2024-2025 Kentucky

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
In the "your application is complete email," they said they would be in contact within the next couple of weeks with a decision. Do they have a quick turnaround time with either telling you if you got an II or R?

I got that email 9/4 and still haven’t heard anything so it may be longer than a few weeks

Is anyone else who completed their secondary before August still waiting to hear back for an interview? They might just be way behind but wanted to check

has anyone interviewed at the UKCOM- Northern Kentucky location? Any tips or any details on how the interviews themselves are structured? I can't seem to find anything on the portal!!

That's where I interviewed. The interviews were open file and relatively conversational, but they did have to get through a list of set questions which sometimes disrupted the flow. The Northern Kentucky staff did a good job of making the day informative and relaxed overall.

It’s been over a month and a half since my app got complete, in the email they said a few weeks. Is emailing them worth it? Or is it advised against?

MY FIRST A AHHHH!!! OOS for RPLP! I got a call from my student interviewer at about 8:15 EST. Over the moon I loved this program!!!
Congratsss!! I’m interviewing at the RPLP program soon also. Could you give me any insight into the interview process? Were the questions similar to the ones on SDN

I haven’t seen what’s on SDN but it was very conversational and low stress. There were two traditional interviews with 4 official questions each to ask you but they did a good job working them into conversation. They really just seemed to want to get to know you and offer you a chance to ask questions about the program. One of my favorite interviews for sure! The RPLP people are so nice.

Great I’m rlly glad to hear that! Were the questions ethical based or traditional why medicine etc. also is there a timeline for decision and does the RPLP program have a waitlist option or is it just acceptance/denied. Thank you sm!

I think more situational questions like tell me about a time? I don’t really remember much specifically. I’m not sure about waitlist sorry! The committee meets every other Thursday and they will tell you like the next day either way if I remember right. They will tell you at interview day what date that is specifically and even by what time you should expect a call/email!

has anyone received an interview invite or pre-II rejection lately? If so, when did you submit your secondary?

Does anyone know if we can submit an update letter? And if so, do you know how because it is not in the secondary application portal? Thanks!

Wondering this too, I emailed them asking if we could send updates like 3 weeks ago and never got a response.

I sent an update letter and they told me that they don’t take them in any form

Are family members allowed to join for the tour of the campus? My dad is driving up there with me and wants to go on the tour but idk if that's allowed

Unfortunately, it’s all kind of behind closed doors at the hospital. The medical school and the hospital are essentially one and the same. The meal, the interviews, the tours, are all intermingled and it really wouldn’t be easy or probably even possible. The hospital is large enough that he could find ways to entertain himself or grab a meal.

It’s probably for the best, since the tour is your chance to have one on one time with the other prospective students and the current students who will be your tour guides. Feel free to message me if you have any questions, I’m an M1 at UK.

edit: not interview tour, you can schedule a personal tour where your parents can come

did you have multiple interviews that day or was it 1? I read somewhere that it was 2 but now I cant seem to find it anymore

Sorry last question, could you explain what the non-interview panel was like?
It was two students and you could ask them whatever you wanted. Very casual and good opportunity to find out student perspective since it’s just like 3 interviewees and the students
