Anyone receive their secondary OOS yet? Getting a little nervous, although I'm sure they're being sent out in waves with OOS taking lower priority.

I haven’t. Looking at last year’s thread it looks like OOS secondaries went out pretty late

I cannot wait to be in class at MU next year. It's a great school! Let's go!

What does their OOS form ask?

What does their OOS form ask?

It asks to elaborate on any connection to Missouri, and there are also different demographics where you can write about how you will contribute to the diversity of the class (rural, urban, etc)

Anyone hear back yet after submitting the OOS form?

Everything takes awhile to get processed at MU school of medicine. But it is worth the wait. Not a better school out there. I can't wait to start!

Got the pre secondary rejection yesterday. I had zero ties to the Missouri or Midwest, so I kinda expected it.
aww i'm sorry. when did u submit? i'm probably getting the same thing since i have no ties either

I still have not heard anything after submitting the OOS form. Should we contact them?

You could call the admissions office. They are super helpful.

Sorry guys, it is very difficult being out-of-state. I was OOS last cycle and was fortunate to be accepted.

For those of you who are OOS and received a secondary, are you guys writing about things that you didn't mention in your OOS form? Some schools only look at the primary and secondary when making decisions and I don't want to leave important things out but also don't want to repeat myself. Wasn't sure if I should repeat parts of the OOS form in the secondary if it's disregarded/not part of the decision process anymore or if it gets relooked at and considered for decisions.

I think we have to repeat. I don’t think they would look at the form again

I submitted my secondary early July. Under "current application status" it says that there is a hold on my application. Wondering if anyone sees this as well (is this something I should actually contact admissions about or does it just mean they haven't made a decision?). Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am in my first cycle and learning about the process.

Usually it means they are holding on to your app for possible interview in the future. Sometimes they want to see what their pool of applicants looks like this year before inviting people

Okay, that's what I figured but wanted to make sure there wasn't something out of the ordinary going on. I appreciate the help!

How long for OOS form to be sent? Submitted primary in late July and haven't heard anything back yet.

For those who filled the OOS form, how long did it take get a decision on whether you qualified for the secondary?

Around 3.5 weeks
Do you mean 3.5 weeks after initially sending or 3.5 weeks after you received the email that they are reviewing the form? Because I submitted mine like a week ago and got an email that they are currently reviewing my form.

So I submitted the form, and then 3.5 weeks later I got an email that I was approved for a secondary. I never got an email that they were reviewing my OOS form

I got an email that they were reviewing my OOS form on 8/7, but have not heard anything back since. Does this mean I am probably just a pre-secondary rejection? I have ties to Columbia.

How long does it usually take to get a decision regarding the OOS form? I submitted almost 5 weeks ago since my completion email where they said I should get a decision within 4 weeks. Also does anyone have stats on how selective they are in picking people for the secondary?

Sounds good, thank you! Any chance you would be willing to say your stats/LM score? I appreciate it!
I'm non-trad, 520 MCAT, LM 73. I did grad school a couple years ago with 3.98 GPA but not sure how much they actually view that

Has anyone interviewed here yet? If so, what feedbakc/advice do you have going into interview day? Any thing I should go over?

Pretty standard open file interviews. Go over your application + secondaries and make sure you know them inside out. Make sure you have some responses ready (not scripted) to most of the basic interview questions (ex. "why us?" "why medicine?", etc. etc.) My interviewers were very nice. Interview vibes for sure but there's room to have a good conversation. And come prepared with questions.
