One of my schools just sent an email saying that they don't anticipate sending out any more waitlist acceptances, and if they did they would be sporadic throughout the summer. Just such a disappointment.
Which school?

Congrats [emoji106]Accepted off of 2 waitlists today and just wanted to thank this thread for the reassurance. I’ll be sure to make a speedy choice and withdrawal.
May I ask which 2 schools offered acceptances ?

Kinda creepy lol
So are bivalve remains, but we can all be friends hereKinda creepy lol
Sorry if this was already addressed, but how exactly do the traffic rules differ this year from last year's? Did they not have PTE or CTE deadlines last year?
Go back about 5 pages & read the explanations 🙂Sorry if this was already addressed, but how exactly do the traffic rules differ this year from last year's? Did they not have PTE or CTE deadlines last year?
Is there a list anywhere of the T20 CTE dates?

2018-2019 "Commit to Enroll" Deadlines
This thread was suggested so that applicants can view this information in one place so let's see if we can compile a list. Please feel free to make additions and corrections where necessary. Selecting "Commit to Enroll" at a school means that you're agreeing to communicate to your other...

At this point, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if June came and there still was no significant movement.
I am thinking the same. If no movement at all occurs and all PTEs become CTEs because they were not accepted elsewhere, then this cycle is really just over because of an endless stalemate

Thank you! Wayne State and TCU & UNTHSC

I think this is correct. Not sure how the AAMC didn't see this coming
I was just told by the 1 DO school I am on the wait list for that they expect movement in June. Some movement has occurred, so there's that.
I am also on a DO waitlist. What school was it?
I see you haven't met them. Not sure how the AAMC didn't see this coming

According to the “help me decide” threads, movement is still comingI think this is correct. Not sure how the AAMC didn't see this coming

No, that’s only true if each and every applicant is only holding one acceptance right now which is not realistic.

VCOM-CarolinasI am also on a DO waitlist. What school was it?

Oh nice! I'm waitlisted at VCOM - Virginia. Best of luck!!
Nice. I know from friends on the wait list there they have been moving. Good luck!Oh nice! I'm waitlisted at VCOM - Virginia. Best of luck!!
Seeing the threads start up asking questions about THIS cycle is the most stressful thing! People are moving on. Take me with you!

I am probably putting too much faith in the good of humanity but I assume most people are not doing this. Could be very wrong though...

I currently know someone who is holding THREE haha. And is PTE'd at one school, but has not withdrawn the acceptances at the others. No consequences yet, and has received word from all schools that this situation is okay until the end of June.
Schools are contacting their students and asking them to PTE/drop multiple acceptances. I feel that this cohort is a lot smaller than we are imagining it.I am probably putting too much faith in the good of humanity but I assume most people are not doing this. Could be very wrong though...
The problem is that for now, it seems the general trend for schools is that half of their accepted students are CTE, and half PTE. They don’t know what the PTE students will do.

It is! Especially when you see movement in your specific school threads but you haven't heard anything yet. It's depressing
Like, did they accidentally skip over my name on the WL? 😛 This process is such a downer

The problem is the schools dont know who has multiple acceptances.

In previous years, schools did not have PTE. In effect now they can read the mind of the student and see they are waiting on a potential waitlist opening. Most of those students are not getting off those waitlists so schools are going to have to treat a PTE as a probable CTESchools are contacting their students and asking them to PTE/drop multiple acceptances. I agree. There’s no incentive to be the first school to take people off the WL and it comes with a massive risk.
Almost every school is full of PTE.
We need a few brave schools to risk over enrollment
Has anyone here CTE'd to one school and then been accepted by another school afterwards?

That should never happen, you should have emailed the schools and withdrawn from them as soon as you selected CTE.Has anyone here CTE'd to one school and then been accepted by another school afterwards?

Someone mentioned CTEing to school A after getting in and then getting a full ride scholarship offer from school B. I think they still chose school A though
Someone on another thread had withdrawn and CTE'd to a school. They then had Seton hall call with a full scholarship even though they had withdrawn. That should never happen, you should have emailed the schools and withdrawn from them as soon as you selected CTE.
I haven't CTE'd anywhere yet. I have PTE'd at my second choice school and withdrawn all other acceptances. Unfortunately, I am waitlisted at my dream school and my dream school's CTE and my second choice school's CTE are the same day. My dream school advised me to not withdraw my application if I don't hear back by this deadline so that I can still be accepted by them. That should never happen, you should have emailed the schools and withdrawn from them as soon as you selected CTE.

Some schools are following guidelines, while others are making up their ownSo poaching is still a thing?
so does amcas allow these acceptances to process then if the school chooses not to follow the guidelines?

@gyngyn
Why do you believe that movement will happen in June? I get that some schools are concerned about PTE applicants, but none of these students will leave if everyone remains in a stalemate.
As far as I know, there doesn't exist a large gap where some schools are not at least full of PTE applicants.
Does it have to start with a few neurotic admissions officers who jump the gun?
My theory was based on the belief that cautious admissions officers would over-interview and under-accept.@gyngyn

If, in fact this did not happen, the stalemate will continue until mid July.
AMCAS has completely abandoned its oversight authority.so does amcas allow these acceptances to process then if the school chooses not to follow the guidelines?
oh...so should I just do what the school tells me to do and ignore amcas?AMCAS has completely abandoned its oversight authority.
The traffic rules that have governed our behavior for decades have been eliminated. So poaching is still a thing?
Poaching was always acceptable behavior (up until a student matriculated at another school).
Yes.oh...so should I just do what the school tells me to do and ignore amcas?
that sounds sketchy but i guess i'll do itYes.
