Thank you for this information! Just gotta hang on for a few more weeks, the waiting game is the worstTalked to PNWU admissions they said rankings will go out by May 24th
I am a current student and know many people in my class who had done the MAMS program. I am happy to try and answer questionsIs there anyone on here looking at doing the MAMS program? Or know someone that has gone through it and been accepted into DO program?
I don’t think it’s that insane. I know someone who interviewed last summer around June (for the 23-24 application cycle) and was accepted to PNWU for an early start that summer. I think there’s a lot of movement as other schools accept of their waitlists and they just want to ensure they get a full class. They are still interviewing. That's insane because the admin said the class is full, and about 100 people are on the waitlist.
I also just got the top 10 notification!just got top 10 notification.
I'm not sure when the hard deadline is of when you have to have taken Level 1, although I do know you have to get your "pass" results back before starting rotations at the beginning of July, thus I am assuming you need to take before the end of May. I have friends that are taking Level 1 at the end of this week which would be four weeks of dedicated study. It would be five weeks if you count the last week of school when you take your OSCE, which is just one day.I’m debating if i should withdraw. Their second year curriculum only allows for 3 weeks of dedicated study for step 1. Other schools allow 4-9 weeks of dedicated.
What is your opinion on this matter?
I’m wondering the same. I feel so in the dark about all of this. I wish their communication and transparency was a little better.Based on the posts, top 10-20 are out. I wonder if they will specify our place if not in the “top” ??
When I received the waitlist email back in December this is what it said: "In early May, applicants remaining on the wait list will be reviewed and the top 30 will be ranked and notified by email."Has anyone gotten a word about top 30, 40, 50, etc.?
any info in the email? I haven’t received anything…Got the email ranking email. I believe they are only ranking top 10, 20, 30.
Hope this helps. They seem to be done notifying people for now.
Email says" PNWU-COM has started ranking the waitlist and I have happy to notify you you are in the top blank on the ranked list. We are unable to provide you with your exact rank on the list but will notify you if your position changes. If a seat becomes available for Fall 2024 we will call you with an offer for admission. Offers made on or after May 15 will be asked for immediate decision."Anyone below a 500 mcat? I’m wondering if my 497 is holding me back
What do your update letters entail? I sent a letter of intent after my interview but it didn’t feel like they relayed it for meEmail says" PNWU-COM has started ranking the waitlist and I have happy to notify you you are in the top blank on the ranked list. Then it goes into some logistical information for if you get in and outstanding requirements, etc.
I do have an MCAT score below 500, but I've been taking classes, started working in primary care, and have been sending update letters to the school. I've also been in WA for over 20 years, grew up here, majority of my volunteer and shadowing has been underserved areas so very in line with their mission statement
same, I'm from WA state. went to undergrad here and was born here. there's regional bias so they may be going off of that too.Email says" PNWU-COM has started ranking the waitlist and I have happy to notify you you are in the top blank on the ranked list. My updates were fairly brief. I let them know I would be taking microbiology and human anatomy and physiology 2 and they said I should send the transcript to them when the classes were complete so they could add it to my file. I also had the current doctor I work with in primary care write a letter of recommendation for me and sent it to the admissions team. Additionally, I sent a letter of intent after I went to the Second Look event in Yakima and spoke directly about my experiences at the event and how it would be a good fit for me. I think those all made a differenceWhat do your update letters entail? I sent a letter of intent after my interview but it didn’t feel like they relayed it for me
I received the ranking email last Friday (05/24) and was told I’m in the top 40. Which is interesting since it seems in past years they only rank in rounds of 30. Does anyone have insight on this?If you were pulled of the WL and you were ranked in the top 10/20/30, can you please reply to this post & mention your rank.
Thank you
Just learned that you can take Level 1 the first week of June. So, end of May isn't the hard deadline.I’m debating if i should withdraw. Their second year curriculum only allows for 3 weeks of dedicated study for step 1. Other schools allow 4-9 weeks of dedicated.
What is your opinion on this matter?
What about unranked?Nah if your ranked probs not. I think it just comes down to mcat/grades (numbers) on the ranked WL.
based on previous threads, it happens in early May. it seems to be moving later this year. hopefully we hear some good news soon.Does anyone know when WL movement typically starts at this school?
I called admissions yesterday and spoke with Tricia. She said there has been no one accepted from the rank list since it came out but to not to lose hope as they often to extend late offers of admission.Any WL movement for people in the top 10/20/30/40?
I'm really sad about this because this is still my top school, but if I don't hear within 1-2 weeks, I have to start moving to the school I did get an A at..School starts in a little over a month… this is getting ridiculous…. Literally zero movement.
OMG CONGRATULATIONS!!!I JUST GOT THE CALL!!!! Waitlist movement has officially begun!
stoked for you, congrats!!!I JUST GOT THE CALL WITH THE ACCEPTANCE!!!
Thank you! Yes I was in the top 10 😊Congrats! Were you also top 10?
Thank you for the info, again CONGRATSThey gave me a day and a half. I got the call yesterday and the deposit and acceptance documents are due tonight (I submitted them yesterday). The deposit is $1000
Where else did you get an A?I'm really sad about this because this is still my top school, but if I don't hear within 1-2 weeks, I have to start moving to the school I did get an A at..
RVU MontanaWhere else did you get an A?
PM'd you!RVU has much board scores. May I ask what swayed you to PNWU?
I received an email today that looked nearly identical to my original ranking email that said I was now in the top 30 as opposed to top 40. This makes me think there might be some more movement here in the next week or so...maybe? Hopefully? Hard to say I suppose.Any movement?
No, I’d gotten an A back in OctoberWere you in the “original” top 10 or 20?
I was top 20 originally and got an email the other day that I am now top 10Has anyone from the original top 20 or 30 heard back from PNWU yet?
