Maybe this Friday?! I hope so at least😂Do we think more acceptances will come out this Friday? Or give it another couple of weeks?
Sincerely, a 10/18 interviewer
Maybe today? My anxiety cannot handle the waiting 😂Maybe this Friday?! I hope so at least😂
Oh gosh good to know. Thanks!!Based on previous years, the big acceptance day is likely going to be next week on Thursday or Friday.
Gonna be a nervous day for us all. Best of luck to you and others on that acceptance!Oh gosh good to know. Thanks!!
Current M1 at UNMC here 🙂 came to check this thread since I remember how much I wanted more info when I was deciding where to go last year.I think the wording was confusing, i edited that comment for clarity. I was trying to say that basically I heard from a family friend whos a med student graduating soon that UNMC has bad grad/retention rates...so its mirroring lots of Caribbean med schools where a sizeable # of the students who start M1 doesnt actually finish in 4 years. Basically I called my family friend a few weeks ago and they were estimating the # who finish in their M1 cohort is in the 70's-80's% which is really low... where creighton/michigan are around 95%. I heardwhen it comes to the education admin is kind of toxic and "old school." its not super reassuring that a lot wont even finish their cohort but im going to look more into if anything is going to change later if i really might end up going here¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Current UNMC student here. None of this is true. The most recent class of 2024 graduated 129 students. Incoming class was 132. This is published information. You should take this down dude, it’s embarrassingly false.I think the wording was confusing, i edited that comment for clarity. From my experience and my friends' experiences who are M2s/M3s/M4s and even current residents, I do not think this is true. Last year's class had one individual who had to repeat the year and they are currently in my class now. Overall they are extremely willing to work with students who are struggling/students who have failed blocks, and 94% graduate in four years (this was stated as a percentage during our Orientation week presentation). Even if you fall below the pass rate for a block, they consider personal circumstances/etc, and make decisions with everything in mind. The admin is much more receptive than other schools I've heard about, and actively asks for feedback after every single block and actually changes things rather than just getting feedback and doing nothing. We have had insane changes to prioritize medical student wellness even when comparing two years ago to now. For further context in comparing schools, I have friends at Creighton Med who have shared a strong dislike for their admin and overall schedule as it does not promote student wellness at all (only having one exam per block, no off weekends, etc compared to UNMC where we get every other weekend completely off). Not saying one is better than the other, but just what I have heard and experienced.
Also for context, UNMC does not run a Carribean School contrary to the other person's comment. They are however opening a new medical school satellite location in Kearney focused on rural Nebraska healthcare in 2026 I believe.
Feel free to message me separately with any questions! So far M1 year has honestly been one of the best years of my life, and I hope that is the case for you wherever you end up going as well 🙂
Got the MD-PhD A last Friday (1/10)!Has anyone applying for the MD/PhD program heard back yet post II?
Congrats future doc! Regular MD or MD/PHD? Or off of the waitlist?IS A received this afternoon!! Interviewed 10/14 🥹
Thank you! Regular MDCongrats future doc! Regular MD or MD/PHD? Or off of the waitlist?
Anybody heard anything today? If not I'm gonna hold out hope for next Friday...?Based on previous years, the big acceptance day is likely going to be next week on Thursday or Friday.
There was an IS A on Wednesday of this week. Are you IS or OOS? In the past, more people posted when they got acceptances. So either we get lucky and they do some OOS acceptances today, or we have to wait.Anybody heard anything today? If not I'm gonna hold out hope for next Friday...?
Every Friday from here on out is gonna be like this😂Anybody heard anything today? If not I'm gonna hold out hope for next Friday...?
I was also pretty confused when the A email came on Wednesday; the attached letter was even dated to today (Jan 17), so I think Friday is the norm. There was an IS A on Wednesday of this week. Wow...I really feel for that one person, humiliating for everyone to see you as the "one" that had to repeat. I am sure better than the alternative, but brutal.Current M1 at UNMC here 🙂 came to check this thread since I remember how much I wanted more info when I was deciding where to go last year.

Last year I was deferred to regular cycle and got a R on 1/18 if that’s helpful. Hope it’s an A for you!Has anyone who got deferred to the regular cycle from EDP heard anything yet?
I’m manifesting itSo peoples, what do we think? Is tomorrow the day we hear of more acceptances?!
I’m manifesting it
Our collective manifesting was not enough. On to next Friday😂I’m manifesting it
Saw that. Good for whomever that was! I hope we continue to see acceptances!Cycle track shoes and acceptance on 1.28.25
my advice is do not use match rates to factor into where you go.They are often used more as a placement rate as they include those who soaped, which is really misleading. Some schools even report their students matching to "research years" .... Furthermore, schools will generally keep their pre-SOAP match lists and rates internal so most will never know the real data.Does anyone by any chance know UNMCs match rate? And also when scholarships are awarded?
100% match rateDoes anyone by any chance know UNMCs match rate? And also when scholarships are awarded?
Sorry to hear that it didn’t go your way this time😞 Seems like our application was pretty similar (besides 8k clinical hours I’m not even close to that). What is your LizzyM score if you don’t mind sharing?IS R last night at almost 5pm. Strong ties, interviewed 11/2. Hope everyone got better news ! Super blindsided by this one. Had average stats and over 8k clinical hours at NE Med. 🥲
Also wondering this^Has anyone who interviewed 11/1 or after been accepted yet?
I interviewed in October and haven't heard anything.Has anyone who interviewed 11/1 or after been accepted yet?
