Hey,
So I interviewed at Drexel in early January and I am interested in going to Drexel. What would you guys say about sending a letter of interest? Should I send it closer to the "8 weeks" post-decision time period? Or should I just send it now? If so, who's email would you guys suggest sending it to? Has anyone definitely gotten an acceptance after sending a letter of interest?

As a Philly native and someone who is friends with current Drexel med students, you should definitely stay away from East Falls and stick to center city instead for housing. East Falls is, in lack of a better adjective, boring. Center city has a great atmosphere and so much to do (plus rittenhouse square area is beautiful!. I currently live in center city (borderline south). I can give you more info and a contact for housing in my area if you PM me.

Depends on what one is looking for in a place to live. I tend to think of center city as a cesspool - too much traffic, a paucity of parking, bros, spangers, too much density, etc.. South Philly, West Philly, Fishtown, even parts of Kensington are better than center city. About the only thing I like about center city is that it is not Manayunk.

That's kind of an insane amount of time to wait... have you tried calling admissions to make sure they haven't made a mistake?

Wow, that is redic. I think you win the award for longest post-interview decision time for Drexel. I interviewed a couple weeks after you and heard back over a month ago. I agree with the other post, you may want call and see whats up.

I'm at 14 weeks post interview and my application hasn't even been seen by a committee member yet. Called and sent in an update letter. Just gotta be patient...

I've called a few times, but each time I get the same response: they are busy and backed up with applications. They tell me I'll hear within a few weeks, but a few weeks can mean one week or 8 weeks from now.

I just called again a few minutes ago and they said everything is in order. They told me my application is with the committee now and that they are awaiting a decision, but I'm not sure why my status hasn't changed yet.

I seriously kept waiting for Ashton Kutcher to jump out and tell me I was on Punk'd. The situation was that ridiculous. If I get an acceptance letter after that... whatever that was... it will be a miracle sent from god. And it sucks, because I really wanted to go to this school. It was my first choice at this point. So much for that. 🙁

Sorry to hear about your bad day 🙁 I don't know why someone so confrontational would want to be an interviewer! The one I had was really friendly and a big part of why I like the school.

I think most people hear back around the 8-12 week mark so you probably have another month or two to go.

Withdrew acceptance - I hope my spot goes to a deserving student! Drexel is a lovely school, and I had a great interview experience. Unfortunately, I would rather stay close to home, so I can take care of family.

Does anyone know who we email to withdraw an application? I already put in my deposit, but after getting accepted to NYMC I don't see myself going here. For whatever reason I deleted the email from drexel so I don't have the admissions office email if that is who we correspond with to do so.

Same here... I am in a Post-bacc program, so I sent a transcript and LOR from one of my profs. Hope they change their mind

I'm still waiting on one school post-interview. I still have not heard from around 7 schools in terms of pre-interview. What do you guys think are the chances that me, or anyone else for that matter, gets more interviews this cycle.

I have scrolled back several pages in this thread and still haven't received a definitive answer to these questions (though one post partially answered my inquiry). Several others have asked the same questions I am about to ask, without much of a reply. If anyone has any information on this, I think many of us, including myself, would greatly appreciate it !

I, (like many others posting in this thread) was recently placed on a pre-interview hold. The status update that they give you basically says, "We would like to re-evaluate your application again in the spring should interview spots remain ... we wish to hold on a final decision on your application ..." So, that being said:

(1.) Does Drexel even send out pre-interview rejections, or is this just a status that they send to everyone who doesn't get an interview at first? I think that many of us are just trying to gauge how relevant this message might be. My hope would be that they do reject some kids, and that the status that I received is a middle-of-the-road status.

(2.) Does anyone have any information on how many (if it's even a relevant amount) individuals actually come off this "list" and make it to an interview?
