This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
They reached out to me to finish submitting my tax forms and based on the email they said they don't review your application until your in-state status is verified. Not sure if this means like before the interview or after but I would get them in if I were you
+1 they reached out to me as well.

EDP, got deferred to regular decision today. Kind of heartbroken LOL 🥲 but maybe I still have a chance
A deferral is still better than an R!! See if you can write a letter of intent to upload to your application to show continued interest. Also it’s still early and you can apply to other schools!! Hope is not lost!!

You'll probably get rejected/Waitlisted. But they did you a favor to still apply to other schools and have a chance. I'd drop about 20 more OOS friendly schools just to have a better shot at being accepted.

Can anyone who has interviewed share anything about their experience? I’m aware of the NDA but if anyone is comfortable sharing their general experience (vibes from the interviewers, stress level, whether closed/open file, etc) interviewing 9/17 and I am really really struggling to find confidence. I know I need to change my mindset but just can’t stop telling myself I’m going to blow it.

Not nearly as bad as I expected. I would say the interviewers tried to make it less stressful but also with MMI there’s not always a ton of reaction on the part of your interviewer (don’t get in your head about that). Generally I thought the questions let me show a broad range of myself and some of them were kind of fun! One of my less stressful interviews so far for sure.

It’s honestly less stressful than I thought it would be.

The interviews are honestly so nice. It was a bit intimidating at first but once you start talking you calm down. It’s a wide range of questions but nothing tooo crazyy.

I would say practice talking infront of the mirror and with other people to help you build up confidence. Also being personable helps a lot!
Like some one mentioned don’t gauge how you’re doing based on the interviewers facial expressions.

Also plsssss have a fun fact ready to go 😭😭
I got put on the spot and panickeddddd!

Unpopular view but I don't think I'm a huge fan of MMI. It felt like a second Casper. If you enjoyed Casper, then you should be good for the interview.

I'm curious about the "admissions pathways" application process–any of you doing that? Is it just essentially you committing to go to a regional clinical campus after preclinical, with the benefit of a higher chance of acceptance?

I am. That’s the way I have interpreted it, my PI is affiliated with one of the regional campuses so I chose it. This the first year for the pathway whereas previous years just chose it as an option after preclinicals. I think they were having trouble getting students to commit to it and there was a big stink amongst the current students so they adopted this strategy instead. At least that’s what a current m4 told me

Augusta got absolutely hammered early this morning by Helene and to be honest, nobody really saw it coming. My wife and I have been out of power and don’t expect to have it until Monday. Every home surrounding mine is completely destroyed, the damage is unlike anything I’ve seen living here my whole life. I would just try to be patient to hear back on anything for a little bit.

Anyone have any guess what percentage of their interviews they have already sent out? I know there’s no way of knowing exactly just curious

I would honestly estimate 25%-30% or so. They sent interviews consistently all the way through the end of January last year, but the CycleTrack data is such a small sample size it’s really hard to know.

Do not worry about this school for a while! Plenty of time left 🙂

Hey peeps, current MCG student here. They're closing campus for the entire week, and only essential workers will be present. The city is in shambles and the majority of Augusta is still out of power/ water. Sorry, but I expect it'll be a while before they start reviewing applications again.

Hey everyone! Current student and would love to answer any questions you all have about MCG. DM me 🙂

I feel like considering the damage from the hurricane that decisions will probably delayed to later than previous years
Many faculty will be back on campus tomorrow for normal operations so I think the delay will be only about a week. Still some areas without power around but many have gotten it back. No real internet around Augusta but on campus and at the hospital it’s all good

Does anyone know when or how often the admissions committee meets? Just was wondering if early October interviewees will get decisions with this first round or if it won’t be until November

Any chance of acceptances tomorrow?
Historically, MCG releases acceptances on the 3rd Friday of every month, starting in October. That would in fact be tomorrow!

They tend to start sending them late mornings or early afternoons (sometime between 11am and 2pm).

However, I’m unsure if the hurricane has delayed this. I personally am going to expect nothing tomorrow and be pleasantly surprised if something does happen!

Congrats everyone. I know you're all worked your butt's off. Very well deserved. Manifesting mine in few weeks!

If I’m not mistaken, they tend to do two or three batches of those emails, so day’s not over yet!
