Character counts for each question?

I also received the secondary application, but I dont see character counts. Im able to add in way more than last year’s character counts. Did they just remove character count this year?

They removed the character count 🙁 I emailed them and asked. Are you a re-applicant?

Can anyone provide insight into the second prompt, "Please describe how your past experiences or future plans contribute to enriching and enhancing the learning environment at UKCOM"?
I can't really tell what kind of question this is. It mentions diversity earlier on so is it about diversity, or should I focus more on learning like it says in the last sentence?

I am writing mine on how I created an inclusive environment on my campus/Special Olympics and how I will apply those same principles to the learning environment at UK.

Did anyone else get a "The University of Kentucky Invites You to Take the Next Step in Your Application" and its just saying to submit the secondary even though you already have?

I wrote about what I am doing during gap year, what I hope to learn, how that aligns w UKCOM / what I will be able to bring to the table.

Yes I got that strange email as well. Does your status on their webpage show letter of references with a red X saying verification pending, even though they already have them through the AMCAS letter service?

Does anyone have any insights on how to answer "Describe an experience or situation which made you feel grateful"? I feel like it's a very vague prompt. Is it recommended to write about a patient experience, or could it be about a hobby or a personal memorable experience?

Im an OOS applicant with no ties to Kentucky, do you think its worth applying?
It’s worth noting that their NKY campus considers some of Ohio and Indianan as “in state” and I’m sure the bowling green and morehead campuses have similar distinctions for local areas. So if you have any ties to a place like Cincinnati or strong connections to rural populations in general, I think it’s worth applying. I have some people in my class from way way far away that just had the Ohio connections.

Do you know of anyone without Kentucky/surrounding area ties that have been admitted?

I just submitted my secondary and noticed that the letters have the red X even though mine are in, were you able to get it resolved?

I used an experience I had tutoring refugees from my home country and talked about my privilege as someone who is not a refugee. It's kinda niche but you can talk about a time when you realized your privilege

They have to verify the LORs meet their requirements. I was unfortunately one requirement short and they emailed me about this. So I am getting that resolved and then will have complete status.

Does anyone else's portal say "Verification Pending." for letters of rec? Is it normal for it to say this right after you submit? I submitted today (7/29), but for all other schools there is always a green check mark next to my letters of rec box.

I submitted mine on 7/26 and it still says verification pending! I think they may be checking our LORs to mark our application as complete. This process may take a couple of days.

Yeah they check your LORs! One of my letter writers apparently didn't sign his letter, so they emailed me to get it fixed. Once he had resubmitted the letter to AMCAS I got the complete email

How long did it take y'all to get your secondary? OOS applicant, last year I got it within 4 days of the primary but this year I submitted on 7/26 and haven't gotten it yet. Maybe I just won't?

I got my "completed" application email today after submitting my secondary on 07/26 as an OOS applicant. Is it normal to get this email after over 10 days? I know they mark the app complete once they verify LORs, but I didn't know it took so long. Anyone know how this process works? Thanks.

according to "https://students-residents.aamc.org/media/7011/download" UKCOM sends secondary applications to "Selected screened applicants."

what does "Selected screened applicants" actually mean? is it promising if I received a secondary app?

I am OOS
Last year's thread said that they're very selective and only send out secondaries to about 1/4 of total applicants, then interview about 50% of those who submit secondaries.
