Yeah. Same thing happened with the two Derm matches.Good point. Thanks for pointing that out. I was really impressed by the Johns Hopkins match and feel like they did him a great disservice by listing it as St. Joe's.
For the AOA match alone. 17 people went unmatched this year at KCU.?
Unless you asked every single person on Facebook how they ended up there is no way you have this information.
And....😕
Guys wait like 2 weeks. The schools will put out the results. I’m sure they still have some students who didn’t get a spot in the soap And are waiting for the students to see if they can get anything. Nobody wants to put out a mass list that says less than 95% placement
Just to clarify for those following, the match list usually doesn't have the percentage placed. If their like my school they won't release placement data till next fall. What we should see in a couple weeks is the schools claiming 100 or 99% placed. Those kind of articles usually come out end of march.
I wanna say at least 3 people at MSUCOM matched ortho . But we had like30 going for it . So we’ll see .

Jesus was the very first bone healer
And surprisingly there is more scientific basis for His miracles than for OMM.Jesus was the very first bone healer
IR is the new FM confirm!!More DO IR matches than I’ve ever seen this year 0_o
Also congrats to everyone that matched!
Your right, I missed that because it was not under the O’s! Gives hope for competitive specialties at prestigious programs! That Ophtho match at OHSU is a banger
Just on the basis of the number of uber-specialties matched into, this is far more impressive than a certain for-profit US MD school. I'll leave it to the experts as to what is a "good" residency.Campbell put out match specialties and statistics but no official list yet. 100% placement for all 153 graduates.

Which is why I always said that Campbell was one of the better DO schools out there that will guarantee you a placement at graduation. They're so consistent, they've been having 100% placement rate every year from the very first class they graduated. Mandatory attendance or not, and dress code or not, that was one school, besides KCU, I was hoping I got into last year, but unfortunately they both eventually rejected me post interviewJust on the basis of the number of uber-specialties matched into, this is far more impressive than a certain for-profit US MD school. I'll leave it to the experts as to what is a "good" residency.
The Gestalt I am getting is that more DO Students are matching into Uber residenciesoh, or rather, more competitive specialties
I think it’s safe to say that this year the quality of matches really stands out (at least compared to past few years). Seeing a larger volume of competitive specialties than usual. Not necessarily top programs but DOs are still pretty regularly able to get out of the PC bubble regardless if the school is new or old. The only thing that would secure any reissurance is final placement data. If it’s significantly low we need to worry but if it’s in the 97%+ range that’s probably much better than what anybody anticipated.
Shopping with my son right now and trying hard not to laugh out loud! That's all blatantly false. Do you guys have any idea how much time some SDN users have spent telling everyone it's 100% doom and gloom from now on and ever for DOs? Clearly they're the ones to listen to. /s

They'll still have FM in bfe unless they truly mess up bad. And in that case that's more on them than the system. Most places would rather a DO than an IMGGood students will always match. The worry is those who aren’t as strong. Before they had AOA fm in bfe... now some of that safety net may not be there.... side note a class mate matched Neuro surg ayyyyeee
Can only speak for KCU but the ones that didn’t match were the strong applicant but were applying to very competitive specialties. Ortho, gen surg, derm, Ob gyn (specialties applied for that didn’t match at KCU). They weren’t bottom students. It’s more complicated than that. I think it’s about strategy. I know a KCU grad who barely passed comlex and matched at a respectable academic FM program and got nearly 20 interviews. If you’re a weak DO student you can still match if you focus on weak programs. It’s when people start applying where they had no business based on their stats or to hypercompetive specialties where people get in trouble.Good students will always match. Barrow is a very prestigious neuroSURGERY program. For neurology, I would say it's mid-tier at best.I think this got lost in the mix but the Barrow neuro Match seems pretty awesome. Maybe @Ibn Alnafis MD can confirm?
Barrow is a very prestigious neuroSURGERY program. For neurology, I would say it's mid-tier at best.
The neuro match at University of Washington is much, much more impressive.
Still, it's a big accomplishment for a DO to match neuro at Barrow.
I have never seen ob/gyn listed amongst these 'competitive' specialities. Are you basing this on # of positions?very competitive specialties. Ortho, gen surg, derm, Ob gyn
Well, I had multiple MCATs, and English is my second language. Those may or may not have factored in, but I was waitlisted at KCU before getting rejected at the very end of the cycle though. CUSOM straight up rejected me lol.You must interview like **** haha
You must interview like **** haha
Charting outcomes. DOs match rate of 61.3 for OB Gyn. Almost as low as surgery. It’s considered middle of the road in general competitiveness but is not very DO friendly.I have never seen ob/gyn listed amongst these 'competitive' specialities. Are you basing this on # of positions?
It’s not a competitive specialty to MDs but for DOs it’s getting there. Kinda like GS is considered competitive for DOs but not MDsI have never seen ob/gyn listed amongst these 'competitive' specialities. Are you basing this on # of positions?
Yeah but even relatively speaking it has one of the lower match rates for MDs at 87%. That’s the same for Neurosurg and close to plastics. It’s not a competitive specialty to MDs but for DOs it’s getting there. Kinda like GS is considered competitive for DOs but not MDs
Wait, neurosurg and plastics have ~87% match if you are USMD? Wow that is impressive lolYeah but even relatively speaking it has one of the lower match rates for MDs at 87%. That’s the same for Neurosurg and close to plastics.
