Happy New Year SDN!

Two quick notes:
  1. A new batch of interview invites will go out tomorrow; 30 or so applicants will be invited.
  2. To the mod/mods of the new FSU Class of 2029 GroupMe or Facebook group: please add/approve our Hospitality Chairs, David Hartsfield and Lisa Turk, to both groups. They will help disseminate important information!
As always, happy to answer the questions I am able to!

Does uploading an app update have a huge weight our application? I am very interested in FSU COM and I submitted an update a couple of months ago

As bummed as I am to have refreshed my email all day and seen only a receipt for my Taco Bell order, I do want to take a second to appreciate FSU COM for being so dedicated to updating and supporting their prospective students. So many of these SDN threads are full of speculation and self reports, it's very considerate of them to dedicate energy and resources to answer our questions.

Uploading an update does not carry any "weight", but it does help the admissions committee see ongoing commitment to whatever is you are doing.

We always project somewhere close to 300 interviews, and we have interviewed and invited a little more than half. We will invite another 100-120 applicants. Maybe more if necessary

Maybe? If any from the group we invited yesterday withdraw, the next folks will get an invite, thus the more sporadic invites. The next big invite will likely be sometime at the end of next week or week after.

Can't tell you how much it means to see this message. We are working to meet applicants where they are, but will always remind everyone that our email is the best way to connect officially with specific questions about your own journey. Hope you ordered a cheesy gordita crunch!

Is there a limit to how many updates we can submit?
 
FSU admin Thank you for being so transparent and informative throughout this process. This is my first time applying, and I’m sure it’s the same for many others in this chat. To my knowledge, this is the only school offering this kind of direct feedback to applicants rather than through email. Thank you is not enough.

I was recently waitlisted and I have a few questions. 1) I read earlier in the thread that LOIs are not accepted until later in the spring semester, but I was wondering if there is a more specific timeline. 2) Should students on the waitlist consider a campus visit?

@Steadyseal Please see what FSUAdmissions said regarding this matter on January 8th.
It appears that the remaining interview invites will be sent to fill spots when an applicant withdraws.
 
I like how fsu admission team is really being supportive. But I might be cooked ngl. I am not getting anything and more than half of II is send out
 
Hello all,

Winter Storm Enzo has effectively shut FSU COM and Tallahassee down. We have had to reschedule interview scheduled for this week and don't anticipate sending out any other invites for at least a week. Most interview invites will continue to go out in larger groups every two weeks or so, as they have been during the cycle. There will also be sporadic, one-off invites as applicants invited withdraw. We still expect to invite 120-150 applicants. Thanks for your patience and interest!!
