An adcom here, I believe gyngyn but I may be wrong, said that the 4/30 deadline is no longer enforced by AAMC, but is now merely a suggestion. Schools however can stipulate their own guidelines about 4/30. If schools are clear on this I don’t see why they couldn’t offer an acceptance now.

Nooooo. I’m not sure how I could have worded that more clearly, but my bad. I’m referring to what an adcom has stated on this site (an adcom here) and then I went on to say that I believe the person I’m referring to is gyngyn (but I could be wrong).
probably because I had no idea who gyngyn was and I thought you meant you believed they were wrong. no worries

I'm not really expecting anything until this Friday or the next couple of weeks/months but I am keeping my eye out on the school specific threads for updates.

I think we are more likely to see movements tomorrow rather than today but that still doesn't help me not constantly refresh every tab open on my computer.
I hate this waiting game. T_T

AAMC is just giving their recommendations and then throwing their hands up as to say that the responsibility relies on each respective program to outline their specific policies. The problem is that not every program is giving specific guidance with specific dates on what they expect their applicants to do with the “choose your medical school tool.” This is based on what I’ve seen on the forum.

Yup, totally agree. I’m sure things will be clearer in future cycles. The schools are figuring it out

Somehow my phone's connection to my email got corrupted and for about 5 months I've not been able to fix it. I *could* go in to the Apple Store, but I've been putting it off bc it has truly become a blessing. Otherwise I'd be compulsively refreshing hahaha

I am waiting for the email to confirm my interest in my waitlist school. Then I will join the constant-portal-refresh club until I get that A or until too much time has passed and I commit to another school. Just keeping myself busy in this forum otherwise!

I just got an acceptance call! I'm amazed and overwhelmed and honestly a little in disbelief until I get my acceptance email (hopefully today otherwise I might go mad). This is my second time applying and I wasn't expecting my favorite program to even give me an interview let alone this great news. Thank you guys so much for all of your positivity this cycle. I wish you guys the best!

Definitely don’t need to be concerned. It was clear. They just misunderstood. No big deal.
