Ayyyyeeee, today really is the day! Just received an acceptance from the waitlist. Will take it over my current acceptance and will keep my last wait list. I kept telling myself not to expect anything today as WL movement will go on until the first day of classes and I kept telling myself that I could be at the bottom of the list so I REALLY should not expect to hear soon. . . so this was a great surprise.

Congratulations!!! 🙂 Glad to hear of your acceptance! When did you get Interviewed? I’m still currently waiting anxiously for a call. Hopefully they accept me.

There has been no movement on either the schools waitlists that I'm on 🙁 I know its still early but this is killing me!

Ughh none of mine have any movement either I’ve had to charge my phone like eight time today because I keep checking my email and sdn

That was true for my two WLs until this morning. Waiting SUCKKKSSSSS. Please keep your head up and try to distract yourself. You’ll get an answer soon.

Just a gentle reminder that for those of you who've already officially committed to a school, please withdraw from your WLs rather than just waiting to see if you get in -- Let someone else who wants that spot get it sooner! We all know how terrible the wait is, especially the closer it gets to school actually starting.

Yeah, they have to wait to hear back from those students too. Some schools are giving students 3 days to decide, others 5 days. Ultimately, any of the people who were previously on the waitlist could say no and others who have been accepted could get off a waitlist somewhere else and decide to go to that new school. Don't give up hope! Do prepare for another cycle if you (like me) haven't gotten an acceptance yet.

I am also in a position where I may need to reapply. I am on 2 waitlists with no acceptances I am dreading reapplying as well, especially dreading asking my LOR writers to resubmit and draining my still-empty bank account from this cycle. I'm just tired of being so broke all the time. I wish I could stop spending all my hard-earned money on this. I dont' have enough money to apply to very many schools next cycle, so I'll need to apply in batches (corresponding to paychecks). This is why I keep telling myself I will get off one of the waitlists, but I can't be certain. My hopes are high since both the schools I'm waitlisted at pull about 20-30 people off, but I really need to start thinking more realistically as well.

Same position many of us are in. The struggle is real. I'm still grinding to pay off last cycle. The lack of certainty also makes it hard to be productive and commit to work or volunteering opportunities or any of the number of things this process requires. I'd be taking out loans too to reapply. But we're here together and we can work together to crack this thing if we have to go through it again.

Ha. I mean to be fair most patients don’t know that there are multiple names for medications and they just want to make sure it’s right.

Additionally, levothyroxine and synthroid are not equal. There is pretty good evidence that the generic levothyroxine is not as efficacious as synthroid.

I too reopened and filled out the 2020 app. Gonna suck have to rewrite the personal statement as that appears to be what held me back from going from WL/R to A.

Same dude. Really tired of continually giving money and then not seeing any return. Also annoyed how much of my personal life suffers from this process.
 
Hi all! Sat on 4 waitlists and waiting to get a decision from a school I interviewed at in March, and I have no acceptances and no idea what I should do the next couple months until I know for sure I have to reapply lol. All aboard the struggle bus

Technically yes, but even if I type synthroid, Epic will pull the generic instead and alphabetize it by that. It will show both names but levothyroxine is listed first because that’s what a majority of patients take. And when reconciling meds it’s not a huge deal which is listed.
 
Celebrate good times come one! Congrats to everyone who has gotten off a WL today.

So like... I not only got off a WL... they offered me a hefty scholarship as well. I--- I just... My brain is still trying to compute how that happened but I guess anything is possible! Woo hoo

Just goes to show, just cuz you get off a WL doesn't mean you weren't an amazing candidate! Sometimes there really just isn't enough space to take all the best applicants 🙂

It also goes to show that submitting early truly TRULY is an advantage. In my acceptance letter, the Dean literally said the reason I wasn't accepted right away was because I interviewed late... which is because I didn't submit at the crack of June.

Lol very much so. After doing some primary care, I realized how much knowledge even the “lowly” primary care doc has to have. I like primary care but I’m almost a little scared to do it because you have to know so much about so many things. It might be nice to be a consultant.

I’m with you. Primary care is so crazy. I remember You have to know so much. It’s impressive how much they know. Although one could reasonably argue that oncology is worse. Especially if you are a general medical oncologist. I learn new things every single day in that field [emoji33] both specialties are the same in thay respect

Yeah especially since often the oncologist becomes the primary while the patient is on treatment. One of my mentors is a radiologist and he said he became a consultant specialist because he was intimidated by how much knowledge being a generalist requires lol.
