Any idea when Baylor sends out secondaries? Is it traditionally later than other TMDSAS schools seeing as they have historically been a school applied to through AMCAS?

Remember to schedule your Casper exam.

Trying to pay the supplemental fee, it says unable to proceed with payment because of technical difficulties. The credit is not the issue, and I have used multiple but it won't work. Should I just try again tomorrow?

Yeah, this is the first day they announced their secondary so they may have some glitches on their portal.
If it's still not letting your payment go through tomorrow, send a short email to the admissions address letting them know the portal doesn't seem to be working.

having the same issue here, seems to be on their end.

How do I access the secondary portal for Baylor? Also their website currently states "Attention: Due to delays, the supplemental application will now open on or before June 15."

Well , now that you know what this year’s essay questions are for Baylor, work on those and save them until later in June when the portal is ready

I am trying to figure out which essay would fit better here:

1) Essay regarding starting a nonprofit organization, why I did it, what impact it had on myself and the community
2) Essay about facing adversity through injury, losing my ability to compete in my sport, and how my mindset shifted following this incident

Any thoughts??

Don’t repeat an essay you have already written in one of your 3 TMDSAS essays or in the Most Meaningful blurbs.
It should be something interesting, unique, and positive about you.
Either of these would fit if they’re not already featured in your primary app,

Did you see the post a few above this saying the portal won’t be ready until June 15?
yes. Does that mean they won't be sending out more secondaries until then, or that the portal won't work until then? I am currently on it and it seems to be working fine, but I haven't submitted my payment yet. I saw someone on here last night post that they had the same issue. Maybe it won't work until the 15th?

ok so at least the delay in submission won't be looked down upon. Also, for the special experiences, I am not sure if what I have wrote is ok. I wrote about a few of my experiences/roles, which I kind of already talked about in the experiences section.

edit: I am now thinking of writing about some hardships I faced in college, including family deaths. but how I continued to succeed in school and extracurricular and how my mindset shifted etc. I think this would be better than the former answer because it is new, and shows prevailing through adversity.

Would be interesting to read how the injury helped give you more perspective on life and you started doing something more interesting like service or research with the additional free time.

Oooo yes I do like that

Does Baylor pre-screen for their secondaries now? I submitted my application on the first day and I still haven't heard anything from them. Getting a little worried at this point as other people have received theirs.

I think very few people have received them. May just be coming out in batches.

I called Baylor and they said everything is paused on their secondary portal, and it is a site wide issue. They do not have an update on when we will be able to place the payment for our secondaries.

So for the first question, are they asking about the knowledge skills and attributes for our career path in the two boxes we selected above? Or for being a physician in general.

Any updates on when Baylor can be submitted? I just tried and got the same error. I know they said that they were planning to have it straightened out by today.

Still have not heard anything about submitting the secondary. hopefuly something soon.
Baylor is very good at informing applicants, so if they say they will let you know when the technical issue is fixed, they will.
(I can't say this for all the TX schools).
Guys, I know you're nervous and you want everything to be just perfect, but save "calling" the admissions office for things that are really urgent or time-sensitive. This is NOT one of those times. Early in the application cycle they will be working 8 to 5 weekdays.

For those wondering, Baylor is now good to submit! They seem to have figured out the issues they were having with their payment service.

Baylor is all set for submission. Took them long enough!

Weird! I'm sure they're just saving the best for last, I wouldn't worry about it.
You're too kind 🤣, who needs Baylor amirite? (Me, that's who). Jokes aside, I'm not stressed (surprising for me!); I'll try again tomorrow, but my bet is they're just fixing residual issues. Patience is a virtue and all that!

Does the "What knowledge, skills and attitudes have you developed that have prepared you for this career path?" question need to be related to what I clicked on the checkmarks above it? I wrote it as a general "how am I fit for medicine" but not specifically for why I am fit for "academic medicine" (which is one of my check marks).

It’s a shorter essay, 1000 characters to cover 1 ( or both if you chose 2 things).
It should be directed at the areas of interest you selected, NOT “why medicine.”
Don’t quote your primary essays or activity descriptions exactly.

Sorry if this has been answered before-- but is my secondary not going to be reviewed until the CASPER scores are in? I just took it last week so I think it may take another week for it to be transmitted to schools.

They won't review your application until it is complete, i.e. all scores in so yeah it'll probably be about a week. But that shouldn't delay much at all

Are y'alls casper scores marked as received in the Baylor portal? Ik they had delays with payment so Im guessing they're behind on getting the scores matched to the applicants

Lots of schools have been relatively slow with verifying CASPer. Don't fret, they'll get it done when they can.

I submitted the secondary yesterday with payment and it was fully approved today.

Should I email them? Still haven’t received anything and I was complete 3 mins after it opened

I am in the same boat as you @cmoney777 . I still have not received my secondary from Baylor 🙁 I am really excited about this school too. I called them last week, and they said they send secondary invites out in batches and were having issues sending out the most recent batch. As @wysdoc said, we just have to wait for the time being.

Is there a point when I should reach out to them? I submitted first day as well and have yet to hear anything, but I know people who submitted days after me and already received their secondary.
