2024-2025 NYU (Grossman)

For more details, Dr. Rivera said that normally acceptances would have all been over at this time, but the MD-PHD restructuring meant more MD acceptances this year. The calls and acceptances would have gone out January but he wasn't available at that time. There will be another second look in late April.

Also accepted today after being on CR since November and giving up hope 😭

FWIW I did not think I did very well on the interview but here we are…

Congrats to everyone who got the call today!! Does anyone know if we should anticipate any more acceptances this week?
They have accepted 148 for a class of ~102, so I imagine they're now waiting for people to turn down their spots before doing more acceptances, and ~20 acceptances were made yesterday

Thank you for sharing those figures! Are the 20 acceptances made yesterdat included in the 148?
Would you happen to know approximately how many students are still on CR?
Yes, the 20 are included.

He did not mention anything about the CR list as far I remember.

For students who are waitlisted, Dr. Rivera did say they normally take 30-40 students from the waitlist, but now their yields have stabilized so they could accept more students earlier, the implication being they now expect to accept fewer from the waitlist.

If someone on CR submitted an update letter/letter of intent/letter of interest at this point, would it factor into the committee's decision?

What would happen if my phone was dead and they couldnt get a hold of me during a call? That's my worst nightmare

did he say anything about when ppl on CR will find out if its a WL or R?
At this point, just looking at cycle results, I honestly think that only a few, if anybody, has been waitlisted yet. Those that listed waitlist might have also confused CR for WL lol. I'm just really confused how they've blown this far past their original expected deadline for final decisions

I've literally been on CR since July and them not communicating with us is making me crash out D:< not expecting anything at this point but good luck to everyone else out there stay strong soldiers

+1 WL
Anyone happen to know how many students are typically accepted off the waitlist? I think someone earlier said less than 30-40?

Does anyone have any inkling on the percent of people on the waitlist granted acceptance?

MSAR lists waitlist size and typical movement, though this year could likely be expected to be a bit different due to the MD-PhD switch-ups

Majority probably! There might be slight movement after April 15 when people narrow down to 3 schools, but not significant.

Did he specify whether these 148 accepted students included the MD/PhD Acceptances that turned into just MD acceptances?

does anyone remember what was said about when to submit letters of intent for waitlist people?
