WW Child's Play; a noob game

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
SFsteph's page is set to private, so no one can look at it. Did she always have these settings, or is that new as of game?

I viewed SFSteph's post history yesterday, but I'm not sure if I did it through her profile or through the loophole that lets you view a poster's history without going directly through their profile. She had only recently starting posting though...I feel like the default is open privacy settings, and though those who have been around for years may have had other opportunities to set to private, Steph probably doesn't have any reason besides this game.

Day 2 Lynch Tally

Mouse (4) - PinkPuppy, FinDog, Kam, Hazel
Trilt (1) - PBC

5/20 voting

I still am slightly inclined to lynch inactives. I feel like we just got really horribly unlucky with Chordata being unable to talk. I don't think the mods would make multiple people have that ability. I feel like they really aren't helping by not posting, they could easily be a wolf just watching from the wings and only pouncing at night. But that's just my thoughts. Honestly, I'm waffling a bit on who to vote for. Luckily we still have some time to decide.

Who said Chordata wasn't able to talk? Was this something I missed?

I was under the impression that the only reason we didn't hear from Chordata was because they had an interview and just weren't online during all our deliberation.

Hey guys. I am also a big giant waffler. I don't think that people can't come on and defend themselves usually, at least if they do have weird rules it seems like its just that they can only post certain things. Even then, I think they usually only last for like a day??

I'm split between being suspicious of people and just thinking we should get rid of the remaining inactives and let the active players who maybe have special tools or abilities start calling out who the wolves are... without getting themselves offed in the night.

However, I have had a splitting headache for the last 3 hours (IRL) and don't know how much more I'll be participating tonight so for now I'll just follow my big bro and Lynch Mouse

I may have misinterpreted "forgot how" in the write up. I thought that meant they couldn't talk even if they wanted to. That may be my bad.

The lynch write-up said of Chordata "he had not spoken a word in so long, he had completely forgotten how". To me, this sounded like plotline retcon, added for the sake of storytelling, not an actual character restriction. I think there have been wolves with silencing abilities in previous games, though. Need to study some history when I get home.

Gotcha. I think I just read into it too much then. We still haven't heard from two players, correct?

I understand the "lynching inavtices" tactic, but I feel like we need to find the wolves, because they are clearly killing off the active players. They don't care about active-ness. They wan't us all DEAD

I'm finally off work. I'll read over the next hour to really catch up, then I'll give my lynch vote

Who are you proposing to lynch hazel? Any leads?

Sorry I haven't been posting much, guys. I've got four tests next week, so I've been busy studying for those, and I've been trying to help a friend prepare to take his GRE on Monday.

I am watching this thread and reading through everyone's posts! I'm just not the most active in actually posting. I'm going to mull over the last few pages for a bit and decide who I want to lynch.

I just tested this out on myself...you get an "engaged in conversation" status just from reading your inbox thread. Doesn't necessarily mean you're sending or receiving.

I don't know.. I'm scared to say and be wrong, or get eaten because of my thoughts. But I'm highly suspicious of swiniazi. They have barely posted, and when they did, they lynched. Idk.. I have a bad feeling about them.

They have also played before I believe, so they may be a bit less nooby than the rest of us which could either be dangerous or helpful depending on where they fall. I personally have no feels on them currently.

Unlynch mouse
Lynch swiniazi

For now atleast...

I'm just very suspicious. They may defend themselves if they wish, but mouse is still a suspicious character as well.

There's a couple of people I'm suspicious of, but I still feel like it's too early to say anything conclusive.

So... I guess, for now, I'll just keep picking off the inactive players. I may redact this vote later.

lynch klmn87

Yeah, swiniazycie has played WW several times before, I believe. I don't currently have any real feelings on her either way.

oh noooooooooooooo not shark and lady! :sorry: some of our most active helpers...RIP

Ok, I'm a bit worried of all these "lynch Mouse" votes though...sure, it's a bit suspicious that we didn't get any further information on their contraption, but I know there are definitely roles of this type that would help us identify wolves (seems a bit unwise to just blurt that info out immediately, sure, but given all the suspicion that's sprung up around them afterward, wouldn't it be an unwise distraction tactic as well? Now everyone's targeting them...doesn't seem like a good idea for a wolf)

So even with all the suspicions, given the possibility that they may be able to help us I don't want them lynched! I think we should take another look at some of the less-chatty players...personally, I'm still wary of KLMN, but unfortunately I wasn't able to find any more solid evidence. Gonna keep an eye on them, and continue investigating everything before I settle on who to accuse tonight.

It seems weird that the wolves didn't go after mouse after that bold statement. You'd think they would kill her/him off. Is it possible the silenced mouse for the day instead so he/she couldn't tell us the results of the contraption? I'm still not sure who to lynch tonight.

This is one reason I am somewhat willing to give mouse the benefit of the doubt for one night. Maybe there is an item or action currently happening that we don't know about. I agree that it's strange.... but I don't want to ruin something that could be extremely helpful. I'm also still wondering if it was more of a role reveal tactic than an implication of actually inventing something.

'

Swin claims to be affiliated with myself/cough/vdubs.
At the point in time we do not know for sure that this a valid claim... BUT no one else has come forward claiming to be the fourth so that makes it more likely (in my mind) that Swin is telling the truth. She was however, the last to come forward and the only one who hasn't dropped hints letting us other three know that she is of the same story. Swin claims her lack of posting is due to being a vet student. This may or may not be true.

I've not strong vibes from swin either way. For now I'm content to watch her carefully, deciding whether she is one of my party or not.
If she is one of my party, I must say that she is no threat to you.
If not then the fact that she lied would make her very threatening.

:O Could they do that? Silence the Mouse for a day?
If this is a possibility then perhaps alohacat is right and we should give mouse a day.
I don't know. But then who to lynch, who to lynch.

I still would like an answer from @rockatiel like I asked earlier.... Not that i really have many suspicious feeling there, I just want more answers.

I just don't want to get rid of a helpful villager again 🙁 However, my main suspicion is the fact that Mouse jumped on here, made that claim, and didn't get picked off overnight. The wolves would have gone straight for Mouse, don't you think? Mouse was too comfortable in revealing that. Maybe a noob error, maybe not. We've repeatedly asked Mouse to chime in, and we know they've been online, and they haven't given me any reason not to be as suspicious anymore. For now, I am least trusting of Mouse.

@rockatiel I'm interested to hear more about you. You're one of the quiet ones who only appears every once in a while. You say you're in a movie? Anything else to add? Recent movie? Like Disney/Pixar etc since those are usually the kids one? It worries me that you're so quiet.

Recent movie, recent children's book series. One of my faves when I was a kid! And I'm very busy, and don't have time to be on all day.

Thought vomit:

Both @heyyimhayley and @klmn87 have signed in to SDN today, so I don't think they qualify as inactive in the same way that Chordata, who hadn't signed on since the start of the game, does. At this point though, I don't understand how it could be considered a good strategy, from a wolf's perspective, to remain so conspicuously absent from the thread. We've made it clear that it raises suspicion, and it got Chordata lynched last night. Why would a wolf just sit back and let it happen? I'm inclined to think that either a.) there are items, abilities, or character restrictions specifically preventing these two (or more) from posting, or b.) our wolves don't think we'd choose to lynch an inactive player twice in a row.

Mouse has at least logged in and read through her PMs. She was last seen (in conversation) at 2:31pm, which is after PBC paged her asking about the item she's inventing, but just minutes before pinkpuppy voted to lynch her. Why wouldn't she post? Sure, maybe she was silenced by the wolves, who know that they can kill her off tonight before she gets the chance to rat any of them out. But she'd barely posted the night before either....just the one, quick drop in to role reveal and split.

@Mouse2106, if you are actually a villager with an important role, you've already put yourself in the line of fire. Might as well come completely clean to save yourself from the lynch. It's possible we have a villager with protective powers, so if we believe you're one of us, you probably have a better chance of survival.

@Devastating's status says she is currently "managing account details", which I assume means she is setting her profile to private. Suspicious. It's likely that @SFsteph recently changed her profile to private as well. I notice @Caiter92's profile is also private, and she's seemed suspicious from the beginning. Seems SUPER wolfy to me, moreso than anything else so far.

So..for now, until I hear a good argument otherwise...

Unlynch Mouse, lynch Devastating.

I'm trusting of mouse as well (for now).

And Lynch Vdub

I don't have a strong feeling yet about any of the other candidates.

I have to agree. With caiter being suspicious honestly. Lynch caiter

Exactly. Unless the wolves somehow knew about katashark's ability and decided it was more important to take her out of the game. It seems like it should have been way more important to remove mouse.

But still - if a wolf posted just once, only to tell us they were making an item to detect wolves - I mean, that's a pretty insane lie. I want to hear from mouse.

I'm also kind of suspicious that the wolves didn't lynch Mouse for that comment... but I also really question whether she's a wolf, considering she made a really bold statement during a time where everyone else was being really cagey about details. If she was an experienced player I'd say she's just bluffing, but since this is her first time playing that seems way more - forward thinking? bold? than I'd suppose her to be.

I'm more wondering why they decided to kill katashark, of all people.

I'm more wondering why they decided to kill katashark, of all people.

I'd guess they might have a seer, since both kills were villagers with pretty useful abilities.

If changing my profile to private makes me suspicious ill change it back. I just started an account with SDN and am getting us to all this. Sorry I like privacy lol

Just catching up rn too what are the reasons behind everyone wanting to lynch mouse??

Just catching up rn too what are the reasons behind everyone wanting to lynch mouse??
I think the reason why people are jumping on Mouse so much is because she seemed rather oddly forward with sharing her role with everyone yesterday. Like Trilt said, if she was an experienced player, it'd make a bit more sense and could probably be excused as simply bluffing, but it is quite bold to just lay it out like that as a first-time player.

Initially I threw caiter's name out by random, but have said multiple times I find her a bit suspicious due to her lack of defense. I still question Vdubs as well. She wanted an alliance and has since skated under the radar quite a bit. I think I am personally going to give mouse the benefit for one day. I'm suspicious though for sure.

See, to me, setting your profile to private in the middle of a WW game is NOT something you do because you're just getting started with SDN. You're probably less likely to even realize it's an option. To me, it sounds like something you do as a defensive measure, possibly at the advisement of a mentor or a wolf pack. Why would a villager care to protect their profile?

I think it's more suspicious that she was that forward, then didn't die overnight.

I personally wouldn't want someone to see me interacting with my mentor heavily because that could indicate I have a good item or something like that. But that's just how I think. I'm less suspicious of people who are hiding their profiles, mostly because now I think it's a knee-jerk reaction to it having been brought up in the thread

MTE. Either someone was able to protect her, or she didn't need protection in the first place.

Side note: I keep forgetting to talk in character....

It's getting too cold outside! I could go for a bowl of porridge.

Yeah, sorry, that's more along the lines of what I meant. Was going to post again elaborating on that a bit more since we can't edit.
