Mine was just to start the ball rolling and I had to pick someway. Fairytales are often based on silly things like unlucky numbers. So that was my sole reasoning. I could easily be convinced to change though.
 
I don't think @LadyOtheFarm was backtracking, I think she was just pointing out that I'd guessed wrong between Tom and Huck.

LOTF role revealed pretty early and it felt genuine to me. If she was a wolf making up a role as cover, it would be a pretty bold move to pick a a classic American lit character when so far we'd assumed everyone was from a more traditional fantasy/fairy tale story. It rings true to me. She seems to be genuinely working to figure the game out from the perspective of a villager. Sure, it could be a ruse, but I'd rather lose someone who hasn't posted at all at this point.

It occurs to me that publicly "discovering" themselves to be in an alliance of 4 could be a good cover for wolves who want to participate to keep from drawing suspicion. In a game of 23, 4 wolves sounds reasonable to me. @kcoughli, @finnickthedog, @Vdubs03....any hints as to what the story might be that links you together?

@pinkpuppy9, have you looked more into your story? Any info about the role you think you and other related characters might play?

I still don't fully trust the other 2 because I was the one who mentioned the number of partners I should supposedly have. I've also given hints as to what story I'm from, but don't want to throw it out there in case the other two aren't genuine. Still don't know who the 4th is.

I have a guess based on what you've posted, but I'd like to see if the other 2 (or three) say something that would support it.

I actually agree, which is why when someone asked about whether the rest of us had obvious partner protagonists I said nothing until someone else spoke up about having 3. It still could be coincidence. There's a chance we're not from the same story at all. Although if the fourth shows up that makes it more likely that we're a matched set.

Given that there are four of us and we are possibly from the same story, I hesitate to reveal to much out of respect for them. After all, it's not just me I might be revealing information about.

I'm a boy if that helps you at all. The other three from my story consist of both boys and girls.
 
Literally just voted for caiter because #13. Also, I am suspicious of the silent ones as well. I have not gotten a wolf vibe from anyone who has posted so far, but then again, maybe they are just super sneaky!

At first I was like how to y'all have free time??? Why are there more posts than I can read?? Then I remembered oh right i'm in vet school drowning in anatomy.

I don't think Lady is a wolf. She just sounds excited.

I'm more ok with lynching quiet people the first round just because if you're not at least checking in and saying any thing now we'll forget about them and then they'll be the quiet sneaky wolf at the end or a villager who just sits there. So I don't want to lynch anyone at this current moment. I'll set an alarm before the deadline because I forget everything.

Don't feel bad. Like I said earlier, I know that at least several of you guys are in vet school so I personally understand if your activity is a bit slower than others'. That's why I'm more suspicious of the quiet pre-vets than you guys. 😉

Though I will say... I'm drowning in immunology and biochem at the moment, myself, so I can sympathize.
 
And, yeah, I ultimately decided not to lynch LotF because she just sounds excited to play moreso than wants us to fall for any wolfy charades.
 
I think I'm representing the lazy 3rd year vet student who is just over school and excited about distractions that aren't lectures. Saturday will be the rough day for me since I'm going to a wedding, but school days I'm just constantly refreshing this thread.

I still think we should lynch someone who hasn't even made an appearance. The rest of us are at least excited to be here 😛

I'm in that group too, haha. we only have lectures til noon most days. I dont start my techniques/labs until next Friday so until then I have free time to procrastinate 🙄 I'm leaning towards lynching a quiet person as well. After this first round we'll have more to go on.

Assuming the "last seen" thing in indicative of when the person was last on SDN...
KLMN, Heyimhayley & Chordata haven't been on SDN since the game started.
Trilt was around until almost midnight EST last night and liked the first post but never commented. She is in clinics though....

There are a few people who have been commenting who I'm suspicious of but I don't want to throw any accusations out just yet.
 
One thing i find interesting is Vdubs has appeared once, only to ask about an alliance with kcoughli. Seems odd to me that the only contribution she added was to allign with another person.

Secondly Mouse said they are working on some whole theory thing to make wolves "shed" then threw out a lynch vote and disappeared again. If one has time to make a contraption of sorts or whatever it is they were implying, you would think they would likely have time to post their thoughts and ideas.

Considering the only reason there is a bandwagon is I happen to be the 13th person who signed up, I don't really see how I'm suppose to defend my self?

Im keeping my vote the same for now. I didn't think Lotf might be a wolf because of how she was acting, just based on her role. Even if she is Huck instead of Tom, she's still not an innocent child character. Even if she isn't a wolf I feel like she's chaos, and not a villager. Huck was quite the trouble maker himself from what I remember, so it would fit.

So still Lynch Lotf for now.

I'm open to lynching someone who's been inactive as well though, so I might change my vote.

I think my character fits perfectly as a hero villager in this description. Are you going to claim your character is Miss Goody 2 Shoes and has no flaw to overcome?

The way you defend yourself is tell us something about who you are besides being "unlucky" number 13. I like the number, hence that would not be my reasoning. An unwillingness to share any info and an insistence on accusing an open villager on the other hand...

So, as a mentor-type tip, I will offer up what I did when I first started playing these games. Use this thread http://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/celebrating-two-years-of-ww-games-in-pre-vet.983713/ to pick out some games and using the search function in the upper right hand corner, go through mod lynch and night write-up posts (using their handle and search this thread) to try and find a person who had a role similar to yours. Once you find them, speed read through some of their posts to get ideas. ( using the search function again). I went through 4-5 games usually to help me put together how to best use the role.

Feel free to also type WW into the search bar and it will bring up more recent games that have not made it to the celebrating WW thread.

Anywho, I am pleased with all your efforts so far!!! Carry on.

I have to say, I'm wary of the votes to lynch LOTF, who seems to be an active, strategic player who has made good arguments to support the claim that she's a villager. She could be playing us, of course, but I'd really like to hear some sort of defense from @Caiter92 besides "isn't me".

For now, though, lynch Chordata.

I don't think Aloha's a wolf, and I don't think there's much reason to think so either. As Dorothy, I could see her having a useful ability or item for further down the road. You haven't wavered since your initial accusation against her, and it seems suspicious. Plus, feels.

Eh, I don't see how I'm posting is any different from anyone else. And you're now suspicious of me based on nothing else but how I'm supposedly posting, which is no different from what people where doing to you earlier 😛 I haven't role revealed yet cause it's the first day, and most people haven't. And no one has any theories about me for me to respond to aside from the 13 thing, which I can't really do anything about.

I'm not just voting to lynch you just because. I'm basing it on what I know about your character, not how you're posting. I'm not against changing it, I just don't want to randomly lynch another person when I feel like there might be a reason to be suspicious of you.

I'll look at the link pp posted, and look up some other fairytales as well to see if anyone else sounds suspicious.

I may be a noob... but do you honestly think i am stupid enough to hint at myself being a wolf??? hahahahaha no.

Anyways like i said earlier, I am a GIRL. My entire role in an innocent young girl. yes she has a dog, but I am not the dog. aka villager. I'm with Kam, you are very eager to go after me.
 
Thought through things a bit more. I decided that it'd probably be more advantageous to just pick off the non-participating people right away. Silence is suspicious. Who knows, one of them could be a wolf, after all.

I'm only eager to go after you because you were too eager to lynch. I never called you stupid, I don't think you need to take it there.

You guys, Dorothy isn't even a character from a fairy tale. She doesn't fits this game's theme. Aloha is just playing along with what others are assuming to protect herself. For now, until (hopefully) others start participating, I'm gonna leave my vote where it is now.

I think you're limiting the scope of the theme a bit too much to be reasonable. The Wizard of Oz is as much a fairy tale as the traditional Grimm's collection, and there's enough testimony to assume that the mods haven't limited their character selection to a single genre. That doesn't sound like SOV or Lupin anyway.
 
Like I said previously, someone has to lynch first. Tom and Huck aren't fairytale characters either, and that is the story LadyOtheFarm is claiming.

I don't think either you or I are going to sway, but I find it interesting that you have no reasoning beyond that I was the first to lynch but are so completely dead set on lynching me. 1. You are coming up with theories attempting to incriminate me that are slightly ridiculous such as that I would hint at being a wolf. 2. When asked about your own roles and such you became extremely defensive but provided no real information. 3. Feels. At this point though, it is what it is, it is up to the rest of the players to decide what they believe to be the truth. I am being honest in explaining my role, but in a game of ww there is no real way to prove that.
 
I don't think it would make any sense for Aloha to say that she is a girl with a dog if the dog meant she is a wolf. That would be silly. I think saying she is the wolf-child is a bit far-fetched, IMO. Personally, I think you're trying to divert attention away from yourself. Unless I'm mistaken, you have not once claimed that you are not a wolf. Nor have you said that you're a villager. Just that you aren't sure of your role. Seems more suspicious to me than Aloha does! Also, Huck isn't exactly a fairytale role. My role is a young girl who isn't really considered a true fairytale either. Dorothy is definitely believable.
So for now, unless I hear compelling evidence otherwise,

Also, fairy tales and folk lore are never 100% to the book. Just because the link I sent refers to a young boy doesn't mean the role couldn't be flexed because you're a girl.

Maybe guessing at roles is giving people guises and they're just going with them. We're making it too easy. Apparently I'm not though, because I've been talking in character this whole time. Too obvious, I thought. Guess I was wrong...I'm afraid to reveal too much because the wolves in this game might be looking for their villager matches. Or maybe I'm reading into this game too much 😛

Mods, can you comment on your interpretations of what fairy tales are?

Dorothy is as much a viable character as Tom Sawyer/Huck Finn. Moreso even since her story does involve magic. I'd buy Dorothy more than some random unheard of Portuguese folk tale.

I'd prefer to get rid of someone who isn't participating. Hopefully we'll learn something overnight and be able to take it and turn it into something useful.

I think the girl with the dog makes the most sense to be Dorothy.
If we assume that people have their matches in the game that means that Tom Sawyer. should also be a character

Kiki was never established.

There is also a story with 3 protagonists. Couldn't that be Dorothy/tin man/lion/scarecrow?
