Did anyone who applied for SPFD get any kind of confirmation of the application?
 
For those of you who were waitlisted, did you get a confirmation email when you responded to the waitlist offer?

BSOM Student Affairs Office posted an article with the caption “We look forward to welcoming the Brody School of Medicine Class of 2024”. Does this mean that the class is complete and people won’t be coming off the waitlist anymore? I imagine that people would come off the waitlist at or after April 30, so perhaps I’m thinking too much into this.

I would assume that the waitlist is still active until we get an email saying otherwise

I called yesterday just to see about advising appointments in case I don’t make it off WL. I was told that the bulk of their movement will be happening in the next 2-3 weeks which leads me to believe we still have plenty of time to wait it out!

Good to know. Were they receptive to allowing you to set an advising appointment?

Unfortunately, if we’re still actively on the waitlist we can’t. She said that being on WL means we’re strong applicants and pretty much they just ran out of seats, so as far as reapp just to go with what we think we can improve on until later on. Honestly, she was very nice and clear in her communication so I really appreciated it!

I sent one 4 days after my interview! Something worked for me....because I was super fortunate and was accepted in December. I'm not sure how much of a difference the letter made. Either way, I don't think there is any harm in submitting one! Good luck!
 
For those on the waitlist, do you think we might hear something this week? It's been about 7 months since I've interviewed and I wish I could describe how I am feeling right now but any word is an understatement. I'm sure many people can relate and it's just nice to hear you are not alone.
 
Has anyone heard anything about scholarships from Brody (besides the Brody scholars)? I know last week they were still being evaluated.

Financial aid packages were apparently released last week? Scholarships are still being decided according to that email. The email got sent to my junk folder so I would check there if you haven't received it!

Yeah I got that email! Was just wondering if scholarships had been sent out too since April 30th is tomorrow. I hadn't heard anything and I assume if you don't get any scholarships, you're probably not going to be informed. Thank you though!
 
Is there generally less or more waitlist movement after April 30 at Brody? I know someone said April 15-April 30 was the most movement.

I think there will be some more movement. I'm sure some people will get accepted to other schools and decline their acceptance. I didn't think I had much of a chance at Brody anymore and I was surprised this morning with the call, so don't give up hope. You never know whats gonna happen.

I havent gotten my email yet either. Dean Bright said it should come today. So if I dont have it by tomorrow morning, I'll probably email them.

I think it took about 2 days for the acceptance letter to show up in my email after I got the phone call, and it showed up in my regular email.

anyone who was accepted off the waitlist in april heard anything back about financial aid/award offers?

I notice a discrepancy in orientation dates. On the ECU website, it says orientation starts July 23. Onmy ECU portal, it says July 27. Anyone know the correct date?

I think it’s the 27th as it generally lasts the work week leading to the white coat ceremony. What portal do you mean, by the way? I don’t see any schedule like that on pirate port.
 
Thought I would share this info...
Just spoke with someone from Brody. They said that there should be movement up until the end of next week and that there rough 10 spots left as of right now. Things are subject to change depending on how other med schools open up their class. Hope this helps

Thank you so much for sharing this information. Some of us have been waiting for months so any sort of update just gives us some sort of mental peace haha. Fingers crossed 🙂
