If you got the email from Dr. Sanford saying they got your secondary, then I'd say just wait, usually they get back to you within 4 weeks after getting your secondary. If you did not get the email from him saying they got your secondary, you should def call.

I was writing Georgetown's secondary this morning when I saw the little (1) pop up next to my inbox, lo and behold I have an interview offer for sometime in October!

I was bouncing around the house for about an hour, naturally. I sent in my supplemental application last Tuesday, so their office must have a very quick turnaround. I just hope I can schedule the interview on Columbus day, otherwise I'm going to have to miss class (it's a 7-8 hour drive from DC).

yea that does kind of suck. i was complete on the 22 and invited on the 23 for a september interview. its odd that yours is so late.

yayyy i got a november interview! my first real invitation 🙂 exciting times lol

those who got earlier interviews, are you OOS?

Hold for me. Lame...

Is anyone rejected from UConn this early or is hold the only alternative to interview?

who was it that said earlier interviews correlate with higher chance of admissions...ziggy was that you?

How do you know that? just curious.

Best of luck to all.

(I am instate...FWIW)

Yar, true enough. and Apparently "inside source" an interview from Aug. to Oct. usually means a BIG chance of acceptance... so lets hope for that interview everyone 🙂
nov 🙁

oh well, seems like i still have an ok shot

Ya, I knew a student on the admissions committee, ( they have second years do interviews and stuff). She told me about the interviewing timetable, but I've never heard about ppl getting placed for late interview dates that got invited this early. I actually emailed Dr. Sanford, and trying to get a meeting with him lol. Hopefully he won't think I'm crazy.

I am also in state, so maybe they just didn't love my app. Idk, I'm going crazy about such a late interview date.

gotcha. well, I know that many people get in w/ jan, feb, and later interview dates. You have a great shot! Hey--- you have much more time to prepare, right? ;-)

i got put "on hold" also. at least they didn't outright reject me...??

Sure, definitely beats the rejects that are flying out of Boston University already, lol.

Holy smokes, ur post just made me check and recheck my BU status, and email. its sad in that thread.

And Sorry to hear that you got put on hold twin, at least they will def look at it again.

Has anyone figured out why on the same day, interview invites were sent out but some were given a September date and some were given Dec dates? It doesn't make any sense to me. I would assume that since we were all early, they would give us the early invites.

Perhaps a call to the adcom may explain this?

yeah lol it's like dating... "we are not outright rejecting you, but we're stringing you along in case nothing better comes along"

camaras, are you doing a long-term study of the effects of prolonged exposure to SDN?

you are here always!

lol actually, quite the contrary - short-term analysis. I've only been active for about a month and a half! 🙂

Over 1500 posts in a month and half? UNREAL... lol, on second thought, I think at this rate I'll prob be just as ridiculous. SDN is "Crack", where else am I gonna have other CRAZY pre-meds to talk to about how HORRIBLE this whole process is, and where whining about not getting in is "justified" :meanie:

lol this is true, but I expect to be active through like October, after which the WAMC forums will die down (I would imagine). But yeah, certainly a fun forum.

P.S. we have similar join dates lol

Yar... and soon to be two year members

Haha camaras always trying to be mean and smart as always. Good looks bud. Anyway, why do you guys think some were given early invites and some were given late invites even though the invites were sent on the same day. Early invites more interesting applicants?😕 OR......

And camaras don't answer this question. Someone else please...lol

I'm considering adding UConn to my AMCAS. Does anyone (maybe current M1 or M2) know if:

1) Lecture attendance is mandatory? (I assume the "Correlated Medical Problem Solving" sessions and SCP would be...)
2) Lectures are available online?

Any help much appreciated. Thanks!

If no one answers here, I'd just go join a facebook group like UConn Med Class of 2013 or something. I'm sure there is one, and you could ask there.

not a med student but I work at the school, so lecture attendance= not mandatory, classes go from 8 to 12 every morning, and yes the problem based learning sessions are mandatory.

Yes professors post lectures online

Lectures are not mandatory. PBL (CMPS), SCP, PCM, and anatomy are mandatory.

They do not post video lectures online. They are just audio MP3s. Good luck to all you guys...def a great school.

I am also on hold, but I guess that is better than a big fat "NOT IN THIS LIFE TIME CHEIF"

So its the waiting game.

Hmmm...has everyone who submitted a secondary gotten a confirmation from Dr. Sanford? I sent mine in on Friday, but nothing yet. Maybe there is a backlog.

when i sent mine in (7/15), it was one day turnaround. but i agree, it could be the big rush of apps now.

Do we get a secondary invite via email like usual? I had my primary verified 2 weeks ago, all the schools have sent me secondaries by now except Connecticut. Hmmm...

Anyone have any details on this?
"Additionally, the School of Medicine is serving as a pilot school for Background Checks beginning with the 2009 admissions cycle."

Has anyone gotten any info on what the phone/email "credential review" is all about?

I was put on hold on 8/4 and the email was a combined "File complete - preliminary review = hold status" that came within a week of my secondary submission (online + mail). Trying not to be too sad since I'm OOS - but I would really like to be considered here and have strong ties to CT. I'm hoping I'll be reconsidered in Dec./Jan. Although I believe they interview only about 6% of OOS'ers.

Yes, the secondary came by email. And you have to submit it back by both email and snail mail. No online website like most of the other schools. I was verified by AMCAS on 7/1 and received my secondary from UConn on 7/2.

interview invite today too! OOS, 3.8/38. interview is in october. i would have been complete around last friday (8/7)
