So I've pretty much been searching for what feels like forever to find out the admissions timeline (or really anything about the admissions process!) to UCD Dublin. I've sent them all my stuff and done the online application and everything, but does anyone know anything about when they let you know or how they do things? I've heard they don't do interviews, but that's pretty much all I've heard🙁 Anyone else know anything??
 
I read on their information page on VMCAS that notifications will be in March.

I still have to turn in my personal statement for the supplemental. I have no idea what more I can write to "Why I want to go to Dublin?" Can't the answer be just because I want to since the US schools seem to be more selective? LOL
 
On that note, I've tried looking up videos and information on the Graduate Entry programma but the link seems to be broken on the UCD vetmed website. Does anyone have a link (other than the AVMA website) on the vet program?

Just wondering if any of you know the difference between applying through the Atlantic Bridge Program and VMCAS?

Why are there two methods of entry for North American students?

So I'm assuming everyone got the email from John last week about them reviewing our applications and whatnot (eek so nervewracking!) but does anyone happen to know if notifications are sent strictly by mail or do they email as well? Basically trying to figure out if it will really be 2-3 weeks like they said or if it will really be more like 4-5 weeks because of international shipping time? I reallllly hope they email!!!!

I think last year they actually called people that were accepted.

I'm assuming that since they've done everything by email, that they will notify us like that. Who knows? Maybe they will just decide to be traditional and send us our admissions status through snail mail. :laugh: I'm dying to hear from them already!:scared:
 
I can tell you anything you need to know about the Grad Entry program til the website goes up. They've been following us around and taking pictures and collecting quotes for it - which is probably why its not working....its not done yet 🙂

They mail via snail mail a packet to me with my offer and information in early March. Maybe because it was the first year and they were still a bit unorganized they contacted some by email and some by snail mail. But then again, they were still filling holes through the summer before we started so who knows.

The school is okay. Just like most universities i guess. European schools are different than US schools but its okay. http://ucdlife.ucd.ie/video.php this is a link to a bunch of videos students made about life on campus to help give you an idea. Dublin is amaaaaaazing 🙂 bus system is a little iffy, but youll get there eventually. its all grand! 😉 the rest of ireland is beautiful and highly recommended that you visit/ take trips around ireland and europe when you have the opportunity just to get away and get perspective. its easy to get burned out with coursework so a little break away can totally refresh your drive.
 
Another week beginning... Will this be the week we hear from Dublin? Anyone as stressed out/nervous/excited to hear from them as I am?!?!

YES! I'm constantly looking b/w my emails, snail mail, and even the supplemental application page just in case the status of N/A changed to something else.
 
I know i can't wait... i check my e-mail a million times a day!
 
Is this the week three or two? I have lost all track of time.

So I get out of class and I have a voicemail from the Dean of the college of vetmed saying, "Good afternoon, I'm sorry we missed you, just wanted to let you know we have some good news regarding your application! We will also be sending you an e-mail shortly!" Of course my cell can't call internationally so I can't call them back...DOES THIS MEAN WHAT I THINK/HOPE IT MEANS????? AHHHHH!!!🙂🙂

!!!!!Omgomgomg!!! The suspense! That's such a cliffhanger that your cell can't call internationally. CHECK YOUR EMAIL!!! I wanna hear the good news!!👍👍

Yes it does Katy because they called me this morning and told me i was accepted. Congratulations!

Thanks Dogtyred and CONGRATS!!! I was soooo mad that I missed her message...stupid class! Anyway did you receive an email yet? I still haven't gotten one and the suspense is killing me!!!
 
Dublin JUST CALLED me about 3 minutes ago! I'm in! Keep up hope and don't check your status page from your application. I did after seeing people were getting calls, and it said n/a. But they just called me. +353 (1) is how the number started so I had a good feeling when I saw it!!!!
 
I just got a call from the Dean, I got in too!!! I'm still sure about Edinburgh but its nice to have something to fall back on if for some reason I can't make my conditions.

I have not received an email yet. I'm thinking it might not come for a while (maybe tomorrow). Just a hunch though.
 
From the people who have heard, are you near the beginning of the alphabet? just wondering if maybe they are making calls in alphabetical order. Not that it matters, if i get a call, I get one. Buuuuuuuuuut trying to reason and what not helps ease the suspense.

The Dean told me on the phone that if we have any questions, we can e-mail John Buckley (I believe his name is). But she said that they are snail mailing the packets of information, and didn't say anything about sending any e-mails. But maybe since you missed the phone call katydid then they will be e-mailing you? I'm pretty sure they aren't calling about rejections. One of the first things she said was that she had good news regarding my application...

My last name starts with an H, and yes, they called my cell phone. 🙂
 
Last name starts with R... but I got the voice mail!!! NOOOO... I need the e-mail to be sure! No one got anything other than an acceptance call? I can't wait till I get the e-mail!

I got the same voicemail too... 😀 I know that they wouldn't say that they have "good news about my application" if they wanted to reject me or tell me I made it to the next step of the application process, but it just isn't real until they tell me I'm accepted... Oh jeez, now all I can think is, "I (most likely and hopefully) got into to vet school!" Oh boy... :xf:
 
Sorry, I forgot to include that my last name starts with M and I got the call at 10:30 pst 🙂

I don't think they got all the calls done in one day. Keep in mind that Dublin is 8 hours ahead of CA (that's how I think of it, since that's where I'm from). So they called me at about 11am, which is about 7pm over there. I'm sure the Dean doesn't want to stick around for THAT long past normal business hours making phone calls.

Keep your hopes up! They might start another round of calls tomorrow morning. I'm sure they want to try to call people at the best time to possibly talk to them in person. Tomorrow's another day! 🙂
 
I just spoke to the fabulous Mr. John Buckley and he confirmed that that message means you are accepted😀 He also said he was going to be sending out e-mails to all who are accepted today, so be on the lookout!!
