IS WL, interviewed 1/31... anyone know the likelihood of being accepted off WL? Plan on writing a LOI within the next couple weeks.

Threads from the past couple years show some waitlist movement in May each year. Also may depend on which campus you interviewed for. I've heard the regional campuses take more of their class from the waitlist than Milwaukee, though there is always movement at all 3.

On MSAR it says that they took 50 students from the waitlist which is a good amount and that very few of waitlist acceptances were given out prior to may, so its likely most waitlist movement happens closer to the end of the cycle! Also it says that the waitlist is not ranked and that it is a holistic review when picking applicants, so an LOI will likely go a long way along with application updates.

Does anybody have any ideas as to why roughly the same amount of people were waitlisted today (per CycleTrack and SDN) as the last 3 decision days combined? MCW does not interview for waitlist positions correct?
They don't "interview for the waitlist", but it's probably because we are nearing the end of their interview dates.
Sometimes a school will hold off making more offers because they know they will soon have all the candidates finished, and they can assess the last few interview dates at one meeting before they make more offers.

Will there be another round for II or is this the last time.and how big is usually the class size at Milawkee

i am planning on withdrawing my A. does anyone know if that is done via the portal or email?

Is it looking more like an R for me at this point? Submitted secondary on 7/23/24, Marked complete 9/16/24 (delayed due to incoming MCAT score), and have heard nothing since. I saw online that many people who were complete around this time and had low stats were rejected in Jan, so not sure whether my app got lost or if they actually see something in it.

I just hope they give me a chance b/c this is my #2 school behind the one I'm WL'd at and I had sent them an update letter in Jan explaining my new pubs 🙁 PLS MCW PLS.

Interviewed for HESP, just got an email they aren’t doing a cohort this year due to an uncertainty in federal funding… “Due to ongoing financial uncertainties, including potential changes from federal actions…”
Did they give any other info? I applied but havent heard back about interview or gotten the cancellation info... i was worried something like this could happen but thought they were mostly funded by state and other orgs based on the statement they have on their page so i thought it would be safe 🙁

That’s what I thought too. First paragraph said they were impressed by my passion for health equity, second was what I quoted and they said “As a result, there will not be a HESP Scholars class for 2029. This one-year pause will allow MCW to assess the evolving landscape and ensure the program's long-term sustainability before welcoming future cohorts.” and continued on to talk about how they recommend seeking out other scholarship opportunities and they’d be honored to support us if we still matriculate at MCW.

Im out of state so most likely will matriculate to my state MD school for the lower tuition :/

For the A's, is anyone going to Admit day and want to carpool from the airport from OOS?

Dang if they really do just skip over our class that sucks … tired of “living in unprecedented times”

I interviewed for HESP in Jan and was sent a rejection in February, so although that sucked, I am still very surprised that they are pausing the program

Welp. Sent admissions an email yesterday about asking for an update regarding the cycle and was greeted with a nice pre-II rejection today. RIP and gl to yall

P/S, this school can go f*ck themselves with their email entailing their other career opportunities. I just wrote you pages of sh**t explaining why DOCTOR.
