It looks like last year they sent interview invites out until mid march. There is still hope for us!
Yeah I guess I didn’t get an II. Bruh I will just accept and go DO. But if I do get an II along the way I will take it. Anyway, Congrat everyone!

I thought my personal goal was so aligned with FSU's mission and their goal. I dont know where i went wrong.
I think you need experience to back it up. These MD school are never shorts on applicant, 90% of applicant that apply to fsu wants to work in underserved area.
I got clinical experience but I don’t have experience working in underserved area so maybe that why I didn’t get II.

I dont think it was my GPA or MCAT, but i am growing as a reapplicant for sure. I have great experiences all over the Tampa/Ybor area. I don't like the feeling of being stagnant for a year. Thanks for all the advice guys, i know yall are going to succeed anywhere yall end up. Signing off of SDN indefinitely.

- So, unfortunately, we simply cannot interview everyone who is qualified, and mission-fit; we have an incredible amount of really exceptional applicants, many of you are included in that statement, but again, we simply cannot interview everyone that is amazing, and would do well here. I will continue to be as transparent as I can be as we begin reaching these latter parts of the cycle.
- I can guarantee that we are not weighing GPA + MCAT more (Don't even know what LM Score is?).
- Talking the talk vs Walking the walk; are you just saying you want to live our mission or do you actually have the experiences to back up what you say?
- Class is not full. Applicants that are interviewing that we will not be able to offer a seat immediately, will be notified. We aren't there yet and will likely not share here, only because it can change so quickly as applicants begin to withdraw.

@FSUAdmissionsOffice On average how many people do you tend to pull from the waitlist. And can we get interview feedback if we end up not getting pulled from the waitlist? Thanks!

Hey there,
It will vary from year to year, but we will usually offer 30-40% of waitlisted applicants. Some years it's closer to 25%, others it was closer to 50%. In any case, once we have a better idea of where waitlisted applicants are ranked, we will reach out with information about likelihood of receiving an offer; this usually happens in Early/Mid-May. At that point, we are happy to provide feedback to our waitlisted applicants.

Not a stupid question! The short answer is no; attending FSU for undergrad does not increase your chances of admission. Why we see so many of our undergrads at FSU COM is, they are familiar with our mission and many, want to continue to be a part of our family so we have tons of applicants from FSU. And yet, they aren't even the biggest feeder institution. UF applicants tend to make up a larger percentage of our class each year, followed closely with UCF, and then it falls away from there. I'm sorry, I meant the first tuesday of march, so 3/4. I got confused but I heard the guy say 2 tuesdays from my interview (which was yesterday).

When is the rejection letter for anyone who still haven’t gotten interview

Just a few quick notes:

- Applicants will hear about decision 2 Tuesdays after their interview day. I.e. If someone interviewed on 2/21 (last Friday), they will hear back on Tuesday, March 4th.
- This batch of interview invites went out on Tuesday of this week. We will invite one or two, here and there as folks withdraw.
- The last (anticipated) interview invites will go out in a little less than two weeks. Again, we may have sporadic invites after that if necessary. We expect to finish interviewing by the end of March.

Hi FSU, I had a quick question about submitting one final update. I’ve already sent a couple of updates throughout the cycle regarding my research and continued interest in your program. However, I am about to start a new volunteering experience that I’m excited about, and I wanted to know if it would be wise to send in an update this late in the cycle. Thank you for your time!

If waitlisted at FSU MED and want to send an LOI is it also favorable to tour the school. I was told the school only wants students that have been admitted to tour? Anyone know the answer?
They say only send an update when it is significant. You should not be send them updates unless you got another publication and etc. Volunteering experience is not a significant update especially this late in the application cycle. They already you are interested in the school since you apply.

Considering that FSU is a service-oriented program, they actually may be a bit more interested in your new volunteer experience compared to other non-service oriented schools. It probably depends on what type of volunteering experience it is, such as is it a significant clinical volunteering experience or something you are heavily involved in or something you hold a leadership position in? That may be worth including in an update letter. You kind of just have to use your own judgment regarding the significance of a volunteer experience and potential update.
Also, expressing continued interest in a program is key! Schools want to know that you are genuinely still interested in their program and not just some random school on the bottom of your application list. Writing about some of your interest in an update letter is often a great way to do this.
While it is a pretty late in the cycle, FSU is still extending interview invites so (if the update is significant enough) it may get you somewhere, you never know! Goodluck!!
I agree with what "tpaflamingo" said. However, "TTflorida" mentions that he has already sent a couple of updates throughout the cycle. Each update letter takes time and effort for the school to review, and sending more than one may just annoy the adcoms more than anything. If the new volunteering experience is significant enough, I would include it, but it could also raise questions about the timing. Starting a new volunteering activity this late in the application cycle might be perceived as an attempt to strengthen an application rather than a genuine commitment to helping the community.

Ahh I did not catch onto the part that they already sent multiple updates. Yeah if that is the case, then I would say don’t send this one unless it is super significant.
The previous updates would be enough to not only tell them about your significant updates, but sending multiple updates would also indicate to the school that the applicant is still highly interested (but there is a fine line between sending updates to show interest and just sending too many).
