Does anyone know if schools ever make groups on fb or groupme for accepted students? I know it's really early but would be great to meet other prospective students!

IS II complete sometime in mid august – for those who interviewed, what's it like? Conversational? Looks like it's 2 interviews with two different adcoms

yes! one’s with faculty and the other is with a med student. very conversational and they ask in depth question about your app so definitely be prepared for that.

Guys just making sure that for the interview I was supposed to upload a pic of my ID instead of a photo of me where it says "applicant photo"

I interviewed end of September and haven't heard ..... hopefully that means WL

I havent had my interview yet (but was Invited for Interview). After the interview is it useful to submit an update letter to admissions?

IS A on 11/7!!! Submitted 9/14, received interview 9/27, interview 10/18! Don’t give up yall!!!

Anyone interview first week of october and hear back or not hear back yet?

I was being kinda crazy and looking at SDN threads from previous years, it seems like they evaluate interviewees together each month and send out monthly acceptances, and most of the ppl who hadn't heard back in their group ended up being WL..... still holding out hope for us though

any interview tips?? Vibes of the interview etc. this is the first traditional interview I have and im getting nervous! Also for those accepted did you send thank you letters?

Howdy! I've been putting my MD/PhD IIs on the 2024-2025 MD/PhD Interview Invites thread but figured I should maybe share them on the school-specific posts for people who may not have found the Physician Scientists SDN community yet.

My very first MD/PhD II back in August! OOS; C: 8/8; II: THE next day 8/9 (safe to say I cried surprised happy tears); Interview date: yesterday lol 11/13; per info session, bulk of decisions are slated for release between March and May, while about one-thirds of acceptances will be extended on a rolling basis before then, no sooner than approximately a month from now. (Sharing in case other people had interviews earlier in the cycle and were wanting to hear the most recent updates about the decision timeline.)

Does anyone know how much Stony Brooks weighs interviews?
This might be different for MD-only, but the MSTP program director told us to go into our interviews without stress; he said he believes we're all qualified applicants and that his goal for the interviews was to convince us, the applicants, why we should choose Stony Brook over other programs. All of my interviews felt very conversational, with most of my interviewers talking about their research. The only interview that felt "traditional" was the one I had with a current student, and he asked me some creative questions that I really appreciated.

also I interviewed 10/17 did I already miss the mid-october acceptance wave? chat am I cooked?

Interesting. Is this possibly the same for MD? Meaning when they interview you are they pretty confident in you as an applicant?
