3.8, 33. this time around we're looking at 3.8, 34. maybe that extra mcat point will pull me through. im not gonna hold my breath though. at least I already got one interview so far.

You have good GPA and MCAT scores. Can't believe they didn't accept you. If you don't mind me asking how about your EC ? Now am scared because you stats is better than minds.

they're tough to please. the ECs are decent. like, they're nothing REALLY REALLY special, no saving orphans or serving in the military or anything. they're the standard activities, but they're still solid. a summer in a hospital, several months of shadowing, some volunteering in a nursing home. division 1 athlete for 5 years. interview went well. I honestly thought I was gonna get accepted. i interviewed a little late, but i applied super super early, so i don't know what the problem was. I was put on the high alternate list but they had very little movement. the thing that has kind of pissed me off is that I have REPEATEDLY tried contacting admissions so that they might give me some feedback on what went wrong. I called all summer, left messages with secretaries, even left a voicemail. finally I just showed up since i dont live far from the school and i talked to dr. zeff in person, and he told me hed look at my application and e mail me with feedback, but never did and that was almost a month ago. hes a really really nice guy, probably the nicest director of admissions ive met, so I don't have the heart to say anything bad about him or the school. but im really put off by that. like it was obvious how important the feedback was to me if i would actually go out of my way and stop by the school. and i know how busy they are, but it would seriously only take 15-20 minutes. anyway, im just hoping for the best this cycle. i have some extra community service and shadowing plus that new mcat score which i worked my ASS off to get since the last one expired (which SUCKED big time). if i don't get in this time then i don't know what they're looking for. but good luck, i hope you get interviewed. it's a pretty sweet school.

Where did you go for undergrad

I don't want to name the specific place. it wasn't a TOP school but it was still solid.
Oh gotcha. Well your stats look pretty good and better than mine. Scares me because I'm in state as well. They're rough.

Yeah I would be upset too that's just crazy, considering your instate. My cGPA is a 3.56 and sGPA is a 3.69, i wont know my MACT score until next Tuesday. I did like 2 months of shadowing but i work as a microbiologist at a hospital and i went to Uconn for my undergraduate so am really hoping my work experience goes a long way. I hope you get in this cycle.

Hi User12,

Do you mind sharing the feedback that Dr Zeff had? Your stats seem really good, so now I'm a bit worried for my own application!!

Good luck this year!

that's the thing im so upset about- he never actually got back to me with the feedback, despite the numerous times I contacted him.

Oh wow! I guess they are super busy then! Well, we just have to keep our chins up and be optimistic about this year! Best of luck. And hey, you know what they say...third time's charm! 😀

lets hope so

This is probably a dumb question but would u get penalized if you went over the "1,800" character limit? Cause it doesn't cut you off when u type past 1,800...

I wouldn't personally take that risk. While it may be completely benign to some, it can irk someone else on admissions. The question, "What makes you think you don't have to follow the rules?" comes to mind.

Alright, so I was finished mid july and have heard nothing back. should i be worries?

no don't be worried. last year I submitted mine in july too and didn't hear from them until mid January. if you're in state and your numbers are good, you should get interviewed. that's what im telling myself anyway. they'll come around eventually. once we get into march, then start worrying

Come on Uconn, we wanna be huskies forever!!!!! Stop ignoring us... We love you!

Having heard nothing for a while, I went to check my status on the portal today. Two strange things, wondering if anyone has encountered them before (and if this is simply applicant-neurosis, or something that should be addressed):
1 - when the portal first loads, it says "You do not have the necessary permissions to view this page" but if you click the "medical admissions" tab everything is available.
2 - when I go to "check documents," I see under the requirements met that my supplemental application has a date next to it, however the supplemental app fee does not. I do have an email confirming receipt of payment.

So: anyone thing that observation #1 is anything more than a computer glitch, and, is it possible that they don't have a record of receiving my payment?

you could try calling them and asking. however, in my experience, they don't like answering phones over there

Still waiting since being complete since early August...LizzyM 71...I figured if I got an ii anywhere, it would be from my state school. I'm starting to get a bit nervous.

im not positive about this... but I think at least for most state schools, they are REQUIRED to interview a certain number of IS applicants that meet the cut offs for the school. id imagine for anyone in state with a LizzyM if 70 or greater, theyd definitely get an interview

I'm seeing this too. Did you call them about it?

Hey guys! Hope interviews and applications are going well for everyone! Any sub-30 interview invites/WLs/acceptances? If so, when were you complete and what were your stats? Thanks for the information and good luck to all applicants!

this thread doesn't have much activity.

im still waiting patiently for that interview.

@BMC11 congratulations on the acceptance. want to share your stats? if not, that's cool.
Hey, I'm OOS and my stats are fairly high. MCAT is around 35 and GPA>3.8

some killer stats. I hope you enjoyed your visit to my state. it's nothing special, I know.

Complete by the end of July and still haven't heard anything, Lizzy M 68-69. Have a couple other interviews so I am starting to not count on my state school anymore which is sad...

Hi everyone, My name is Jennifer, I'm a UConn grad 3x (2 BS degree's and an MS) my stat's aren't great, 26 MCAT, 3.6 grad GPA, 3.3 undergrad GPA, TA experience and lab/clinical research experience. I was complete in July, hopefully will hear back soon but not getting my hopes up. Would absolutely love to be at UConn next year, maybe I can do a post bacc or something if it doesn't pan out. Good luck to everyone out there!

Got an II, LizzyM>73, IS, complete in July, will be interviewing in November, think this is the start of the next wave so don't give up hope!

sweet. with a lizzym of at least 73, you definitely deserve it. its also reassuring that there are dates available in november

How many IS people are still waiting on ii? I have a LizzyM of 71 and was complete early/mid August and I thought I'd at least be able to snag an ii at my home school.

did you go to uconn for undergrad?
you all should have applied to west Virginia. me and my friend went to the same school and have similar stats and we both got iis. west Virginia loves people from the northeast apparently. as of right now, id be happy to take west Virginia over UConn. ill make it my new home state. one that actually likes me.

Alright guys. I was complete mid july and have heard nothing back yet. No II from any schools (though I do have 2 rejections and 1 waitlist). Is it normal to have silence for this long? I would call and ask but they'd just tell me that my app is complete and in review. But this long of a wait?....

same, I'm really really hoping on UConn, PLEASE!! I'm so tempted to call the office, but I'm not super sure how well that would be taken!
