Does anyone know how fast Chicago seats fill up? Is it first come first serve?
It is not first come first serve, but obviously it is what everyone wants so be prepared to go to your second choiceDoes anyone know how fast Chicago seats fill up? Is it first come first serve?
You got this!!good luck to everyone who has interviews or is waiting for a response soon! i have my interview this week and to say i’m incredibly nervous is an understatement. ❤️❤️❤️
Did you get DD on 1/17 or accepted?OOS post II A after DD on 1/17!!
DD months ago. A 1/17Did you get DD on 1/17 or accepted?
Gotcha, when did you interview?DD months ago. A 1/17
September!Gotcha, when did you interview?
I sent mine 12/26, got an email they were reviewed on 1/8. It's still marked incomplete in my portal though. For those who are accepted, how long did it take for UICOM to mark your transcripts as received after sending them?
Last year they were in April in person, there usually are student panels to learn more throughout the spring that are on zoomAnyone have any info on second look/admitted students day? When it is going to be this year and whether it’s in person or over zoom?
I asked this during my interview and they said it'll be in-person.Anyone have any info on second look/admitted students day? When it is going to be this year and whether it’s in person or over zoom?
Idk the exact date sorry!Do you know when in april these admitted student/second look events occur? I'll unfortunately have exams in april for my last semester of school.
Email containing interview information was sent like the day before the interview for me. There were like 7 MMI stations and the interview day lasted from like 9am to 2pmish?Sorry if this has been asked already, but when do we get more info about the interviews after confirming our invite? Does anybody who’s interviewed remember how many MMI stations there were and how long the interview day lasted?
2-4 weeks after you send in you rank list at this point, later in the cycle it is fasterAnyone know when campus placement is for the most recent accepted students?
Hello! Rockford is very small. I visited in October. I stayed at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Rockford and i loved it. I had a car. It was a short drive to the Rockford Campus. But please do your own research.Need recommendations for hotels near the School of Medicine in Rockford. Thanks in advance!
If you look at cycle track (link below) they seem to be sending out II still and historically they continue throughout February. They are a pretty slow school and don’t seem to be going in order either. They do accept updates/letters of interest so if you haven’t sent one maybe try that just in case? Not sure if it really changes anything at this point but worth a try if you are higher stat and want to reduce risk of yield protection. Best of luck! I wouldn’t give up hope entirely yet 🙂Is it safe to assume that there are no more IIs being given out? IS and LM 82, applied in late July and really hoped that I would at least get the chance to interview😢. My app was more research heavy so did they possibly yield protect me, or just a bad mission fit?
Hoping it’s this upcoming Monday 👀 Last year’s turnaround in January was 2 weeksAnyone know when campus placement is for the most recent accepted students?
Doesn't mean that they will have a similar timeline this year, but according to last year's SDN, the last II was sent on March 4th.If you look at cycle track (link below) they seem to be sending out II still and historically they continue throughout February. Interviews end once the class is full. That will be end of Feb through mid March. Don’t rely on people posting available interview dates bc they only release about 1 week of dates per round.Did they say in anyone's session when the last interview invites will be given out?
Nope! Hoping today at 5ish 👀Anyone who got the A from January get their site assignment yet?
Yeah and you can take notes. I think it’s like 2 minutesDuring the MMI do you get time to think about your answer?
I guess we wait til next week 😭Nope! Hoping today at 5ish 👀
I've sent a bunch of update letters but I don't think I've sent a legit LOI yet. I guess it wouldn't hurt. I'm not sure why they would wait until very late near the very end of the cycle to interview a high-stat Illinois resident though. I was complete in late July and they've definitely seen my file by now - so if I haven't gotten the II yet, my file has probably been thrown in the trash pile alreadyIf you look at cycle track (link below) they seem to be sending out II still and historically they continue throughout February. If it makes you feel better, my stats are literally right around the median and I think (in my opinion, which could be wrong) I described my mission fit well for their service, research, and clinical focuses, but still not a word from them. 😔I've sent a bunch of update letters but I don't think I've sent a legit LOI yet. I honestly think it goes by stats. Higher stats tend to get their first choice. Might be totally wrong tho.I just finished my interview today and got the interview end of January. did anyone who got the chicago campus do or say something that they beleive helped them get chosen for the chicago campus- update letters etc?
Nobody really knows but I can promise you it is not by stats, if that were the case I would have ended up in Chicago along with a lot of my classmatesI honestly think it goes by stats. Higher stats tend to get their first choice. Might be totally wrong tho.
As someone who is an OOS applicant and was assigned to the Peoria campus, I can confirm that culture shock and the lack of familial support are definitely some of things I am VERY worried about.I do wonder if they are more likely to grant the first choice to applicants they think may have other offers and would only attend UIC if it was at their first choice campus. This may not mean higher stats get first choice — there’s lots of different reasons why a school may like an applicant. They might not give first choice to applicants w stats well above their avg if they think the applicant is not gonna take their offer anyways — same idea as “yield protection.” I have also heard that they’re not as likely to give OOS applicants Rockford/Peoria unless they signal in their app that they would fit it because it might be too great of a culture shock and isolating considering they don’t have a local familial support system? This is all speculation of course and not rooted in anything but anecdotes
Just get to know you classmates well, Peoria is a small place surrounded by nothingAs someone who is an OOS applicant and was assigned to the Peoria campus, I can confirm that culture shock and the lack of familial support are definitely some of things I am VERY worried about.
it had 7 stations, and i remember them being with faculty, students, and even members of the community —Is the MMI with a faculty member or student?
Thank you so much. Did you find the questions reasonable? Did they ask you follow-up questions? I am really nervous it is my first MMI.it had 7 stations, and i remember them being with faculty, students, and even members of the community —
they asked follow up and yes, i think the questions were very reasonable. i think there was one questions that was interesting that made me pause on what i should say but other then that i stressed out for no reason tbhThank you so much.
