.

So lets make a study plan and study together.

God Bless All of Us

Hi Dent 2,

Thank you. I did occlusion from Wheelers and from Kaplan. I think that was enough for me. I found it very easy after reading from these two sources and also go through Decks and ASDA Papers. You will be fine.

Thank you, Bdds girl!!

Hi GYTBDC,

Personally I think ASDA Papers are the best test exams. I did not do any other exam master or anything like that. Just go through all the ASDA Papers and I think they are more than enough. I think other stuff is waste of time and money.

And on the exam day, the biggest mistake I made was to go back and change some of my right answers to wrong answers. I think it was inevitable, but I think if you are confused on a question or do not know an answer, you should follow your first instinct.....

And you will have plenty of time, but still try to answer as fast as you can. And do not get nervous, just stay calm and relaxed.

And now you should just revise and revise, do not go for any new material.

I wish you all the best for your exam.

You are welcome
Thank you so much. All the best .in this new year may god give u whatever university u want.Happy New Year.can u tell the asda paper u have it is upto which year. One more thing have u read dental aids I m reading n I m little confused becoz some of the points are wrong.

Hi gytbdc,

I had ASDA Papers from I-A till I-N , that means all of them from the oldest till the latest released. I had bought First Aid but I did not read anything from that book. So I do not know about that book. Sorry. I think First aid is just an organized form of dental decks......so I think it should be fine....you will get 1-2 mistakes in every book or source you read from.....so do not get confused....good luck

hi,
actually I have asda papers till I-M but I don't have I-N can u give me or can u tell from where to get .Thank you for ur suggestions and one more thing in ur exam did every thing comes from decks and asda papers is it sufficient?from where u had read Ethics.

Maha08- Try to do all the papers starting from paper A if you can. More practice is better than less.

Gytbdc- Try to get paper N. The more recent exams are very good at helping you prepare well for the exam. Make sure u know paper K,L,M and N VERY VERY WELL.

Toothfairy, do you have explanations for the solutions of ASDA K,L,M and N? I feel knowing the concepts behind the answers would help us tackle similar questions if not the same! I saw some explanations for previous exams in Kaplan but not for these.

Hi Guys,

Yes, try to do all the ASDA Papers from I-A to I-N. These all are very helpful. You can get them from www.asdanet.org ,

Well, about the exam questions, the questions are easy but confusing. And I did ethics from decks 2009.

Good luck

Hi Guys,

I just applied to one university - BU. I just hope I get a call from there.

Good luck bddsgirl! I wish you to get a call for an interview! You deserve this after such a hard work! Good luck!
I have my exam on March 17th and I am struggling with what to study better and how deep I should go with the information. I saw people saying that the teste is harder than the released exams. Was that true for you? I am scoring pretty well in the released exams but I always fear that maybe I am not studying enough details. What is your take on this? Thanks

iam also taking my exam in march/ april sometime ! wat all have u covered so far?

Hey Raluca,

Thank you for your wishes. I need them badly. So my score was definitely more in actual paper. I used to do released papers and score around 84-87. But I scored 91. But this maybe because I read only from my books, decks and in the last 2-3 days I just did ASDA Papers and then maybe my scored was raised because of that. My friend used to get around 92-93 in released papers after reading from kaplan and decks and she got 92 in her actual exam.

So I think You will get good score if you are doing well in your released exams. But make sure you are getting over 90 in released exam. And make sure you go through decks and asda papers carefully.

Good Luck

Hi bddsgirl,
i read u have finished your exams and followed harsh mohan for pathology.Did u read the whole book or specific chapters. Was the book helpful.I have alloted two days to read the book ,but could not complete it.How long does it take to finish the book.Thank you in advance.

Hey buffer,

Yes I did Pathology exclusively from Harsh Mohan, Decks and ASDA . I had the new edition of Harsh Mohan and it is around 1000 pages and is a very good book indeed. I did not like the old edition. The old one is very concise and is missing a lotttttttt of important topics. I finished that book in about 20 days. But take into consideration that I was reading Pathology after 6 years.

Do not worry. And do not rush things. 2 days for a book is not very long. Just keep in mind doing less and doing very thoroughly will really help you rather than doing more in rush and not understanding properly. Trust Me. It has happened to me. Whatever you do, do very thoroughly.

Good Luck
