For those still in limbo I just got off the phone w/ admissions. They said that if you have not heard back yet to not expect anything today, but if you are an alternate they will be sending out the status and additional info “within the coming weeks.”

That all depends on how many accepted students like Emory best. Most of the WL offers would be months in the future since folks don't have to drop their multiple acceptances until the end of April

If any current student reads this thread. I realized that If i commit to emory I would need to get insurance in Georgia. I have out-of-state Medicaid, which does not meet the insurance requirements. I can’t afford to pay an extra $4,000 on top of medical school expenses. I also have a medical condition, so having access to healthcare is absolutely crucial for me. If anyone has been in this situation before, please share your experience. Thanks! 🙁

They include the medical school health insurance plan in the total COA calculation so you I think the expectation is that you would take out loans for what is not already covered by fin aid.

I spoke with admissions last week and the implication was that it will be an either/or that we will hear about in the coming weeks. I’m not sure if they will send outright rejections though or if it will be more of a soft R situation.

i believe if you got interviewed but not accepted, you will be offered a spot on the alternate list. someone correct me if im wrong though

I called the admissions office on Thursday to ask. They said they’re running a bit behind and that they hope to have it out by this coming week, although they didn’t seem certain. They assured me that it’ll definitely be out before the 30th

I wonder when waitlist movement will begin. I think the FAQ they sent out with the WL email said June, but you would think that they could start sending out As now since people had to narrow down their choices this week

24 hour response time. and yes it seems early, i was not expecting there to be waitlist movement until june based off of the FAQ document they sent out in march. not sure when they accepted people off the WL in past years
