I also interviewed 2/22 but have been waitlisted. My third one so far and no acceptances. Anyone have any advice on how to get off the waiting list at this school? What does it mean by the fact that this waitlist is "unranked". Does that mean we all have an equal shot? Thanks!

Are interview offers still being sent out at this point in time? Is it safe to assume that I have no shot at admissions (after being complete late in the cycle)? 🙁 Thanks for any insight!

I called last week they said they had 20 spots for 2 interview dates (one of which is today). Emailed them yesterday asking if they're still sending invites but no response.
 
Thanks!! I called the admissions office today and they said there is only one interview date left and applicants have started to be called 🙁. I guess that leaves a slim to no chance for us? 🙁 On the website it mentions that the class is full by the middle of March. *sigh*
 
Does anyone know when UF starts sending out financial aid offers?
 
I noticed on the second look weekend RSVP it asks for the number of guests that will be coming with you.... Is it normal to bring someone with you ( parent or significant other?)

Yes! there is a facebook page, but it is locked: UF COM Class of 2017. Once you get your acceptance, just message one of us (or the admin) and we will add you. Congrats!

A lot of students bring their parents. I'm probably going to ask mine to come. I would imagine students probably bring their spouses as well.
 
Declined the offer of admission months ago on the portal, but apparently that doesn't do the trick. Got a call from the school yesterday asking what was up and I officially gave up my spot. Hope you enjoy it, somebody.

Thanks! I don't think us WLister's are going to see any movement until May 15 regardless.

They sent out a fin. aid form in the mail that you need to complete in order to receive financial aid, and the priority deadline for that is April 1st, so I'm guessing probably some time in May?

When did they send it out? I never received anything..
 
Rejected today pre-interview (no surprise since interviews ended Friday). This is my alma mater so it stings a bit. Best of luck UFCOM C/O 2017. It's a great school!
 
Interviewed March 1, found out I was accepted today! SO EXCITED!!!!!

What is this Second Look I keep hearing about? I haven't gotten any info about it yet.

The way that explained it to us when I interviewed is that it IS ranked, but they don't tell anyone the rankings.
 
I think all schools have a ranked waitlist whether they admit it or not. Only makes sense. I don't know how well letter of intents change that ranking, or semester grades,etc. I would highly doubt it makes a difference.
 
Interviewed 2/22 and was waitlisted. I'm accepted at two other schools, but I liked this one the best by far. Praying that I'm gonna get accepted this summer.

Congrats! Second look is on April 5th and 6th, and I'm sure they'll send you an invitation sometime this week. It's basically an opportunity for us to meet the faculty and our future class mates as well as learn more about the curriculum and what the next four years of our lives at UF will look like.

To the people who are wait-listed, remember that usually around 60% of the students who are wait-listed at UF eventually get in. UF is very picky about who they interview, so you have a more than 50/50 shot at getting in.

60% of the people they interview get in, not 60% of the people they waitlist. If you want an idea of your chances of acceptance from the waitlist, you have to subtract all of the immediate acceptances (at least the class size, 135, but likely more due to over booking) from that 60%, as they are a part of it too.

My actual letter took about a month to make it through the mail after the initial email and phone call. This was back in December, so it may have been due to the holidays. I wouldn't panic just yet if you haven't received one.
 
Congrats to everyone else who got accepted! Looking forward to meeting you in August.

Speaking of which, does anyone know when orientation and matriculation are? I've got some friends from out of the country who will be in the states for the month of August and I'm trying to figure out when I'll be free.
 
On the accepted website they posted a tentative schedule for yrs 1&2, I believe orientation starts July 31
 
How formal of an event is Second Look? I plan on going with a suit and tie just like I did on interview day. Would that be too much?

I wore slacks w/ shirt and tie.......dont think there's any need to suit up but some people did
 
Any current students out there who are Air Force HPSP and had a conflict with COT and the start of UF orientation? Trying to figure out what my options are, so please shoot me a PM if you had to deal with the same situation!
 
Any females attending Second Look this weekend who have already booked a hotel willing to share a room and split the cost? I waited until the last minute to start looking, and there is NOTHING available. Please PM me if interested.

Didn't they postpone the date?
 
this is discussed in the facebook group, second look is still THIS weekend. its only changed for diversity students
 
Did anyone receive a scholarship offer with their financial aid packets?
 
I received only a $1000 scholarship for the year. The rest is all loans
 
Has anyone gotten their finaid in the mail yet? I left early on Saturday and didn't pick it up at second look
