I interviewed on Monday, 11/28. They had told us that some of us might be told on 12/7, but for those of us that they didn't get to, we'd be pushed back to after winter break.

Never got a chance to get back on here, but just after i got a waitlist email, i got an MD/MPH email acceptance!!

...i guess the waitlist was for the MD program even though I remember applying MD/MPH only

To everyone else waiting to hear what is going on -- I interviewed 11/11, and when I did not hear last night or this morning I was quite bummed, thinking that I was out of the running. I called the admissions office this morning, and asked if my file status could be checked. Apparently, they did not get through all the files, and I will not be reviewed until January 11th. So... do not despair if you did not hear!

No call. No e-mail. Admissions told me my file is up for 01/11/12.

Is anyone interviewing for the MD/MPH program Monday and Tuesday 1/9/2012 and 1/10/2012 and want to rent a car? I heard public transportation isn't the best near the regional campus and my student host lives 17 mi from campus...
 
TIKVAH, I am interviewing that same time. I am interested in renting a car with you. I am oos so I will be flying in on 1/8

I haven't had any information about a student host though, when did you find out about that?
 
I read on last year's thread that nobody got accepted off the alternate list. Does anyone know if they are anticipating a similar situation this year?
 
I was put on the alternate list October 27th and accepted November 17th. I also know someone else who had the same thing happen.
 
Did you send any updates after you were placed on the alternate list?
 
+2 =\ but i think someone mentioned that miami's slow? maybe it's okay that we still haven't heard back?
 
got into my #1.. withdrawing from Miami..hopefully one of you guys gets my spot

Would anybody happen to know if we were asked to submit our fall semester grades, or should we wait until we have our final transcript at graduation? Thank you!
 
Woo! II today (OOS, complete since 8/1). So awesome!

Except that all the possible dates (4 of them) are in the next few weeks and I live/work in Boston and need to book a flight. My 4th choice is this Monday and my 2nd choice is a week from today, that's how bad the options are. Should I expect to hear back from them on Monday? Clock's ticking to not have to sell a kidney for a flight three days in advance. I'm hoping for 1/30, which still is not too far off.
 
i have a miami secondary that i've been holding on to and it's filled out and everything.
deadlines 1/15
should i still send it in? only a $75 fee, but it's really late in the cycle!
OOS, >32 MCAT, >3.6 GPA

congrats. Also good to know that those of use who've been complete for months may still get an interview. not sure how much longer they'll be giving them out though. Hope I get one soon.
 
lov2bloved: I submitted a secondary (for a different school) the day before the deadline (Dec 15) and still received an interview invite...not sure what the odds are at Miami, but I'd say go for it/you might as well
 
Wasn't today supposed to be an acceptance notification date? Doesn't look like it since no one has posted about it...

Could have sworn admissions told me and other people January 11th was the day...

Today is the date I was told. It certainly is possible that those accepted are too busy celebrating to post on SDN. I wish they would just update everyone's status at the same time, instead of notifying only the acceptees. Oh well.
 
It is! accepted into MD and MD/MPH program!! But just got my call a little bit ago. Hang in there and good luck!!

I got an email this morning saying I was placed on the alternate list 🙁
Guess it could have been worse

What are my odds of getting in off wait list?
 
Same here - also received e-mail with waitlist. Apparently between mid May and mid June most of the waitlist movement occurs. There is supposedly a very high chance of removal from waitlist, according to a previous message board post from Dr. Hinkley. However, I have heard to the contrary from students - so who knows....
 
Yeah, woke up to that waitlisted email as well. We just have to hang in there.

waitlist too...from students I hear waitlisters hardly get accepted.
 
Woke up to an e-mail...to submit two new reference letters...

Hahaha, UM has put me through the ringer, that's for sure...still no wait-list though!
 
Does anyone know how long they interview? I'd give a kidney for an invite. I also said this for U. So Cal. I should probably stop saying that...
 
Silly question. I have an interview here tomorrow and was wondering if there is a breakfast served? Please let me know. Thank you
 
There will be plenty to eat (if you are not one of those super picky vegan-gluten-free-calorie counting-etc-eaters etc). They had a decent seletion of pastries - some cofee, and orange juice...get there early and enjoy your breakfast before the formal program is underway. Lunch is catered - so no starving there either!! Good luck!

There will be plenty to eat (if you are not one of those super picky vegan-gluten-free-calorie counting-etc-eaters etc). They had a decent seletion of pastries - some cofee, and orange juice...get there early and enjoy your breakfast before the formal program is underway. Lunch is catered - so no starving there either!! Good luck!

Awesome! Catered food?!?! No deli sandwiches like the other schools? Would it be wrong to make UM my new number one based on lunch alone? Thanks for the reply. Good luck with everything as well!

According to admissions, they're being more selective this year with who they're picking right off the bat due to the late interviewers...so there's going to be a lot more waitlist movement this year IMO. Or maybe I'm just being optimistic since I'm on that list as well.

Yeah, the food they had was great; I was just bummed that I had an interview at 1 pm so my stomach and mind clearly were not into it. Plus I didn't want to get my shirt messy from the lasagna and my breath out of whack from the garlic bread :laugh:

To add on to this, UM's lunch is one of the best I've had at interviews. The garlic bread is awesome. So is the lasagna.🙂.
 
I got accepted to the MPH/MD program on Wednesday! I'm really happy and excited! If anyone has questions about the interview day, feel free to ask.

Are there any negatives anyone can see to this program? As far as I can tell, it's great. We the first summer break, but not the second one I think.

Would you be willing to give a brief run down of your days. I'm a little nervous about the MPH interview more so than the MD one. What types of questions do they ask at the MPH interview?
 
For the other people who got interview invites Thursday, have you heard about your interview date yet?
