Agreed. It's also nice how the school provides USMLE material as well.Interviewed today and everyone was very nice. Im very impressed about the amount of questions one must do before taking comsae and comlex

OMS-I here! Might be late to the party but from what I remember, it was NOT conversational and just a session with very rapid, straightforward questions (eg why osteopathic, why rural, etc) and a few MMI-style questions. Good luck!Anyone have any advice about the interview? Mine is coming up and I am wondering if it’s more conversational? Or if reviewing these MMI & interview questions is helpful lol
OMS-I here! Have you heard back yet? I don't think it's entirely due to spring break since our spring break is next week!Do you guys think maybe they are behind due to spring break?
How would you say the environment is? Would you say a majority of the students/faculty are progressive/open-minded? Also, how would you say the curriculum is?If anyone has any questions, please feel free to reach out to me. Currently a first-year student at Touro MT 🙂
I haven't heard back yet! But I also interviewed 3/17OMS-I here! Have you heard back yet? I don't think it's entirely due to spring break since our spring break is next week!
Thank you responding! It was definitely rapid questioning, but they did let me know it would be kind of quick at the beginning. Toward the end was more conversational for sure. Overall a good interview in my opinion.OMS-I here! I haven’t heard back yet and interviewed 3/3 so seems like it’s taking longer for someDo you guys think we will hear back here soon? Or is it actually going to be 6-8 weeks
I would say they asked about 8. They gave me 3 MMI style questions & one of them had a part two to the question. They didn’t tell me how many questions they had before interviewing me. All they said was to try and keep my answers short since they had a lot to get through, but I wanted to make sure I was able to answer the question properly and get across who I was, so I did not make my answers too short.about how many questions in total would you say they asked?
Yes, most of the students here are open minded and progressive. A good amount of people are from California and also NY/NJ. We got people from all walks of life! It’s very diverse here at Touro. We are definitely like a bubble, not as diverse outside of Touro. There are a small group of students that are actually from MT, and they tend to be a bit more conservative but even so, they are pretty open-minded.How would you say the environment is? Thanks for taking time to write out all of this. How frequently are exams? Are they every week?Yes, most of the students here are open minded and progressive. Great Falls is what you make out of it. Definately got the small town feel but surprisingly locals are welcoming. Mostly because they are very excited about having future doctors being taught here. I must say there are some nice coffee shops and a few nice food spots (shout out to Wheat bakery and Roadhouse diner!) but nothing compared to if you come from a big city. It’s pretty flat here so don’t expect mountains. However, as I speak right now I’m sitting in my car after taking a nice walk along the river with my doggo, lol. It does get windy here though, which sucks.
Curriculum is alright. As you may know, classes are graded with a passing score of 70. If you do not pass a total of 11 credits, you will mostly have to take an LOA/be asked to leave which about 7 students from my class last semester did. Unfortunately, classes are mandatory. We use the iClickers system for attendance as well as class participation grade. Luckily, this is good because these are easy points that can help your overall class grade.
We have classes from Monday-Thursday. Usually starts at 9am with class being 50 mins long. Have a break from 12-1pm and then finish at around 5pm give or take. Two of the four afternoons per week are Anatomy and OMM labs. We have the flipped style curriculum which is a joke imo. You’re supposed to see and learn the material BEFORE coming to class. By the middle of first semester almost everyone was just exam chasing, showing up to class for attendance but actually studying for other classes (mostly the exam that is coming up). Most of us were not really prepared for class. There are still a few students who do keep up with classes, and I applaud them!
Exams are usually not very curved we get about 2-3 points back but you may not get them. It all depends if those challenged questions are the ones you got wrong. Exams are on Mondays mostly, and Fridays.
For the most part, professors are good and willing to help you if you ask for it. You will have your favorites and you’re not-so favorites. But all have office hours and most of them also have some research going on, if you’re interested.
In my own experience, first semester was a lot more difficult. Content was harder and not as interesting. You’re also getting used to the fast-paced learning and all the material you need to know. It is 100%, this is like drinking from a fire hose, but where you end up going, you do get used to it! Second semester (so far) gets a bit better. Material is more interesting and most people by now has a routine that works for them. We did have a few weeks where we had back to back classes, with only three days in between each… exam chasing is real! It was bad bad lol, but that could of been me and the other 100 students exam chasing but we just did Path, followed by three days of studying for Microbio, followed by the weekend to study Pharm, RIP.
Lmk if you have any other questions!!
Thank you for all of this! Yeah the curriculum scared me when I first read it, mentally preparing myself for it lol.
