Not sure . Although 60 percent have no prior military from what I read . This is one of the few MD schools I am applying. My great grandfather both grandfathers were military physicians and my father were former DO physician in army and multiple family members work as civilians for the military so I hope that helps. I think they are looking for service oriented people With leadership since you will be an officer leading teams

my stats I hope are ok for them

gpa 3.71 with upward trend
MCAT 516
College athlete, 4 years of consistent volunteer service. Is lack of any military experience or family in military a serious disadvantage in obtaining admission to USU?

No. 60% of the class has no prior experience and of the 40% who do, only half of us actually have fleet experience. The other half are academy graduates, which honestly doesn’t super count since that kind of atmosphere isn’t really what the military is like most of the time. It does show that they are committed to the military though. So really only about 20% of us have actual fleet experience.

I’d say you have a good shot at getting an interview if your essays are good.
