I was just able to submit the prereq, I think they fixed the error.

For the question asking about the single, most rewarding experience - is it asking about one specific event/story?

This has been the longest wait.

Please, Johns Hopkins, just take my money.

Anyone know what happens if I accidentally clicked the "Not [your name]" hyperlink? Finger slipped on my trackpad.

This was the email I got. I am hopeful that based on their wording, they will sent out an email when the issue is resolved

Has anyone been able to contact the office of admissions? I sent an email on Monday regarding switching my program designation but no response. Just tried calling the office but its a purely automated message.

Would it be a mistake to not maximize the secondary questions to talk about clinical/research experiences? I'm starting to realize the adversity, wonder, and rewarding experience essays i planned to write all revolve around extracurricular athletics like running and rock climbing. Concerned about sounding like a broken record but more concerned about not sounding genuine if I work too hard to show off my pre-med accomplishments

I did a mix. If I thought it fit, I included premed stuff. If not, I didn’t. They specifically say with the wonder prompt that they want you to choose something not premed. I say do whatever feels true to you because your genuineness will be evident

Is anyone using the anything else essay to write why school? I'm not sure if that's what they're looking for since the equity statement essay already includes some "why Johns Hopkins"

i think i might use it to talk about one of my other interests/research if it doesn’t get brought up elsewhere in the app. my diversity/why us/why medicine is gonna be on a pretty specific topic so i feel like i may have more to talk about

Did anyone receive email confirmation after submitting, or was it just the portal page that updated saying that "Your supplemental application is now complete and will be sent to the Admissions Committee for review..."

Would anybody be willing to read my wonder essay? I took a different spin on it and I was hoping to see if others thought it was okay to go with

For the question "Is any member of your family, spouse, spouse-to-be, or domestic partner a current student, house officer, or employee of the Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins Hospital, or other affiliated partners?"

Is this to access for conflicts of interest? If so, should I list myself, as I graduated from & I am currently employed by Hopkins.

2: Briefly describe your single, most rewarding experience. Feel free to refer to an experience previously described in your AMCAS application if needed (400 word limit)

Folks who are using an experience they used in their primary for this question, how are you approaching it from a different angle?

This question frustrates me because... is that not what the most meaningful experience category is for?

i talked about being an MA (which was also one of my MMs) but gave a specific pt encounter

Just got an incomplete app reminder, did anyone see a timeframe specified for submitting this one? I’m going as fast as I can 😅

I only got this secondary 7 days ago. I thought 2 weeks was an acceptable time frame. My plan was to finish it towards the end of this week

Same! What’s even funnier is that their app portal has only been functional for like three days now.

How long should the first essay be? I don't see how we can talk about one specialty of interest for 400 words

Were you able to reach them? I'm having the same issue. I selected "Combined Medical Degree/Graduate" on AMCAS because I'm interested in the MD/MPH program, but I think this may have put me in the MD/MBA pool because there is a mandatory question on my secondary asking about my interest in that program.

To alleviate any concerns over timing, I submitted it like 8-10+ weeks later and was complete in like October/November (2023-2024 cycle) after giving up on it for a while but deciding why not at this point. I got an II and offer here so if you need a little bit more time past two weeks, definitely don’t sweat it!

Attended Hopkins a few years back. Attending now. Happy to answer any questions.
For entering the pre-reqs–for example Mathematics–what is best?

There are 2 required courses in "Calculus and/or Statistics." I got an A- in Calc but A's in all of my stats classes, including advanced ones from my graduate degree. Is it better to include the Calc class or just do stats classes where I got A's? And should I only include ugrad stats classes or is graduate-level ok?

Any help is appreciated!! Hoping to submit asap.

Does anyone know if the "professional headshot" needs to just be a good photo or us in professional attire?

I only used like 180 words. Just talk about why but don't ramble if you don't need to

Since they all fulfill the pre-reqs, just include all of them if you are able. If there are limited spots, just include the A courses. I only included ugrad classes when I applied despite having graduate-level classes, but I'd say it's up to you since they all fulfill the pre-reqs.

This is what I was wondering too! I only used 160 words to talk about my most rewarding experience, and barely over 200 to talk about my experience not being in the majority. I wonder if they expect more?

I was for some reason worried some classes wouldn't count when I was submitting this last cycle (2023-2024) - included some classes with less than ideal grades (Bs/B-s, etc.). Didn't have any effect on my outcome it seems.

I did only include my undergrad coursework for these portions though.

Hello! I have some questions about the LOR requirements. My English professor who I was relying on to write my non-science LOR has ghosted me 😢. I am scrambling to see if any of my other professors will write me one but that is TBD. This is totally my fault for not planning ahead as JHU is the only school on my list that requires a non-science LOR. My questions are as follows:

1. Will my app be considered incomplete until the non-science LOR is received, or will it move forward in the review process?
2. I plan on submitting four other letters ASAP as they are all ready (2 science, 1 PI, and 1 MD that I work with currently). Do I have to email admissions and let them know that the non-science is in addition to this and is pending since it will be sent in later? Is two extra letters not worth it as their FAQs say they might not even read these?
3. What would be the latest I can get in the non-science LOR and still have a fighting chance?
4. Finally, if I am not able to get a non-science letter should I even bother finishing the secondary? Has anyone heard any success stories of anyone getting in without a non-science?

Any input on my questions above is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

did anyone get an email that their app was submitted/complete? or should I just be going off the 6 check marks on the portal
