Can anyone comment on the lifestyle of being an general internist in the Army? Do you work only hospital or only clinic, or a mix? Do you have a choice on what you want to do in that regard, i.e. Just be an internist working outpatient 8-5 vs internist working 7 12's on, 7 off?
Thanks for any...
Hello,
I am a PGY-1 in a IM/Peds program and am strongly considering switching to PM&R. I did two PM&R rotations as a med student, and actually applied to and interviewed in IM/Peds, IM and PM&R, with my rank list looking like 1 IM/Peds program (the one I matched in), then 4 PM&R programs (I've...
Could anyone offer their experiences at Yale as an elective student?
I've been accepted for IM-Gastro and IM-Allergy/Immuno and a friend of mine I think has been accepted for General Surgery.
If anyone could offer their experiences or advice as to whether it's worth taking, I'd appreciate it...

Hi all. So I saw the post from 2007 when searching my program on Google that said SAY NO TO SUNY DOWNSTATE. I was not here in 2007, but I can speak for 2017. I am coming from a US medical school, so I was not desperate for a residency program. The thing that stuck out most to me on interview day...

Hi y'all,
I graduated from medical school in 2014 and started OB/GYN residency training at that time up until June 2016. I had family issues that I had to take care of which messed with my ability to pass USMLE Step 3 within the three allowed attempts for Texas licensure and for contract...

Hey guys,
I am debating on attending KCU next year and am aspiring to become a cardiologist. I understand that although DOs can specialize in anything I was wondering if there are any biases in regards to ACGME fellowships after doing a ACGME internal medicine residency. I chose to go the DO...
Hey all, I'm in mainly applying to allopathic IM programs but am interested in applying for 2 dually-accredited IM programs via the NMS and NRMP matches. I have 3 of the 4 letters I need thus far. If I assign 3 of the letters before the 4th one is uploaded, would I still be able to upload the...
Hello, first of all I want to thank you all for helping me survive med school. I'm an AMG and I'm putting together my residency application for IM. I'm bilingual and I would like to match into a program with a high volume of Spanish speaking patients. The city/location is not important. Could...
I'm a DO med student. I scored a 223 on step 1, then a 240 on step 2 CK. I also scored super high on my COMLEX Level 2 (665). Question 1) How closely do programs look at step 2 if it's submitted on ERAS? Question 2) How many ACGME programs do you think take a good look at COMLEX? Thanks!
From my knowledge, if one would like to go into Oncology or Hem/Onc, one would first apply for an Internal Medicine residency, then later apply for an Oncology sub-specialty training.
Is that always the training pathway, or are there "Oncology residency program" that you can apply for right...
