Congrats! What was your complete date???+1 IS!!!!!!!! So thankful to God, first Chicago interview 😢
trying to not get my hopes up after DD last month… so scared
Thank you 🙂 8/3/24!!!Congrats! What was your complete date???
Thank you! This is not going to be what you want to hear… but just know your application and practice the MMI question examples that SDN provides. This was one of my friendliest interviews and it was so evident that they wanted to know us as people rather than interrogate us. I’d say there were no curveballs on the MMI as well
Just wait, this early they don't really rush the campus assignments cause there are a lot of seats they still need to give out, I know thats not really what you want to hear but it the truth lolIt’s been a month and I haven’t gotten my campus assignment- what should I do lol
90% of people pick the Chicago campus as their first choice but they only have like 60% of seats, so it is very competitive but unfortunatly there isn't much you can do about it besides express interest in one of the Chicago only programs.Anyone have super tough questions or anything on the MMI that rlly thru you off? Or anything to prepare for? I saw a lot of questions about our opinions on current healthcare reform etc on SDN. And anyone know if its super tough/competitive to get assigned to the Chi campus? I'm just freaking out this is my top school and I really wanna do well 😢
one on one!Does anyone know if the MMI is a group interview or one on one?
I didnt get an II until March last year, I now attend UICHaven't heard anything from them; does anybody know if they still have interview spots open/if they're considering applicants?
this the type of reassurance we needed. bless u frI didnt get an II until March last year, I now attend UIC
Appreciate your response, when do you think they’ll have my assignment lolJust wait, this early they don't really rush the campus assignments cause there are a lot of seats they still need to give out, I know thats not really what you want to hear but it the truth lol

When did you get your assignment?I saw a link going around for people accepted to Chicago--is there anything similar for Rockford? or anyone else accepted to Rockford interested in a group chat?
A (IS) on 11/22/2024, then site assignment on 12/16/2024When did you get your assignment?
Honestly screw Illinois and it's complete mess of a budget. With the large population that our state has, and huge brain drain in recent years due to the state's financial issues, they should really favor IS students a lot moreIS, LM 71, and complete on 9/15 (which I think is gonna hurt me). Lived in IL for almost 22 years, so this is also my top choice. You're not alone 🙂
Mine was open and less stressful than what i thought 🙂I’m sorry for the repetitive message, and I’ve searched through this year’s and the past year’s threads, but would just LOVE if anyone could help calm my nerves for this interview I have coming up soon!
Is it open or closed file, and would you say it was more or less stressful than you anticipated!? Thank you, best of luck to everyone here!!
Mine seemed closed file? My 1:1 interviewer did not ask me questions about specific experiences on my app, just the typical questions (why medicine, why uic, my hobbies etc). The MMI isnt bad either, know the typical answer response style and have some anecdotes handy because there are some open ended prompts.I’m sorry for the repetitive message, and I’ve searched through this year’s and the past year’s threads, but would just LOVE if anyone could help calm my nerves for this interview I have coming up soon!

I completely agree bro. I went into this cycle thinking I won't even get an interview with UICOM because I didn't wanna get my hopes high knowing their IS preference isn't as strong as some other states. I also interviewed with GPPA in high school but got rejected, so I have a delusional notion that they don't want me 🤣Honestly screw Illinois and it's complete mess of a budget. I mean they interview like 20% of in-state applicants, and you have to take into account that Illinois has a school reserved for only in-state students and a third public med school. Plus UIC reserves like 170 seats just for in-state students so I don't think its fair to claim that they don't favor in-state students enough.Honestly screw Illinois and it's complete mess of a budget. Thank you both!!!! This is really helpful. The high post-II A rate gives me hope but I’m definitely still nervous! Thanks again, good luck with everything!!!!!!Mine seemed closed file? It was a long day, but low stress. They almost said outright that their interview is a vibe check as they have a really high post-II A rate.
