Anybody have tips for the "describe how you relate to someone who is very different from you" prompt? I'm just not really sure where to start with this one because the question seems so broad.

Struggling with that one as well. I took it as wanting an example of how you have related with someone who is different from you. Not sure if that's the correct direction, but that's the way I wrote it.

I finally just decided to start writing with whatever came to mind. I was really just more confused about what the question was asking. I sort of just wrote about how I "in general" relate to people who are different from myself and then gave an example.

Submitted my secondary for EDP! Good luck everybody! ...and now the wait for an II. I assume they don't start sending those until the end of August.

UPDATE: File completed for secondary application. It took about 1 week to be processed from submission.

@gyngyn

I know they mentioned that OOS will not be interviewed 'till Jan, anyone know when they send the IIs for OOS?

Any non EDP interviews? what were the dates given? Any EDP that got a RD interview?

I'm a first year currently if anyone has any questions.
1) What is your favorite thing about KUmed? (& has this changed over time?)
2) What do you like the least about attending KUmed? (& has this changed over time?)
3) How do you feel about KC?
4) Is there something you would change about the curriculum?

EDIT: I just realized you said you were an M1, not that you had been there for 1 year so ignore the "over time" part 😵

No worries! my favorite thing about school is the fact that the faculty is really supportive and always there for you no matter what. I feel way more supported and my success cared for more than I ever did in undergrad.

My least favorite thing would have to be just the bumps in the curriculum since it is new. Like mistakes on our PBL's or us just kind of not knowing what's going on. Also way more things are mandatory attendance and I like to podcast. But other than that it's great.

I LOVE KC! There's so much to do and it's super diverse and the people are generally pretty friendly.

If I could change anything about the curriculum it would be making the "flipped classrooms" more interactive. The ones that are truly flipped classrooms are great, but the ones that are like a lecture AND are mandatory just frustrate me and most of the class. Other than that I like it so far!

Anyone else who interviewed EDP been replaying/critiquing your answers to questions nonstop since?? Lets hope these next 2 weeks fly by!!

YES!!! I can't stop thinking about things I should've said and things I shouldn't have said. Really trying to stay busy so the wait time feels less than what it is...

Yes, I keep wondering about the ethics question in my first interview and how they kept throwing curveballs at me about it! Overall think they went well and I hope we all see each other next year! 🙂

I still haven't received anything either way...am I the only one?

EDIT: Jk, the email was sent to the wrong address. Good luck to everyone else!!

Should be any day now for the October interview group....

Put on hold/deferred decision (letter said decisions would come mid march). Got the letter via snail mail last night. Friend of mine unfortunetly received a rejection in the mail yesterday. Both interviewed in the first week of October.

II today for the end of November! OOS with strong ties. Any interview advice here?
I just interviewed. It's pretty relaxed.
The interviews themselves aren't bad. First is open-book, one-on-one. Second is closed (really they just don't see your GPA or MCAT), and two people will interview you. Practice ethical questions and read up on some modern healthcare issues and topics. Be prepared with questions to ask them at the end.
