2024-2025 Carle-Illinois

Sorry if this is blunt but is anyone else frustrated with how slow Carle is at getting back to people? I feel like the fact that they don't have interviews and didn't even have to select showcase candidates this year means that they should be giving decisions out quicker. I'm especially frustrated because they have one of the earliest start dates on my school list and I want to start planning my summer. Of course I don't know what goes on with their admissions process so I'm still giving them the benefit of the doubt, but it feels like it shouldn't take this long compared to what other schools do.
I completely agree with this. I’m not sure why they’re one of my last schools to hear back from when their app was the least amount of content and was submitted so long ago

What's crazy to me is the number of ads I've been getting for Carle over the past few weeks. Not only am I stuck waiting longer than anticipated, but I'm also reminded of it every single day 😭. Every time I open Instagram - Carle ad. Even the caprese sandwich recipe blog post had a Carle ad snuck in yesterday. I realize I'm getting all these probably as a result of my search history, but still, the same ads 2-5 times a day is crazy while we're in limbo. Not sure if its just me 😅

SO REAL I'm glad I'm not the only one. The whole "physician innovator" thing is burned into my brain from all those ads.

Here and now, I proclaim and abide by a binding vow:
If I get accepted to Carle (no WL), I will
(1) hike to the top of Mt. Fuji & visit Aokigahara Forest in Japan
(2) ask out a crush I have on a date for like, the first time ever
(3) get a tattoo
all three conditions must be met by the end of this summer. If I get the WL/R the vow is invalid.

Current student at Carle - just wanted to throw this out there for those weighing their options. Dean Cohen announced ~ 1 week ago that Carle will be fully accredited soon, just waiting for the official letter from LCME

Hey y'all, current M1 wanting to share housing info. My roommate and I (1 M 1 F with 4 cats total) are looking for 1-2 more roommates in a 4B/3b house. If you're sure about coming here, shoot me a message!

I'm also a current M1! Feel free to reach out with any questions. I can also provide some insight to the early CTE deadline and being on waitlists!

Hi, is there a discord group (or alternative forum) for accepted students? If so, could someone please share? Thanks 🙂

Hello all, current M1 here. My roommate and I are looking to sublease our spots in our house to 2 incoming M1s! We currently live in a 4-bedroom 2-bathroom house with one male and one female roommate. Our house is also very close to the medical school (15 minute walk, 5 minute bike ride, or 5 minute drive). If you are committed to Carle and are looking for housing, feel free to shoot me a message!

Withdrew my acceptance. This program seems fantastic and truly unique, but it isn't the best fit for me. The match list is crazy good. Best of luck to those on the waitlist!

Just checked my portal and there was an update but no email. Got the R after waiting for an insane amount time for no good reason imho. I submitted my application the first week of July, it's been enough time for a baby to come to full term. No interviews makes it even worse as people still hold onto the hope of something coming out of our waiting, even though that should make the admissions decisions come much faster than other schools honestly.

I hope Carle can become a bit more transparent about their process in the future. I know a lot of people feel like they really connect with the school's mission and it sucks to be stringed along for basically the entirety of the cycle for nothing in the end.
