So I am guessing that means no news this week -_-
So I am guessing that means no news this week -_-
And the suffering continuesLOL. They changed their notification timeline on their FAQ page again:
OG - "Typically, we will be done with all final decisions, including wait list invitations by the end of March, and no later than the first week in April."
New - "All final decision notifications, including acceptance, wait list, and unsuccessful application, will be sent to applicants by early April."
if they dont send an update this week i am seriously considering withdrawing cause this is ridiculous
Also disappointing that anyone getting an acceptance from this point forward will probably miss out on second look :/At this point even if they send an acceptance it would feel just Meh- Especially to people who have acceptances elsewhere.
When is the second look? Also disappointing that anyone getting an acceptance from this point forward will probably miss out on second look :/
Horrible take. Booooooooo👎👎At this point even if they send an acceptance it would feel just Meh- Especially to people who have acceptances elsewhere.
I’m pretty sure it’s literally this weekend lolWhen is the second look?
yes its this weekend. Saturday.I’m pretty sure it’s literally this weekend lol
EDIT: can anyone who’s been accepted confirm?
Admissions as well. Sadly gained a lot of intel last year when my friend got WL. Given southern culture and how relationships can help open doors i thought the same for my friend and recommended going to Office Hours, showing up to campus events, sending emails, and showing interest. Didn't work and he got rejected because after the interview you're just a series of scores based on your application and interview. Even the admissions rep told him as much as she thought he was a great candidate there was nothing she could do because this is how their process is designed.where did you get this info from?
Can you clarify: did someone in admissions tell you directly that the waitlist is internally ranked (as you described in your earlier post) or is that a conclusion you are coming to based on the fact that your friend did not get off the waitlist by showing interest?Admissions as well. That can’t have been an easy decision to make, but thank you for standing up to this insanity. Best of luck future doc!!Withdrawing my app today after interviewing like 8 months ago. I can’t put my life on hold anymore for a school that clearly doesn’t care about my time. If you have other acceptances that you would rather attend, I’d encourage you to do the same and to leave feedback in their withdrawal form. The medical education system abuses us at every single level and we just take it. If you can, push back.
Do better, UNC.
Same 😐. Thanks UNC for making me wait six months for that 🫠R OOS just now
When did you submit FAFSA and the portal form? I'm still waiting to hear on Fin Aid!Received scholarship notice this morning! I definitely didn’t expect them to have it ready this soon.
lol trust me it was directly from admissions and i know a lot more than i can share. i know it sucks that everything is on the table but you're just a number at this point. all of us accepted were too, we just happened to be higher numbers. Can you clarify: did someone in admissions tell you directly that the waitlist is internally ranked (as you described in your earlier post) or is that a conclusion you are coming to based on the fact that your friend did not get off the waitlist by showing interest?
If it is the latter, please be careful about speaking authoritatively about information that is speculative. Your description of the waitlist process contradicts what someone else said they heard directly from admissions in office hours, so it makes it hard to know what to believe. It’s true that an understanding of the process gives us no “useful” information because there is nothing we can do moving forward. But that doesn’t justify sharing potential misinformation without clarifying the source.
Numbers aren’t everything.all of us accepted were too, we just happened to be higher numbers.
my mcat is less than 510 if thats the question here.
from what you said earlier, it sounded like your info was from adcoms from LAST cycle. that’s part of why we’re trying to clarify the source. there was some shuffling of the UNC admissions team this year, so who knows if they’re doing things the same way.lol trust me it was directly from admissions and i know a lot more than i can share. i know it sucks that everything is on the table but you're just a number at this point. all of us accepted were too, we just happened to be higher numbers.
if there was a time to show your interest and put your best foot forward that should have been in your essays or on interview day.
Ya… was rejected with a 521🙂Numbers aren’t everything.
I think what they mean is that our applications are evaluated by scores based on the primary, secondary, and interview, and that after those initial evaluations, decisions are based on the scores and not on stats…Numbers aren’t everything.
Oh shoot - I was supposed to show interest and put my best foot forward in my essays/interview? Darn, I didn’t know! Thanks for sharing this new and insightful information SDN user abbeysistine ☺️lol trust me it was directly from admissions and i know a lot more than i can share. i know it sucks that everything is on the table but you're just a number at this point. all of us accepted were too, we just happened to be higher numbers.

My FAFSA was sumbitted on 12/11, not 100% sure on the portal form but probably around a week after i got the email about it on 1/29. I chatted with a few people at second look but no one else I talked to had heard anything yet. They mentioned in the financial aid presentation that there are a lot of FAFSA delays right now, so they expect it to take a bit to get through everyone. When did you submit FAFSA and the portal form? I'm still waiting to hear on Fin Aid!
I really hope soDang I’m mad nervous now… hopefully, we get some acceptances this coming week guys. WE GOT THIS 🔥🔥🔥
