I just finished my interview today and got the interview end of January. did anyone who got the chicago campus do or say something that they beleive helped them get chosen for the chicago campus- update letters etc?
I honestly think it goes by stats. Higher stats tend to get their first choice. Might be totally wrong tho.

Nobody really knows but I can promise you it is not by stats, if that were the case I would have ended up in Chicago along with a lot of my classmates

I do wonder if they are more likely to grant the first choice to applicants they think may have other offers and would only attend UIC if it was at their first choice campus. This may not mean higher stats get first choice — there’s lots of different reasons why a school may like an applicant. They might not give first choice to applicants w stats well above their avg if they think the applicant is not gonna take their offer anyways — same idea as “yield protection.” I have also heard that they’re not as likely to give OOS applicants Rockford/Peoria unless they signal in their app that they would fit it because it might be too great of a culture shock and isolating considering they don’t have a local familial support system? This is all speculation of course and not rooted in anything but anecdotes

As someone who is an OOS applicant and was assigned to the Peoria campus, I can confirm that culture shock and the lack of familial support are definitely some of things I am VERY worried about.

Just get to know you classmates well, Peoria is a small place surrounded by nothing

it had 7 stations, and i remember them being with faculty, students, and even members of the community —
Thank you so much. Did you find the questions reasonable? Did they ask you follow-up questions? I am really nervous it is my first MMI.

To calm my neurosis, when in the day did people receive their decisions? Signed, an interviewee hoping to hear back tomorrow or next Friday :')

Do we think people that interviewed today and tomorrow will hear back next week?

Oh woah thats awesome. And then how long after until you received your campus assignment?
Hopefully this upcoming Monday, which will make it from 1/17 to 2/17. Someone said that later in the cycle they are faster in campus assignments, but this year campus assignments have come out the Monday before admission decisions

Cool! Thank you for all the insight!

Its a synchronous MMI, 7 stations, 2 minutes prep, note taking allowed. How long is the answering time? and are there follow ups questions included in that?
and then there is one traditional interview with a faculty member. How long is that typically?

If anyone could provide those details that would be awesome!
Thanks 🙂

Any Peoria students on here that would be willing to pm me a little about their experience w the campus/specific qs about peoria?

I think it was 5 min response time, follow ups are included but it depends on the question. The trad interview was 30-40 min.

Do y'all know when the admissions committee meets each month? I am writing up an update letter and want to send it in before they meet this month. I think I remember hearing its the 3rd week but does anyone know which day?

My understanding is Thursday they meet, and Friday they notify (or Monday). Not sure how accurate. FX

Hey! Could anyone kindly comment on their experience with the interview day here? I have mine coming up , nervous af haha
I thought it was very chill! The MMI scenarios were pretty straightforward and had a nice mixture of questions with more than enough time to answer. The faculty interview was awesome, I could have talked for hours with my faculty interviewer, she was simply the best! Don't freak out, just trust in your application and trust that you are a good fit for the school already because you got an interview invite. Best of luck, you got this in the bag!!!
