Very sorry to hear that. 🙁 When was y'alls interviews? Also, did any of you get the "your app has been reviewed but a final decision has not been made" status at any point?

Interview in late September.... I got that status on 10/30!

I feel you. Unc is my dream school and I feel like its way tougher to get into...

wow.... can't believe so much movement has happened in the past week. this is discouraging to all of you guys that got the bad news, as well as those of us who are waiting for some news. sorry to all those. fingers crossed for the rest of us...

I have yet to hear back from UNC...so no, I don't feel better. Seems like they passed me over too.

I have an interview coming up very soon at UNC but not a peep from ECU yet. so what youcandoitpenguin said sounds reasonable..things would work themselves out, goodluck.

It's been so tough for me too. I'm hoping for the best though. I don't want to give up just yet

Don't get discouraged. It took me 3 times to get my MCAT up to a decent score for schools to even consider giving me an interview. Find a strategic way to study, SHADOW, Boost those ECs!!! Good luck 🙂

Good luck to you on your retake! I'm waiting on the scores from my retake in Oct. but it was a rough test for me so I'm probably going to start prepping for the 2015 exam for my third and final attempt at the test.

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I'm volunteering and shadowing now to try and boost my app. I'm waiting on the scores from my retake but I'm not confident I did any better. I'll take it a 3rd time if I need to! Hopefully I'll get there.

Perhaps a silly question, but...
Does sending an update letter post-interview seem synonymous to a Letter of Intent to adcoms? Is it one of those things you should refrain from doing if it isn't a letter along the lines of "I'll definitely come here if admitted"?

I think they said that you're welcome to send updates after your interview. I'm pretty sure they mention it on their website as well that updates about grades, awards, ect. are fine.

Any admission decisions as recent as today? It seems that decisions are not being released on the day of ad com meetings (1st and 15th) this year-anyone notice a pattern of when they are actually announced?

It seems that @CuriousGeorge93 had success after receiving that status so 'don't wait for the other shoe to drop.' Keep hope at whatever cost to your mental health!

^Yep! Like Dean Peden said, no decision is a good decision. From what I've seen thus far, if ECU knows they don't want to accept you, they won't leave you hanging in limbo like a lot of other schools do.
