Wow I’m sorry to hear that :/ thank you for the insight though!
It's alight. Although they still haven't even sent me a "No" notice that I'm off the wait list even though it's past their "Acceptance Date-Latest Notice Sent" date and it's August 13th now....

-.-

Same thing happened for me this year. Last year I was told the waitlist closed on July 19th, and this year I never got an official "No" until their 3rd day of orientation which was last week, hold out hope you never know--No news is good news

Hello friends. I just got the rejection from my waitlist school (only took 4 months LOL) and it reminded me of this thread. At the risk of engaging in SDN necromancy--a lot of people on here really helped me feel better last cycle with the constant neuroticism and memes, and so I'm curious as to how y'all are doing now that we're nearing the end of 2019. If you reapplied immediately, have you been met with success? Are you waiting until the next application cycle (now only like 6 short months away yikes), and if so, are you feeling confident about your chances or not? Have you opted to defer for longer than that, or even decided to pursue a different career?

Hello! I was on a high priority waitlist at one school until this past July and I reapplied this September (was waiting for a scribing position to work out). So far I have heard nothing from that school  I also have not heard back from another school I interviewed but R-ed at in 2019 cycle. I'm waiting in no II zone hoping to get out :xf: I don't feel any more confident than last year...but I really hope this year is it because this is my 3rd time and I'm in my 30s :joyful:

Applied to only MDs. 1 post II and 1waitlisted. This cycle Got 5 II DO, 1II MD. 2A DO. Declined 2 II DO. Confidence wise feels greaT and the stress just isn’t there knowing that I’ll be practicing.

Ayy we're in the same boat. Maybe we're DO bound?

Last cycle, I applied to 26 schools and received 2 II (1 top 20, 1 mid tier). I was waitlisted at both schools and ultimately rejected in July. This cycle I applied MD again, but upped the number to 36 schools. So far, I have 3 IIs (one of which is from one of the schools that waitlisted me last cycle). I've attended one interview and am hoping to hear good news from them soon. My most recent invite is from a top 10 school, so that's made me question this whole process as I didn't really change much from last year.

two waitlists so far, waiting to hear back from 6 schools still. I know its early, but damn I'm ready to have some certainty about this process. I don't know how you all did it.

Applied to 9 MD and 3 DO last cycle. Was on 2MD WL and 2 DO WL ended up not getting off any of them. Added a bunch of clinical experience (volunteer and paid) and got a paper published. This cycle applied to 21 MD and 6DO, 2 IIs so far from the same 2 DO schools as last cycle. Really thought applying to more schools would get me more IIs, so not feeling too confident rn.

Reapplied and luckily got an A, 2 WLs, and waiting to hear back from a school that releases all decisions in January (ugh I hate waiting)! Tbh, my biggest change this year was saying "f it" and writing all of my essays as myself, not the premed I thought I should be. I think that made the biggest difference (w/ volunteering and experience of course) and made me appreciate fit at schools even more: don't give up, you and the school you belong at just haven't found each other yet, but you will :)
